Abstract: A battery system with cell groups arranged in modules and with plurality of modules arranged in individual battery sub-packs includes a controller network configured to monitor the sub-packs. The network includes a plurality of cell monitoring units (CMUs); each CMU connected to one module for processing data for respective cell groups. The network also includes multiple voltage sensors on each CMU, with each sensor detecting voltage across one cell group. The network additionally includes an electronic controller programmed with an algorithm and in wireless communication with each CMU. The algorithm identifies when electrical power is disconnected from the RESS and directs electrical current through a selected sub-pack after power is restored. The algorithm also interrogates voltage sensors of a particular CMU, detects a change in voltage triggered by the current, and records a cross-reference between the particular CMU and the selected sub-pack when the change in voltage is detected.

Abstract: A system and method for protocol independent receive side scaling (RSS) includes storing a plurality of RSS hash M-tuple definitions, each definition corresponding to one of a set of possible protocol header combinations for routing an incoming packet, the set of possible protocol header combinations being modifiable to include later-developed protocols. Based on initial bytes of the incoming packet, a pattern of protocol headers is detected, and used to select one of the plurality of RSS hash M-tuple definitions. The selected RSS hash M-tuple definition is applied as a protocol-independent arbitrary set of bits to the headers of the incoming packet to form a RSS hash M-tuple vector, which is used to compute a RSS hash. Based on the RSS hash, a particular queue is selected from a set of destination queues identified for the packet, and the packet is delivered to the selected particular queue.
Abstract: Systems and methods for providing a separate interest rate for an individual transaction are disclosed. A system may provide a service associated with a account having an account balance and an associated first interest rate. The system may include a service device having one or more memory devices storing instructions and one or more processors configured to execute the instructions to perform a separate interest rate service process. The process may include providing a separate interest rate service offer to a client device and receiving a separate interest rate selection from the client device. The process may also include determining a selected portion of the account balance corresponding to an amount to which a second interest rate, different from the first interest rate, is to be applied based on the separate interest rate selection.

Abstract: Aspects of the technology relate to a propeller blade assembly that is used in lateral propulsion systems for lighter-than-air high altitude platforms designed to operate, e.g., in the stratosphere. During operation, the propeller of the assembly is pointed along a specified heading and rotates at a selected velocity (e.g., hundreds or thousands of revolutions per minute). Power is supplied to the propeller as needed during lateral propulsion to move the platform along a particular trajectory or to remain on station over a given geographic location. In certain circumstances, the propeller may become damaged. This can include one or more blades breaking or shattering, which can result in failure of the propeller and potentially the entire LTA platform. The technology provides blades that are sufficiently flexible to avoid breakage or shattering due to debris impact or envelope entanglement, or otherwise shed a load. This can avoid catastrophic failure during stratospheric operation.
Abstract: An apparatus and method, according to an exemplary aspect includes, among other things, a bracket system having a first portion fixed to a vehicle panel and a second portion that is moveable relative to the first portion for adjustment purposes. At least one first fastener holds the first and second portions together prior to assembly of the vehicle panel to a pillar. The at least one first fastener is loosened to adjust a position of the second portion relative to the pillar. At least one second fastener secures the second portion to the pillar subsequent to adjustment, and the at least one first fastener is tightened subsequent to adjustment to hold the vehicle panel in a desired position relative to the pillar.

Abstract: Methods and systems are described for condition mitigation. A computing device may display content. The computing device may determine that displaying and/or outputting the content may impact a person with a condition. The computing device may take an action to reduce an impact of the content on the person.
Abstract: A method for producing a fermentate including the steps of obtaining a fruit or vegetable extract, treating the extract with a hydrolytic enzyme, mixing the extract with a fermenting microorganism, water, and a growth media to produce a liquid composition; and incubating the liquid composition at a controlled temperature and a controlled pH to produce a fermentate. A method for killing or inhibiting the growth of a contaminating microorganism on or within a food product, and a food product including a fermentate having a cellular mass component from a fermenting microorganism, a fermented fruit or vegetable extract and a hydrolytic enzyme are disclosed. A fermentate produced by any one of the methods described is contemplated. The fermentate may be a concentrated liquid or a dry powder and has the ability to inhibit the growth of a contaminating microorganism by 100% when diluted to less than 5% (w/v).
Abstract: An image sensor includes sensing pixels, each comprising a photodetector in electrical communication with a floating diffusion capacitor via a transfer gate, and a lateral overflow storage capacitor coupled to the floating diffusion capacitor via a lateral overflow control gate. A first readout circuit circuitry located between the transfer gate and the lateral overflow control gate comprises a first amplifier. A second readout circuitry, located opposite the lateral overflow control gate from the first readout circuitry, comprises a second amplifier. Following image integration, charge stored on the floating diffusion capacitor is readout using the first readout circuitry and charge stored on the lateral overflow storage capacitor is readout using the second readout circuitry. In a second readout, charge stored on the photodetector is readout using the first readout circuitry with a first amplification applied and charge stored on the photodetector is readout with a second, different amplification applied.
Abstract: Provided are methods for track segment cleaning of tracked objects using neural networks, which can include detecting a first track segment and a second track segment. The method includes applying a machine learning model trained to determine if the first track segment and second track segment capture real objects and if the first track segment and the second track segment are representative of an identical object exterior to a vehicle. The method further includes combining the first track segment and the second track segment to form a single track segment having a single trajectory in response to the first track segment and the second track segment being determined to be representative of the identical object. Systems and computer program products are also provided.
Abstract: Among other things, a vehicle is caused to drive autonomously through a road network toward a defined goal position, and, if no potential stopping place that is in the vicinity of the goal position and is acceptable and feasible can be identified, a human operator not onboard the vehicle is enabled to drive the vehicle to a stopping place.
