Patent number: 11383380Abstract: Example embodiments may relate to methods and systems for selecting a grasp point on an object. In particular, a robotic manipulator may identify characteristics of a physical object within a physical environment. Based on the identified characteristics, the robotic manipulator may determine potential grasp points on the physical object corresponding to points at which a gripper attached to the robotic manipulator is operable to grip the physical object. Subsequently, the robotic manipulator may determine a motion path for the gripper to follow in order to move the physical object to a drop-off location for the physical object and then select a grasp point, from the potential grasp points, based on the determined motion path. After selecting the grasp point, the robotic manipulator may grip the physical object at the selected grasp point with the gripper and move the physical object through the determined motion path to the drop-off location.Type: GrantFiled: November 18, 2019Date of Patent: July 12, 2022Assignee: Intrinsic Innovation LLCInventors: Gary Bradski, Steve Croft, Kurt Konolige, Ethan Rublee, Troy Straszheim, John Zevenbergen, Stefan Hinterstoisser, Hauke Strasdat

Patent number: 11385967Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to a method for managing backup data, an electronic device, and a computer program product. This method comprises: determining a number of times of space recycling operations that have been executed on a backup data block; determining, based on the number of times, a current popularity of the backup data block, the current popularity at least indicating a probability that the backup data block will be recycled in a to-be-executed space recycling operation; and moving, based on a determination that a former storage area where the backup data block is located does not correspond to the current popularity, the backup data block to a target storage area corresponding to the popularity. In this way, data with similar popularity can be managed in a more centralized manner, thereby reducing data rewriting caused by subsequent space recycling.Type: GrantFiled: May 12, 2020Date of Patent: July 12, 2022Assignee: EMC IP HOLDING COMPANY LLCInventors: Jun Tang, Yi Wang, Qingxiao Zheng

Patent number: 11386093Abstract: The automated creation of a dataflow graph of a standing query. Once the standing query dataflow graph is created, events may be flowed into the dataflow graph to execute the standing query. In execution, a store query is accessed. The store query is structured in accordance with a store query language. A syntax graph (such as an abstract syntax tree) of the store query may then be generated. Then, using the syntax graph and a set of rules of the store query language, the dataflow graph is automatically generated. This significant speeds up and makes more easy and efficient the conversion of a store query into a standing query.Type: GrantFiled: February 22, 2018Date of Patent: July 12, 2022Assignee: Microsoft Technology Licensing, LLCInventors: Gueorgui B. Patent number: 11383836Abstract: Methods of determining a final space reservation for a new aircraft are disclosed. The methods include using parametric definitions of potential payloads to generate a population of representative payloads for use in creating an initial space reservation. The methods include accounting for and applying a variety of margins on each potential payload and taking the union of potential payloads. Alternatively, the union can be taken first and then the margins applied. A homogenous space reservation can be determined based upon a variety of differently shaped or sized payloads, including a margin build-up to mitigate risk of unknowns associated with future changes in specific payload shapes and sizes, build tolerances, environmental conditions, and/or loading and unloading motions and clearances. Once this space reservation is known, it is possible to design an external shape of a carrying vehicle by staying outside of this space reservation.Type: GrantFiled: August 24, 2021Date of Patent: July 12, 2022Assignee: ZSM HOLDINGS LLCInventors: Scott David Rewerts, Etan D. Patent number: 11386609Abstract: An approach using 3D algorithms to solve 2D head localization problems is disclosed. A system can extrapolate aspects of one part of an object, e.g., extract characteristics of a person's head, using a 2D input image of another part of the object, e.g., a 2D image of the person's face. The system then selects an appropriate 3D model by the use of facial features detected in an image of a person's face. Using the selected 3D model and the 3D rotation angles provided by a face detector, the system rotates the model and then projects the model to a 2D shape. The system then scales and translates, e.g., transforms, the 2D shape to match the 2D face bounding box. Then, using the transformed 2D shape, the system extracts a bounding box for the extracted portion of an object, e.g., the head of the person depicted in the 2D input image.Type: GrantFiled: December 30, 2020Date of Patent: July 12, 2022Assignee: MICROSOFT TECHNOLOGY LICENSING, LLCInventors: Mattan Serry, Zvi Figov, Irit Ofer

Patent number: 11383076Abstract: Disclosed are techniques to generate ideal or near ideal profiles for regulation of the volume of fluid flow in a drive system of a pump for an externally mechanically supported heart, pressure in or near the pump, or measured strain/strain rates of the supported heart, based on an estimate/measurement of the heart's size. A part of the techniques for regulation may focus on achieving mechanical synchrony with the intrinsic cyclic pump function of a partially functional heart. The techniques do not fundamentally rely on hemodynamic measurements to function. However, when hemodynamic measures are available, those measures can be fed to control algorithms to increase the efficacy of regulation to restore the heart's pump function.Type: GrantFiled: March 22, 2021Date of Patent: July 12, 2022Assignee: LifeBridge Technologies, LLCInventor: Mark P.
