Abstract: Disclosed herein is a railcar-moving vehicle having a highway mode for operation on roadways, and a rail mode for operation on rails. The railcar-moving vehicle including a support system, at least one drive axle with rubber tried drive wheels, and at least one pair of steering tires and two spaced apart rail bogies suspended by the support system. The railcar-moving vehicle including a weighted sled frame slidably mounted to the support system, the sled frame translatable between the front end and the rear end of the support system for optimizing weight distribution for increasing traction by the bogies when in rail mode. The bogies retained in an elevated and stowed position during highway mode and in a lowered position when in rail mode.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a balanced armature receiver (100) including a housing having a diaphragm comprising a movable paddle (116) disposed in the housing and separating the housing into a back volume (112) and a front volume (110) defined partly by space between a ceiling of the housing and the diaphragm, wherein the paddle is oriented non-parallel to the ceiling. A sound port (142) in the housing acoustically couples the front volume to an exterior of the housing, wherein the sound port is located on an end wall between the diaphragm and the ceiling. A motor disposed in the back volume includes a coil magnetically coupled to an armature having an end portion movably disposed between magnets retained by a yoke and coupled to the paddle.

Abstract: Apparatuses, methods, and systems are disclosed for preparing channel state information (“CSI”). One apparatus includes a processor and a transceiver configured to communicate with a base unit over a radio access network using at least one transmission layer and determining a total number of non-zero coefficients over a set of layers. The processor determines an indication of the total number of non-zero coefficients, where determining the indication of the total number of non-zero coefficients comprises encoding the total number of non-zero coefficients by selecting a codeword from a plurality of candidate codewords. The processor prepares CSI, where the CSI comprises the indication of the total number of non-zero coefficients and the transceiver transmits the CSI to the base unit.

Abstract: A medical imaging system, is formed of a lighting module, preferably using a single LED. The LED illuminates a reflection chamber, located to receive light from the LED, said reflection chamber terminating in a fiber interfacing surface. An optical fiber, connects to the fiber interfacing surface, and receives light therefrom when said LED is energized. The optical fiber has a first surface connected to the fiber interfacing surface, and has a second surface at an opposite end of the optical fiber from the first surface. A light guide, has a first end, optically coupled to the second end of said optical fiber, and the light guide directs light from the first end into a cone shaped surface at a second end, that directs light away from a center of the cone shaped surface into a hollow cylindrical shape of light, creating an illumination by the light at a distal end of the hollow cylindrical shape opposite the first end.

Abstract: An optical device may include an array of vertical-cavity surface-emitting lasers (VCSELs) having a design wavelength, each VCSEL having an emission area. The optical device may include a first metal layer, substantially covering the array, a second metal layer substantially covering the first metal layer, and an electrical isolation layer, between the first metal layer and the second metal layer, that includes vias for electrically connecting portions of the first metal layer and portions of the second metal layer. The optical device may include a dielectric disposed over the emission area of each VCSEL. A variation in a thickness of the dielectric across at least approximately 90% of an area of the dielectric may be less than approximately 2% of the design wavelength. A depth of a well around the emission area may be equal to at least approximately 10% of a width of the emission area.

Abstract: An apparatus for video decoding includes circuitry configured to receive a syntax element from a bitstream of a coded video being included in a parameter set or a picture header and specifying a minimum luma coding block size, verify whether the minimum luma coding block size is within a range of allowable minimum luma coding block sizes having an upper limit smaller than a maximum allowable coding tree unit (CTU) size, and decode a coded picture referring the parameter set or including the picture header in the coded video based on the minimum luma coding block size. The upper limit of the range of allowable minimum luma coding block sizes can be a predefined maximum allowable minimum luma coding block size.

Abstract: Devices and methods for securing electronic transactions in a computing network are configured to receive a transaction, access transaction contextual data for the transaction, and apply one or more authentication decision rules to the transaction contextual data to determine initial authentication assessment information for the transaction. Further, aspects are configured to convert the initial authentication assessment information into a condensed authentication assessment indicator having an assessment value selected from a plurality of assessment values based on an assessment value definition, and transmit the condensed authentication assessment indicator. Also, aspects receive a transaction authentication decision based in part on the condensed authentication assessment indicator, and process or deny processing of the transaction based on the transaction authentication decision.

Abstract: A session management function (SMF) sends, to an access and mobility management function (AMF), at least one first message comprising configuration parameters for a first session between a wireless device and a UPF and a second session, for a packet duplication of the first session, between the wireless device and the UPF. The SMF receives, from the UPF, traffic status information of the UPF. Based on the traffic status information, the SMF sends, to the AMF, a second message for activation of the packet duplication of the first session.

Abstract: The present invention provides environmentally-friendly compositions and methods for recovering oil from oil sands. The present invention can also be used for reducing the viscosity and/or increasing the API gravity of oil. In specific embodiments, the invention utilizes compositions comprising biochemical-producing microorganisms and microbial growth by-products, such as biosurfactants, as well as cavitation, to enhance oil recovery.

Abstract: The present embodiments relate to automated memory creation and retrieval from moment content items. In some implementations, the automated memory creation and retrieval system can obtain moment content items from user-designated sources with a single user perspective or multiple user perspectives. The moment content items can be assigned tags and arranged in chronological order. The arranged moment content items can be clustered into memory content items based on clustering conditions. Once memory content items are created, they can be arranged into a memory hierarchy made up of connected nodes. In some implementations, the memory content items are also linked together based on similarity in various dimensions in a memory graph. The automated memory creation and retrieval system can receive search criteria for memories from a user interface and provide the user with memories from matched nodes in the memory hierarchy or linked memories in the memory graph.

Abstract: A system includes a customer authentication system, and an automatic teller machine (ATM). The ATM includes a display, one or more memory devices storing software instructions, and one or more processors configured to execute the software instructions to perform operations to: display an item on the display; store information regarding the item; receive from a customer device captured information regarding the item; receive from the customer device identifying information of a customer; send the identifying information to the customer authentication system; compare the captured information with the information stored in the one or more memory devices; authenticate the customer device based on the comparison; and allow access to the customer account via the ATM after the authentication.

The catheter includes an elongate flexible tubular body, a distal zone of the tubular body comprising: a tubular inner liner; a helical coil surrounding the inner liner and having a distal end, a tubular jacket surrounding the helical coil, and extending distally beyond the helical coil distal end to terminate in a catheter distal face, and a tubular radiopaque marker embedded in the tubular jacket. The catheter distal face comprises a first section that resides on a first plane which crosses a longitudinal axis of the tubular body at a first angle within the range of from about 35 degrees to about 55 degrees, and a second section that resides on a second plane which crosses the longitudinal axis of the tubular body at a second angle within the range from about 55 degrees to about 90 degrees.

Abstract: An ocular device is disclosed along with methods for the employment thereof. In one aspect, a device for placement into a lacrimal punctum or conjunctival sac of a person includes one or more sensor materials responsive to one or more components of the chemical composition of the person's tears. Each sensor material is configured to present a tear-based color from a plurality of tear-based colors indicative of a medical condition of the person. In some embodiments, phenylboronic acid could be employed as a sensor material(s). In some embodiments, material(s) emitting radiation when excited by other radiation could be employed as a sensor material. In another aspect, methods for employing the ocular device are disclosed.

Abstract: A system, apparatus and method of improved measurement of the SPF factor of sunscreen compositions. In one embodiment, a method of measuring the protection of a sunscreen composition includes exposing skin to a known intensity of light, measuring the amount of remitted light from the skin, applying sunscreen to the skin, exposing the skin to which the sunscreen has been applied the known intensity of emitted light of the spectrum of light from which the sunscreen is intended to protect the skin, measuring the amount of light remitted from the skin, and calculating a UltraViolet-A Protection Factor (UVA-PF) of the sunscreen by comparing the amount of light remitted from the skin with the sunscreen to the amount of light remitted from the skin without the sunscreen.

Abstract: A fiber optic ferrule includes a body extending from a first end to a second opposite end, with the body including an axial passage extending between the first and second ends. The axial passage includes a first diameter portion having a diameter of at least 125 microns, and a second diameter portion having a diameter of at least 250 microns and less than a diameter of the buffer, the second diameter portion positioned between the first diameter and the second end. The axial passage further defines a tapered shape at the second end extending inward from the second end to the second diameter portion. A hub holds the ferrule. A method of assembling a terminated fiber optic cable is also provided.
