  • Patent number: 11405761
Abstract: An infrastructure to vehicle communications system includes a full spectrum camera disposed on a vehicle. A sign, disposed away from the vehicle, includes a message thereon. The sign reflecting visible light, and at least a portion of the message being an optical code; the optical code not reflecting visible light and reflecting invisible light. The full spectrum camera captures the image of the sign including the optical code. A smart vision device receives the image and determines the existence of the sign from the reflected visible light and the optical code thereon from the reflected invisible light. A data base stores one or more optical codes and one or more messages associated with a respective optical code, an on board unit communicating with the database and retrieves the message as a function of the optical code, and displays the message at a display in the vehicle.

  • Patent number: 11403191
Abstract: Implementations of the present disclosure provide a method for backup destination selection, an electronic device, and a computer program product. In one method, in a storage device set, a first group of candidate subsets is obtained, and the number of storage devices included in candidate subsets in the first group of candidate subsets is determined based on the number of copies specified by a backup task. A first group of subset codes of the first group of candidate subsets is determined. A second group of subset codes is generated according to the first group of subset codes, and codes in the second group of subset codes uniquely identify the candidate subsets. Based on the first group of candidate subsets and a second group of candidate subsets corresponding to the second group of subset codes, a target subset is selected as a backup destination of the backup task.

  • Patent number: 11402723
Abstract: A nonlinear fiber interferometer is disclosed suitable for fiber sensor and other applications. A first nonlinear fiber section amplifies probe and conjugate sidebands of a pump through four-wave mixing. A second section introduces a phase shift to be measured, for example from a sensor. A third nonlinear fiber section amplifies with phase-sensitive gain to increase signal-to-noise ratio. Based on phase-sensitive output power of probe and/or conjugate components, the phase shift can be measured. Superior performance can be obtained by balancing gain between the (first and third) nonlinear sections. Non-fiber, for example photonic integrated circuit, embodiments are disclosed. Differential sensing, alternative detection schemes, sensing applications, associated methods, and other variations are disclosed.

  • Patent number: 11401565
Abstract: A laser beam is scanned along spaced apart side-by-side laser tracks to form corresponding spaced apart side-by-side hardened metal tracks across a binder surface of the forming die. Each hardened metal track is oriented to extend longitudinally in a direction that is normal to the metal flow direction across the binder surface during a sheet metal forming operation. The scanning forms the corresponding hardened metal tracks across the binder surface without needing to perform a post-hardening machining operation on the sheet metal forming die to remove distortion caused by the laser hardening process.

  • Patent number: 11405772
Abstract: A system and method reports rules violations to a monitoring device relating to use of a monitored mobile device. The two devices use separate app versions linked through verification codes. The monitoring device establishes rules for use of the monitored device. When the monitored device app detects usage in violation of the rules, rule violations are reported to the monitoring app. Rules can be established that apply only in certain contexts, such as when driving a motor vehicle. The monitored app can submit a request to the monitoring app to enter passenger mode in order to avoid rule violations. The linked monitoring app can approve or deny the request. A distress stream can be started on the monitored app with a single button push. The stream is shared with the monitoring app and is automatically recorded during the stream at server location.
