Abstract: The present invention is directed to an apparatus and system for the insertion and extrication of a person, particularly a disabled person, to and from the water wherein the board allows for compact storage in a stowed configuration, rescue use in an extended configuration, and seated use in a seated configuration. The system further comprises a rolling frame to further enable access and allow a user to sit at a common seated height.
Abstract: A method, computer program, and computer system are provided for encoding video data. Luma and chroma samples are identified from image data corresponding to a video frame. In particular, at least one chroma sample may be predicted from at least one luma sample based on a DC contribution from a chroma component of the image data and an AC contribution from a luma component of the image data. Also, a plurality of linear models may be determined from the identified luma and chroma samples. The luma and chroma samples may be classified into a number of categories corresponding to a number of linear models, where each category has at least one corresponding linear model parameters signaled to the bitstream; the chroma sample prediction may be further based on such parameters.
Abstract: This document describes systems and techniques directed at under-display sensor lamination. In aspects, an electronic device having a mechanical frame designed with a bucket architecture includes an under-display sensor attached to one or more layers of a display panel stack. Such an implementation enables attachment of the under-display sensor to a protective layer, as opposed to attachment of the sensor directly to a display panel, minimizing the risk of delamination, as well as reducing damage to the display panel if delamination occurs and rework is attempted. Further, such an implementation removes the need for a mid-frame architecture, resulting in a thinner and lighter electronic device.

Abstract: A male population of mosquito pupae sorted according to a sorting method is described. The sorting method may include adding a mixed population of mosquito pupae into an interior volume of a sieving container including base defining a set of openings enabling movement of mosquito pupae from the interior volume through the set of openings. The mixed population of mosquito pupae may include male mosquito pupae and female mosquito pupae. The method may also include adding a volume of aqueous solution to the interior volume. The method may also include removing a portion of the male pupae from the mixed population of mosquito pupae to by performing a sieving action that causes the portion of the male pupae and a portion of the volume of water to pass from the interior volume through the set of openings. The method may also include capturing the portion of the male pupae as the male population of mosquito pupae after the portion of the male pupae has passed through the set of openings.
Abstract: The present disclosure provides a novel process of using nonionic surfactants in wells at, near, or below, their cloud point temperature for increased oil production from reservoir formations. Adjusting the surfactant cloud point temperature to be proximate to the reservoir temperature results in the maximum surface activity of the surfactant, increased adsorption, and better imbibition performance. The nonionic surfactants may be mixed with a solution on surface and then injected into formation brine for spontaneous brine imbibition and crude oil production from oil-wet unconventional reservoir formations. Also disclosed is a surfactant selection process that comprises initial surfactant screening, surfactant persistence tests, and spontaneous imbibition experiments to evaluate the performance of both ionic and nonionic surfactants in altering rock-oil wetting properties and improving oil recovery.

One example provides a light emitting circuit comprising a power source, one or more light sources connected to an output of the power source, and a control circuit comprising a pulsed voltage source and a control transistor configured to regulate a current through the light sources based upon an output of the pulsed voltage source. The light emitting circuit further comprises a monitor transistor comprising a gate connected to an output of the light sources such that a voltage at the output of the light sources controls an output of the monitor transistor, and a monitor transistor detector connected to the output of the monitor transistor. The monitor transistor detector is configured to monitor a state of the one or more light sources based upon a state of the output of the monitor transistor.

Abstract: A speech recognition model includes an encoder network, a prediction network, and a joint network. The encoder network is configured to receive a sequence of acoustic frames characterizing an input utterance; and generate, at each of a plurality of output steps, a higher order feature representation for a corresponding acoustic frame in the sequence of acoustic frames. The prediction network is configured to: receive a sequence of non-blank symbols output by a final Softmax layer; and generate, at each of the plurality of output steps, a dense representation. The joint network is configured to generate, at each of the plurality of output steps based on the higher order feature representation and the dense representation, a probability distribution over possible speech recognition hypotheses. The joint network includes a stack of gating and bilinear pooling to fuse the dense representation and the higher order feature representation.

The fishing pole further includes a flexible rod connecting to the handle and extending axially along an elongate axis. The flexible rod is structured to cast a fishing line a distance from the spool of the line reel. The flexible rod further includes at least two node locations. A plurality of rod guides are aligned with each of the at least two node locations and are operative to mitigate mechanical interaction with, and frictional drag on, the fishing line as it passes through each of the rod guides.
Abstract: The cooling systems and methods of the present disclosure involve modular fluid coolers and chillers configured for optimal power and water use based on environmental conditions and client requirements. The fluid coolers include wet media, a first fluid circuit for distributing fluid across wet media, an air to fluid heat exchanger, and an air to refrigerant heat exchanger. The chillers, which are fluidly coupled to the fluid coolers via pipe cages, include a second fluid circuit in fluid communication with the air to fluid heat exchanger and a refrigerant circuit in thermal communication with the second fluid circuit and in fluid communication with the air to refrigerant heat exchanger. Pipe cages are coupled together to allow for expansion of the cooling system when additional cooling capacity is needed. The fluid coolers and chillers are configured to selectively operate in wet or dry free cooling mode, partial free cooling mode, or mechanical cooling mode.

Abstract: A smokeless tobacco product includes smokeless tobacco and structural fibers. The structural fibers forming a network in which the smokeless tobacco is entangled. Abstract: Systems and methods for adjusting light emitted from a display of a device are provided. The adjusting includes obtaining, from light of an environment detected by at least one sensor, a measured color of light of the environment, and obtaining, from light of the environment detected by at least one sensor, a measured brightness of light of the environment. In response to the obtaining the measured color and the measured brightness of light, a color of light emitted from the display is adjusted from an initial color prior to the adjusting to a target color that matches the measured color. Further, a brightness of light emitted from the display is adjusted from an initial brightness emitted by the display prior to the adjusting to a target brightness that matches the measured brightness of light.

Abstract: A method of guided data selection for masked speech modeling includes obtaining a sequence of encoded representations corresponding to an utterance. Abstract: A process for converting C2-5 alkanes to higher value C5-24 hydrocarbon fuels and blendstocks. The C2-5 alkanes are converted to olefins by thermal olefination, without the use of a dehydrogenation catalyst and without the use of steam. The product olefins are fed to an oligomerization reactor containing a zeolite catalyst to crack, oligomerize and cyclize the olens to the fuel products which are then recovered. Optionally, hydrogen and methane are removed from the product olefin stream prior to oligomerization. Further optionally, C2-5 alkanes are removed from the product olefin stream prior to oligomerization.
