  • Patent number: 11405797
Abstract: Apparatus and methods for streamlined cell activation in a wireless network. In one embodiment, the apparatus and methods provide enhanced wireless services which utilize bandwidth-efficient setup/configuration messaging and cell activation, including for very large numbers of cells, and which do not overwhelm data backhaul(s) associated with wireless nodes used for communication. In one embodiment, a message protocol is used wherein a prescribed number of cells of a given DU (e.g., all, a prescribed subset, etc.) are activated without having to enumerate or include specific data relating to the cells being activated. In one variant, this “global” activation is conducted using an Activate All Cells IE (Information Element) disposed with the F1SETUP RESPONSE message issued by a controlling CU entity within a 5G-NR infrastructure. In other variants, cells of multiple DUs can be controlled simultaneously, such as via distribution of a system-wide global activation IE.

  • Patent number: 11403463
Abstract: Disclosed are systems, methods, and non-transitory computer-readable media for a language proficiency inference system used to determine a user's proficiency in one or more languages. The language proficiency inference system determines both text-based probability scores and profile-based probability scores indicating a probability that a user speaks a language or set of languages. The text-based probability score is based on text associated with the first user, whereas the profile-based probability score is based profile data of the user. The language proficiency inference system determines aggregated probability scores based on the corresponding text-based and profile-based probability scores. For example, the aggregated probability score is the sum of the text and profile-based probability scores. The language proficiency inference system uses the aggregated scores to determine the languages in which the user is proficient.

  • Patent number: 11400976
Abstract: A first distance d1 between a vehicle at a first location and an object is determined. A best fit line representing the object is determined from a plurality of sensor data. A distance ?d to move to a second location is specified. A predicted second distance dp between the vehicle at the second location and the object is determined based on the first distance d1, the distance ?d, and the best fit line. The vehicle is operated from the first location to the second location based on a center steering wheel angle. A measured second distance d2 between the vehicle at the second location and object is determined. Then the center steering wheel angle is one of (a) maintained based on the predicted second distance dp matching the measured second distance d2, or (b) updated based on the predicted second distance dp being different than the measured second distance d2.

  • Patent number: 11405393
Abstract: Techniques to handle calls to web services via a service proxy are disclosed herein. In one embodiment, a technique includes an intermediate server receiving a request from a client device to the web service at a target server. In response to receiving the request, the intermediate server can authenticate the received request from the client device and upon successful authentication of the received request, forward the request to the targeted server and invoking the web service to process the forwarded request because the intermediate server is authenticated with the target server. The technique can also include receiving, at the intermediate server, data from the target server that represents execution results of the request by the web service at the target server. Upon receiving the data, the intermediate server can then forward to the client device, the data representing execution results of the request by the web service at the target server.

  • Patent number: 11402919
Abstract: This document describes techniques and systems that enable input methods for mobile devices. A radar field enables an electronic device to accurately determine that a part of a user is within a gesture zone around the device. Further, the device can determine whether an application configured to receive input through radar-based gestures (radar gestures) is operating on the device. Using these techniques, the device can present a feedback indicator on a display when the user's hand is within a gesture zone around the device. The feedback indicator alerts the user that the user's hand is close enough to the device to make specific radar gestures. This allows the device to provide the user with feedback, which can educate the user about the device's capabilities and allow the user to take advantage of additional functionality and features provided by the availability of the radar gestures.
