  • Patent number: 11274663
Abstract: Systems and methods for generating and a controller for controlling generation of geothermal power in an organic Rankine cycle (ORC) operation in the vicinity of a wellhead during hydrocarbon production to thereby supply electrical power to one or more of in-field operational equipment, a grid power structure, and an energy storage device. In an embodiment, during hydrocarbon production, a temperature of a flow of wellhead fluid from the wellhead or working fluid may be determined. If the temperature is above a vaporous phase change threshold of the working fluid, heat exchanger valves may be opened to divert flow of wellhead fluid to heat exchangers to facilitate heat transfer from the flow of wellhead fluid to working fluid through the heat exchangers, thereby to cause the working fluid to change from a liquid to vapor, the vapor to cause a generator to generate electrical power via rotation of an expander.

  • Patent number: 11273837
Abstract: In one embodiment, a method of generating a path for an autonomous driving vehicle (ADV) is disclosed. The method includes obtaining vehicle configuration of the ADV. The vehicle configuration includes a longitudinal state of the ADV and a lateral state of the ADV relative to a discretized point along a reference line. The method further includes estimating one or more boundaries for the lateral state of the ADV with respect to the longitudinal state of the ADV. The estimation of the boundaries includes obtaining vehicle parameters and sensor data of the ADV, using a vehicle kinematic model to estimate the boundaries based on the vehicle parameters and the sensor data, and outputting the estimated boundaries. The method further includes generating an optimal path to control the ADV based on the vehicle configuration and the estimated boundaries.

  • Patent number: 11276073
Abstract: An example apparatus includes a matrix processor in circuit with a probability generator to determine a first matrix representative of element-wise multiplication between a constraint matrix and a first transpose matrix of the estimated demographic impression distribution, the constraint matrix based on the reference demographic impression distribution and determine a second matrix by multiplying the first matrix with a second transpose matrix of the constraint matrix. The apparatus further includes an error determiner in circuit with the matrix processor, the error determiner to determine an error indicator value based on the second matrix, the error indicator value indicative of an error associated with the estimated demographic impression distribution, and a probability generator to generate, in response to the error indicator value satisfying a threshold, an accuracy-improved demographic impression distribution.

  • Patent number: 11276982
Abstract: A doped fiber amplifier is proposed that includes both a Ho-doped amplifier (used as a preamplifier) and a Tm-doped amplifier (used as a power amplifier). The Ho-doped preamplifier typically uses a single clad (SC) optical fiber as the gain element, with both the propagating signal and pump beam introduced into the Ho-doped core of the SC fiber. The Tm-doped power amplifier typically utilizes a double clad (DC) optical fiber as the gain element, which allows for a multimode pump to propagate within the Tm-doped core region and inner cladding, providing efficient high power amplification of the signal received at its input.

  • Patent number: 11272788
Abstract: A method is provided for enhancing comfort of a seat with a hip/thigh support and a back support. The method includes providing a seating pad assembly with a foam cushion made at least partly of a viscoelastic foam and having a cover formed from a dimensionally stable non-stretch material. An upper area of the seating pad assembly is attached to an upper area of the seat back. Pelvic and upper back areas of a person sitting on the seat deform the viscoelastic foam sufficiently to provide a comfortable support and to define anchors for the seating pad assembly. The non-stretch cover extends between those anchors for effectively supporting and cradling the lumbar back area of the person in the seat above and forward of the corner between the seat back and the hip/thigh support.
