Abstract: A computer-implemented method, system and computer program product for improving the quality of subsequent searches. A request is received from a user to perform a search using the term(s) provided by the user. A search is then performed using the provided term(s). A representation of the search result is depicted as an area (e.g., bubble) with terms of interest displayed outside the area. The area represents a set of documents that were found in the performed search and the terms of interest represent terms that may be of interest to the user based on this set of documents. These terms of interest may be selected by the user to adjust the search result. In this manner, the user is presented with an intuitive view as to how different terms or different searches will have an impact on the search results thereby improving the quality of subsequent searches.

Abstract: Techniques for performing an emissions demand response event are described. In an example, a cloud-based HVAC control server system receives an emissions rate forecast for a predefined future time period. Using the emissions rate forecast, a plurality of emissions differential values are created for a plurality of points in time during the predefined future time period. The emissions differential values represent a change in predicted emissions over time. Based on the plurality of emissions differential values and a predefined maximum number of emissions demand response events, an emissions demand response event is generated during the predefined future time period. The cloud-based HVAC control server system then causes a thermostat to control an HVAC system in accordance with the generated emissions demand response event.

Abstract: A parametric amplifier for amplifying an input signal includes a resonator comprising a Josephson junction. The Josephson junction comprises a first superconductor component, a second superconductor component and a semiconductor component. The semiconductor component is configured to enable coupling of the first and second superconductor components. The parametric amplifier further comprises a gate electrode configured to apply an electrostatic field to the semiconductor component of the Josephson junction for tuning the parametric amplifier. Such parametric amplifiers are useful for amplifying signals in the microwave frequency range. Tuning the junction by electrostatic gating may allow for improved scalability compared to tuning using magnetic flux. Also provided are the use of the parametric amplifier to amplify a signal; and a method of amplifying a signal.

Abstract: A solution for formatting document objects by visual suggestions is proposed. For a document including multiple editing units each of which contains multiple objects, a first editing rule is generated, the first editing rule indicating an edit performed on a first object in a document. Then, an editing suggestion is generated based on the first editing rule, the editing suggestion describing a candidate edit to be performed on a second object within a suggestion scope. The editing suggestion is then presented in a visual form to a user for selection.

Abstract: A flexible coupling for a drive train, the coupling having a drive yoke, a driven yoke, and a connector for transferring rotational torque between the yokes. The drive and driven yokes are manually inserted into slots in the connector. The drive yoke connects to a drive shaft and the driven yoke connects to a driven shaft. Rotating the drive shaft rotates the drive yoke against the connector causing it to rotate; which in turn transfers torque to and rotates the driven yoke. Surfaces on the yokes and connector that contact one another during rotation define contact surfaces. Portions of the yokes and/or connector having the contact surfaces are obliquely profiled so that contact surfaces on the yokes are complementary to corresponding contact surfaces on the connector, which increases the areas of force transfer between the yokes and connectors to reduce stress concentrations.

In the method motion information related to only a single or reduced set of collocated coding unit(s) may be stored at the encoder and decoder. In operation, if the encoder determines that motion information for a current coding unit should replace a currently stored motion information for currently stored motion information for the collocated coding unit, then the encoder can replace the motion information at the encoder and transmit an indicator with the current coding unit to signal to the decoder that currently stored motion information currently should be updated or replaced with the motion information associated with the current coding unit.
