Patent number: 11406550Abstract: An aerosol containment enclosure is used to isolate an air mass immediately surrounding a patient known or suspected to have a disease which may be transmitted through the air. The enclosure cooperates with a patient support apparatus (PSA). In embodiments, a flexible rod supports a substantially aerosol impermeable covering and is connected to the PSA. The enclosure may be semi-rigid and collapsible to a predetermined collapsed shape. The enclosure may be rapidly erected around a patient in an ambulance or other treatment setting. Embodiments of couplers provide compatibility with a wide diversity of sized and shaped PSAs. One coupler is connectable to the PSA with a coupler end exposed along a frame and upwardly extensible toward a PSA surface. A connector extends from the flexible rod and engages with the coupler end. The coupler may be longitudinally or laterally adjustable along the PSA.Type: GrantFiled: December 30, 2021Date of Patent: August 9, 2022Assignee: AEROSOL CONTAINMENT CONTAINER, LLCInventors: Sean William Barrett, Richard Theriault

Patent number: 11411736Abstract: Updating a verifiable claim so that a duration of the verifiable claim can be modified without direct user input. A plurality of verifiable claims that have previously been issued to a user are accessed by a computing system. The plurality of verifiable claims include duration metadata that defines a duration of each of the plurality of verifiable claims. The duration metadata of each of the plurality of verifiable claims is monitored to determine those of the plurality of verifiable claims that are set to expire based on the defined duration. For those verifiable claims that are set to expire, a request is made to a party that issued each verifiable claim for update information that is configured to modify the duration of each verifiable claim. In response to receiving the update information, the duration of each verifiable claim is automatically updated without the need for any direct user input.Type: GrantFiled: March 3, 2020Date of Patent: August 9, 2022Assignee: Microsoft Technology Licensing, LLCInventors: Brandon Murdoch, Ankur Patel, Guillermo P. Patent number: 11409652Abstract: Systems and methods for estimating the number of workers needed to perform a garbage collection operation are disclosed. Similarity groups are used to identify segments associated with objects in a computing system. Using deletion records that identify objects to be deleted, the similarity groups impacted by the deletion records can be identified. The number of workers can be determined based on the impacted similarity groups. More specifically, the number of impacted similarity groups and/or workers can be evaluated in terms of memory requirements, input/output constraints and/or time requirements to estimate the number or workers needed to clean similarity groups impacted by a garbage collection operation.Type: GrantFiled: December 17, 2020Date of Patent: August 9, 2022Assignee: EMC IP HOLDING COMPANY LLCInventors: Nicholas A Noto, Mariah Arevalo, Philip Shilane, Joseph S.
