Abstract: A vehicle includes an engine having a crankshaft, an electric machine having a rotor, a disconnect clutch having an input secured to the crankshaft and an output secured to the rotor, a hydraulic pump mechanically powered via rotation of the rotor and configured to supply hydraulic fluid to the actuate the disconnect clutch, a torque converter having an impeller secured to the rotor, and controller. The controller is programmed to, responsive to a speed of the impeller decreasing to less than a first threshold, which is indicative of a subsequent shutdown of the hydraulic pump, and responsive to the disconnect clutch being open while the engine is shut down, advance the disconnect clutch to a touch point where opposing sides of disconnect clutch make contact but substantially zero power is transferred between the engine and the electric machine.

Abstract: A sealable container system contains a body and a lid assembly. The body includes an internal volume defined by bottom and side wall(s), bump(s) on the inside surface of the side wall and projecting toward the internal volume, and a lid with outer and inner walls at its bottom side with a channel in-between. A gasket couples to the lid with a wall portion residing within the channel and a lip outside the channel. When the lid assembly is pressed into the body, the lip of the gasket engages the bumps and deforms, and a gap forms between the lip and the side wall, where air in the internal volume exits through the gap. When the lip of the gasket travels past the bumps, the lip fully seats against the inside surface of the side wall, where negative air pressure is imparted to the internal volume of the body.

Abstract: Systems and methods for determining fluid rheological characteristics of a fluid used in a subsurface operation are provided. The methods include measuring temperature, pressure, and at least one of a flow rate and a flow velocity of the fluid in a first fluid circuit. A model is based on the temperature, the pressures, and the flow rate or flow velocity. The fluid rheological characteristic of the fluid in a second fluid circuit is determined by measuring a temperature and flow rate and/or flow velocity in the second fluid circuit. The rheological characteristic of the fluid is calculated based on the model employing the temperature and the flow rate/flow velocity of the second fluid circuit.

Abstract: System and methods for alerting a healthcare provider to prescribed treatments having reduced or no effectiveness due to genetic composition is provided. A database containing treatments known to have reduced or no efficacy in persons having particular genetic markers is queried to determine whether any treatments prescribed by, or likely to be prescribed by, a healthcare provider to the patient are known to have reduced or no efficacy in persons having the same genetic markers as the patient. An alert containing such information is displayed at a healthcare provider system.

Abstract: NDE probes provide unique data signals from a remote object such that can be used to accurately and precisely locate a position. With a computer processor, the data signals are converted into a positional fingerprint that is compact and easily analyzed as a file or information of probe position. The positional fingerprint is stored in association with the position or object to verify a same position at another time. Another probe detects other data signals for the object at another time. Under a similar transformation into a positional fingerprint, the position of the other probe can be matched to the first by comparing positional fingerprints. The comparison may use a probabilistic comparison and/or compare several different fingerprints from several different locations and times to ensure a best match. Position verification between probes may ensure a repair has been completed in the proper location, verify system integrity or investigate potential problems.

Abstract: An LTE network extension (LNE) system includes an LTE access gateway (LAG) and a provisioned database. A plurality of LTE access radios in the LNE system broadcast the same shared PLMN ID (sPLMN ID). The sPLMN ID corresponds to a plurality of service provider core networks, each with a different PLMN. The provisioned database includes information identifying which networks are allowed to use the LNE system and includes service provider network address information. An LTE access radio, transmitting the sPLMN ID detects an attach request from a UE, and forwards the attach request to the LAG, which decides if access is to be allowed, based on a service provider home network PLMN included in an IMSI in the attach request and information in the provisioned database. If access is allowed, the LAG serves as a proxy between the LTE access radio and the UE's service provider home network.

Abstract: In non-limiting examples of the present disclosure, systems, methods and devices for surfacing content related to electronic calendar events are presented. An electronic calendar event library may be maintained. One or more calendar events that meet threshold time criteria in relation to a current time may be identified. One or more rules may be applied to the identified events to determine whether contextual information and/or actions should be surfaced in relation to those events. In some examples, an event priority score may be calculated for each of the identified events. Contextual information and/or actions associated with events with event priority scores that exceed a threshold value may be surfaced. The contextual information and/or actions may be prioritized based on the event priority scores.

Abstract: Techniques for implementing and/or installing a system including pipe segment tubing and a swaged pipe fitting secured to the pipe segment tubing. The pipe segment tubing includes a carcass layer, an internal pressure sheath layer disposed around the carcass layer, a reinforcement layer disposed around the internal pressure sheath layer, and an outer sheath layer disposed around the reinforcement layer. The swaged pipe fitting includes a fitting body that defines a bore, an internal pressure sheath seal that seals the internal pressure sheath layer of the pipe segment tubing within the swaged pipe fitting, and a fitting jacket secured to the fitting body, in which the fitting jacket is conformally deformed around the pipe segment tubing to anchor the reinforcement layer of the pipe segment tubing in the swaged pipe fitting.

Abstract: A cockpit pressurization and oxygen warning system includes a cabin pressure input and an aircraft pressure input. A pilot interface includes a first visual indicator having a first recognizable characteristic disposed in a first position that is made visually perceptible when a first signal is asserted and a second visual indicator having a second recognizable characteristic esthetically different from the first recognizable characteristic and disposed in a second position different from the first position that is made visually perceptible when a second signal is asserted. A control circuit that is responsive to the cabin pressure input and the aircraft pressure input determines an acceptable range for the cabin altitude that corresponds to the aircraft altitude. The control circuit asserts the first signal when the cabin altitude is within the acceptable range and asserts the second signal when the cabin altitude is not within the acceptable range.

An outlet port is below the inlet port for connection to a lower control line segment extending below the pocket. A filter assembly is lowered through the production tubing into the pocket. A valve at a lower end of the pocket is movable from a closed position closing the outlet port to an open position opening the outlet port. A probe mounted to a lower end of the filter assembly engages and pushes the valve from the closed position to the open position while the filter assembly is being seated in the pocket.

Abstract: A method of operating a mass spectrometer that allows for high-speed operation is disclosed. The method consists in separating the various steps needed to produce a mass spectrum into three or more conceptual stages in a pipeline, such that the instrument is performing steps to process more than two precursor-ion species simultaneously. In general, the number of stages in the pipeline should at least one more and, preferably, at least two more than the number of buffering storage devices in the instrument. The presently-taught methods and apparatus allow for nearly 100% duty cycle of ion accumulation for precursors of interest.

Abstract: A controllable stiffness catheter includes a shaft comprising inner and outer sheaths, the sheaths each having proximal and distal ends. The outer surrounds the inner from the proximal to the distal end of the inner sheath, defining an annulus therebetween including a proximal portion having a vacuum connection to which vacuum is applied. The distal ends of the sheaths are longitudinally fixed to one another and sized for neurological vascular procedures. The outer has a substantially constant outer diameter over a distal portion of the annulus proximate to the distal ends. A vacuum device fluidically connects to the vacuum connection and is configured to apply vacuum thereto. Responsive to vacuum, annulus pressure lowers to draw the sheaths toward one another and stiffen the shaft over at least the distal portion to substantially and passively stiffen and maintain a current shape of the shaft over at least the distal portion.

The invention provides a safety system comprising a generator that generates a magnetic field that establishes a boundary, where the generator is capable of receiving radio frequency signals. Also provided is a radio frequency device that sends radio frequency signals, the radio frequency device being capable of sensing the magnetic field and generating a radio frequency response.

The host may run the z/OS operating system. The host may automatically fail over to a storage system by switching subchannel sets.
