Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus for performing phase operations. In one aspect, a method for performing a same phase operation on a first and second qubit using a third qubit prepared in a phased plus state includes: performing a first NOT operation on the third qubit; computing a controlled adder operation on the first, second and third qubit, comprising encoding the result of the controlled adder operation in a fourth qubit; performing a square of the phase operation on the fourth qubit; uncomputing the controlled adder operation on the first, second and third qubit; performing a CNOT operation between the first qubit and the third qubit, wherein the first qubit acts as the control; performing a CNOT operation between the second qubit and the third qubit, wherein the second qubit acts as the control; and performing a second NOT operation on the third qubit.

Abstract: A device and technique for reducing noise experienced by boat passengers from an outboard boat motor is discussed. The device may be implemented in the form of a cover that is adjacent to at least a portion of the boat motor. The cover includes one or more walls or surfaces that reflect or attenuate soundwaves. The cover may be attached to the boat motor and/or the boat. The cover may be integral with the boat motor and/or the boat. The cover may be attached to the boat via a hinge to permit the cover to be pivoted away from the boat motor. The materials used to construct the cover may be provided in layers that help to attenuate, absorb or reflect soundwaves.

Abstract: An apparatus, method, and system for updating a file index in a search engine in a data backup system to reflect file changes introduced in a new backup is disclosed. The operations comprise: generating a first external file, the first external file comprising file hashes for files already indexed in a file index in a search engine of a data backup storage system that are not associated with a deleted status; generating a second external file, the second external file comprising file hashes for files in a new backup; determining one or more file changes introduced in the new backup based on a comparison between the first external file and the second external file; and updating the file index in the search engine to reflect the one or more file changes introduced in the new backup.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer-readable media that implement autonomous seagoing power replenishment watercraft. An example system includes a plurality of marine vessels; a plurality of watercraft, each watercraft of the plurality of watercraft including a rechargeable electrical power supply and being configured to operate in: a first mode in which the watercraft awaits an assignment to provide electrical energy to a marine vessel of the plurality of marine vessels; a second mode in which the watercraft performs operations including keeping station with an assigned marine vessel and providing electrical energy to the assigned marine vessel from the power supply; and a third mode in which the watercraft recharges the power supply from a charging station. The system includes a controller configured to perform operations comprising: transmitting, to a first watercraft, an instruction indicating an assignment of the first watercraft to provide electrical energy to a first marine vessel.

One or more modules may be removably and slidably coupled with the track assembly. The modules include base structure defining an attachment point. A rail feature is disposed along a bottom portion of the base structure. An attachment feature having a retainer for removably coupling to the attachment point to the base structure.

Abstract: A system for emergency egress advisement from a building. An egress advisement device can receive a floormap and subset of emergency egress instructions associated with routes within the building, wherein the subset of instructions are associated with a location of the egress advisement device and are used, by the device, to direct users in proximity to the location of the device to egress from that location during an emergency, locally store the floormap and subset of instructions, receive a signal indicative of an emergency, locally select, based on real-time conditions in the building relative to the location of the egress advisement device, one of the subset of instructions, which is customized for users in proximity to the location of the egress advisement device, and output the selected instructions to guide the users in proximity to the location of the egress advisement device to egress from the building.

Abstract: Electric aircraft charging system including charging cable configured to carry electricity and energy source, wherein the energy source is electrically connected to the charging cable. The system also including a cable reel module, the cable reel module including a reel, wherein the reel is rotatably mounted to the cable reel module, wherein the reel is configured to rotate in a forward direction and a reverse direction, and the charging cable, in a stowed configuration, is wound around the reel. The cable reel module further including a rotation mechanism configured to rotate the reel in reverse, and a cable reel module door having a closed position and an open position, wherein the closed position prevents access to the reel and the open position allows access to the reel. The system additionally including a controller communicatively connected to the rotation mechanism and configured to send a retraction signal to the rotation mechanism.

Abstract: An optical assembly for projecting light output by a display includes an optical waveguide, a reflective optical element, and a in-coupler coupled with the optical waveguide. The reflective optical element is positioned to receive first light and to reflect the first light as second light. The in-coupler is positioned to receive the first light and transmit the first light toward the reflective optical element. The in-coupler is further positioned to receive the second light and redirect a first portion of the second light so that the first portion of the second light undergoes total internal reflection inside the optical waveguide. The reflective optical element includes a negative meniscus lens having a concave lens surface and a convex lens surface coupled with a reflective surface. The reflective optical element is positioned to focus the first light such that the second light is more collimated than the first light.

Abstract: Systems and methods are described herein to automate managing of service layer operations comprised of multiple elementary operations and offloading the burden of performing such multi-step operations from a requesting entity to the service layer. A Request Abstraction Service (RAS) is described herein for the autonomous execution of such multi-step operations. Methods and apparatuses are also described herein for a service layer framework for integrating generic and functional user interfaces as services managed by the SL on behalf of requesting entities.

Abstract: A electronic device may generate graphic user interface (GUI) data, based on menu data, for display as a GUI on a display device. The GUI including a plurality of user-selectable menu items configured in a first order, will update the menu data in response to a selection, by the user, of one of the plurality of user-selectable menu items. The GUI data is then updated for display as an updated GUI on the display device wherein the menu data include plurality of menu item counters corresponding to the plurality of user-selectable menu items, respectively. The updated GUI data is updated for display as the updated GUI on the display device by arranging the plurality of the user-selectable menu items in a second order based on values of the menu item counter.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and devices are disclosed for synchronizing a map within shared memory for a navigating autonomous vehicle. A map, defined by a geographical area around an autonomous vehicle navigating a route, can be received and stored in shared memory. The shared memory can be a specific physical block of RAM. Concurrent access to the map within the shared memory can be granted to downstream nodes on the autonomous vehicle as the autonomous vehicle navigates the route. This shares the map among many nodes while, at the same time, allowing updates to the map without blocking those nodes at any time.

Abstract: A method of forming a composite material includes disposing dried plant material, nanoparticles, and a supercritical fluid in a vessel. A cellular structure of the dried plant material expands when disposed in the supercritical fluid and the nanoparticles migrate into and are embedded within the expanded cellular structure of the disposed dried plant material. The disposed dried plant fibers with embedded nanoparticles are removed from the vessel and mixed with a polymer to form a polymer-nanoparticle mixture. A chemical additive can be added to the supercritical fluid and the chemical additive can remove at least one of hemicellulose, lignin and pectins from the dried plant material.

Abstract: This disclosure details exemplary immersion cooling battery array designs for use in electrified vehicle battery packs or other electrified components. An exemplary battery array design may include a battery subassembly including a compressible spacer assembly and a plurality of battery cells held by the compressible spacer assembly. The battery subassembly may be surrounded by an outer shell assembly. A non-conductive (i.e., dielectric) fluid may be received and communicated inside the outer shell assembly for thermally managing heat generated by the battery cells.

Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure are for an interaction mode system that provides multiple interaction modes in an artificial reality environment with automatic, context-specific transitions between interaction modes. An interaction mode can specify how the interaction mode system determines direction indications and movement within an artificial reality environment and interactions for making selections or performing other actions. In some implementations, the interaction mode system can control at least four interaction modes including a no-hands, 3DoF mode, a no-hands, 6DoF mode, a gaze and gesture mode, and a ray casting mode. The interaction mode system can employ a mapping of interaction mode context factors (e.g., which components are enabled, mode settings, lighting or other environment conditions, current body positions, etc.) to interaction modes to control transitioning between particular interaction modes.

Abstract: Disclosed is a rotatable shower chair that couples to the side wall of a bathtub. The platform for the rotatable shower chair cannot be moved until the platform is uncoupled from the bathtub sidewall. The seat is rotatable, allowing an individual to control rotation by movement of individual's body. A grab rail is placed along one side of the seat platform to facilitate repositioning by the bather.
