Publication number: 20220066568Abstract: Various embodiments wirelessly detect micro gestures using multiple antenna of a gesture sensor device. At times, the gesture sensor device transmits multiple outgoing radio frequency (RF) signals, each outgoing RF signal transmitted via a respective antenna of the gesture sensor device. The outgoing RF signals are configured to help capture information that can be used to identify micro-gestures performed by a hand. The gesture sensor device captures incoming RF signals generated by the outgoing RF signals reflecting off of the hand, and then analyzes the incoming RF signals to identify the micro-gesture.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 10, 2021Publication date: March 3, 2022Applicant: Google LLCInventors: Jaime Lien, Nicholas Edward Gillian, Ivan Poupyrev

Publication number: 20220063367Abstract: A hydraulic damper with one end connected to the body of a vehicle and a second end connected to a suspension system of a vehicle. The mechanism allows for multiple hydraulic-fluid metering valve positions to control piston resistance based on a variable pressure input using pressurized gas. The use of compressed gas to mechanically control a valve position allows changes to the piston resistance to be made quickly and to be increased or decreased as desired. The hydraulic damper features a control piston which in turn mechanically controls a valve needle within a hydraulic suspension piston. The position of the valve needle controls the damping characteristics of the suspension piston. When the control piston moves, the position of the valve needle is proportionally adjusted.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 30, 2021Publication date: March 3, 2022Applicant: AFCO Performance Group, LLCInventor: Alan Jeffrey Wilber

Publication number: 20220063631Abstract: A sensor-fusion approach of using Brain Machine Interface (BMI) to gain a higher resolution perspective of chassis input control is described according to the present disclosure. Traditional chassis control inputs, such as steering wheel, brake and driver state monitoring sensors can calculate input but often cannot well predict intent. By interpreting well known motor command signals, it can become clear how much chassis input the driver was intending to provide. The BMI may monitor motor cortex to identity when a muscular movement is imminent, such as the movement of the arms to grasp the steering wheel. This combination would enable faster and more precise intent calculation. Additionally, information from driver wearable devices may be used to supplement the determination. This allows for a faster response and well as better integration with the driver.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 31, 2020Publication date: March 3, 2022Applicant: Ford Global Technologies, LLCInventors: Ali Hassani, Aniruddh Ravindran, Vijay Nagasamy

Publication number: 20220066469Abstract: Systems and methods are provided herein for platooning vehicles or other types of nodes. The platooning may involve receiving a request from a vehicle to initiate a platoon. In response to the request, another vehicle may indicate a desire to form the platoon with the requesting vehicle. Before the platoon is formed, a verification process may be performed to determine the eligibility of the vehicle to join a platoon, which may be based on a rating associated with the vehicle. Once the vehicle is verified, the platoon may be established. Upon establishment, the vehicles may proceed to coordinate actions, and a lead vehicle may be identified for the platoon. Vehicles may request to join and leave the platoon throughout the lifetime of the platoon. The platoon may eventually be dismissed, for example if the lead vehicle leaves the platoon and no one vehicle is willing and/or able to serve as lead vehicle.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 31, 2020Publication date: March 3, 2022Applicant: Ford Global Technologies, LLCInventors: Mahmoud Yousef Ghannam, Brian Bennie, Pramita Mitra
