Abstract: A resource-efficient modulation scheme includes both conventional and zero-amplitude states. The conventional states in 5G/6G are amplitude- or phase-modulated, or both, whereas the zero-amplitude states have zero or substantially zero amplitude. By including modulation states with zero amplitude in the modulation scheme, transmitters can transmit a message more compactly, and using less time or bandwidth, and with a substantial decrease in emitted energy. For example, in a phase-modulation scheme such as BPSK or QPSK, a zero state represents an additional modulation state with zero transmitted amplitude. In a modulation scheme with I and Q branches in quadrature, each branch is separately amplitude modulated, plus additional states with zero amplitude in one or both branches, for different effects. For example, 16QAM with nine additional zero-amplitude states totals 25 available modulation states, resulting in 36% reduction in message size and 44% reduction in transmitted energy.
Abstract: A method comprises creating template limited-administration ontologies, the template limited-administration ontologies each identifying a plurality of different managers, each of the different managers having distinct and limited system access privileges. A request is received for a limited-administration server system, the request being associated with a client entity. Abstract: An action framework system provides context-based actions in association with a source application. The source application detects selection of a content element presented by the source application. The content element is associated with an application identifier identifying a target application and an action identifier identifying an operation to be executed by the target application on the content element. The target application identified by the application identifier is executed to perform the operation identified by the action identifier on the content element, responsive to detection of the selection of the content element. In one implementation, the source application is a search feature providing different contexts of search results (e.g., from a local file system search, a local application content search, a Web search, a remote application content search).

Abstract: An interference structure having a nanovoided hologram material is described. The nanovoided hologram material may have an index of refraction difference of approximately 0.4. The interference structure may include about 10% to 90% nanovoids by volume. The interference structure may be formed using a mixture of a monomer, an initiator, and solvent. The mixture may be disposed on a substrate and irradiated with two sources of light spaced apart from each other and shining on the same region of the mixture to generate an interference pattern in the mixture, leading to the selective polymerization of regions of the mixture where there is constructive interference of light. Various other devices, methods, and systems are also disclosed.
Abstract: A system and method for managing virtual queues. A cloud-based queue service manages a plurality of queues hosted by one or more entities. The queue service is in constant communication with the entities providing queue management, queue analysis, and queue recommendations. The queue service is likewise in direct communication with queued persons. Sending periodic updates while also motivating and incentivizing punctuality and minimizing wait times based on predictive analysis. The predictive analysis uses “Big Data” and other available data resources, for which the predictions assist in the balancing of persons across multiple queues for the same event or multiple persons across a sequence of queues for sequential events.

Abstract: Framed event access in an ordered event stream (OES) storage system is disclosed. Events can be written to one or more segments of an OES and can have an inherent write sequence. Segments can be parallel segments. Reading events from parallel segments can result in a read sequence that does not match the write sequence. This mismatch can be more severe as segment length increases, as event density disparities increase, as access times diverge for different segments, or for numerous other reasons. Event framing can compartmentalize divergence between the write and read sequence. In an aspect, readers in the several segments of the OES can be constrained to read within a frame defined by frame boundaries until all readers have reached the frame boundary, then can advance to a next frame. The restriction can act as a pseudo-synchronization of readers that can mitigate difference between write and read sequences.
Abstract: The techniques disclosed herein improve existing systems by automatically identifying tasks from a number of different types of user activity and providing suggestions for the tasks to one or more selected delivery mechanisms. A system compiles the tasks and pushes each task to a personalized task list of a user. The delivery of each task may be based on any suitable user activity, which may include communication between one or more users or a user's interaction with a particular file or a system. The system can identify timelines, performance parameters, and other related contextual data associated with the task. The system can identify a delivery schedule for the task to optimize the effectiveness of the delivery of the task. The system can also provide smart notifications. When a task conflicts with a person's calendar, the system can resolve scheduling conflicts based on priorities of a calendar event.

Abstract: A network entity may determine whether a network context of a device is stored in the device or in the network based, at least in part, on a preference or capability of the device, as reported by the device during attachment to the network entity. The context may be stored in, and retrieved from, a dedicated context storage function that is independent of the network entity. A context storage function may be partitioned, or separate storage functions used, to automatically group and track access network contexts, core network contexts, or network slice contexts. The context storage function may provide to the device an index, such as a link or other identifier to be used in retrieving the stored context information. The context storage function may further provide a token to secure re-attachment communications among the device, the network entity, and the context storage function.
