Abstract: Provided herein is an electrochemical cell designed for high current discharge, which includes a cathode strip, an anode strip, and at least two separator strips, being longitudinally stacked to form an electrodes set that is folded into at least four segments and designed to exhibit a ratio of its nominal capacity per its active area lower than 12 mAh/cm2, such that the cell is characterized by a discharge efficiency at room temperature of at least 30% to a cut-off voltage of ? of its original voltage at a discharge current of 1,250 mA. Also provided are process of manufacturing, and uses of the cell, which is particularly useful in high drain-rate applications as charging a cellular phone.
Abstract: A plant or refinery may include equipment such as reactors, heaters, heat exchangers, regenerators, separators, or the like. Types of heat exchangers include shell and tube, plate, plate and shell, plate fin, air cooled, wetted-surface air cooled, or the like. Operating methods may impact deterioration in equipment condition, prolong equipment life, extend production operating time, or provide other benefits. Mechanical or digital sensors may be used for monitoring equipment, and sensor data may be programmatically analyzed to identify developing problems. For example, sensors may be used in conjunction with one or more system components to detect and correct maldistribution, cross-leakage, strain, pre-leakage, thermal stresses, fouling, vibration, problems in liquid lifting, conditions that can affect air-cooled exchangers, conditions that can affect a wetted-surface air-cooled heat exchanger, or the like. An operating condition or mode may be adjusted to prolong equipment life or avoid equipment failure.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus are described providing networking engines. Specifically, the present specification relates to a method for implementing software containers implementing network engines that may be configured to act in a zero-knowledge environment. In such implementations, all information pertaining to the network engine associated with a user that is stored in the container is solely that of a user unless explicitly shared by the user. In some implementations, the containers may be configured to participate in a publish-and-subscribe network in order to share information. In addition, the containers may be provisioned with controls so that global operators may comply with local privacy rules.
Abstract: In one embodiment, software is operable to identify checking account information from a repository, with the checking account information associated with a transaction. The software automatically generates an electronic check image based, at least in part, on the transaction and the identified checking account information. The software is then operable to communicate the electronic check image to a bank of first deposit for deposit.
Abstract: In a see-through waveguide-based HMD device configured to display holographic virtual images within a field of view (FOV) of a device user, a glint-based eye tracker illumination system provides infrared (IR) point sources at known locations having a predetermined angular distribution using optical components—including input and output couplers and diffusers—on a waveguide that is located in front of the user's eyes. An input coupler couples light from an IR source into the illumination system waveguide which is propagated to one or more output couplers. Separate diffuser elements aligned with the output couplers distribute the out-coupled IR light into a deterministic range of divergent angles to function as point sources for eye tracker glints. Various illustrative illumination system waveguide architectures are disclosed in which the optical components can be disposed on the same or opposite sides of the waveguide in dual-layered and dual-sided arrangements.
