Abstract: A system may include a memory and a processor cooperating therewith to obtain geospatial image data from a plurality of different types of sensors and generate a three-dimensional (3D) geospatial model therefrom. The processor may further determine a reference image within the 3D geospatial model based upon synthetically positioning an image sensor within the 3D geospatial model, and perform change detection between a collected image and the reference image based upon semantic change detection using deep learning.

Abstract: A vehicle includes a thermal energy management system with first and second thermal fluid loops. The first thermal fluid loop includes a coolant pump configured to circulate a coolant through a vehicle battery and a chiller. The second thermal fluid loop is configured to circulate a refrigerant through the chiller, a compressor, and at least one condenser. The controller is configured to control the thermal energy management system according to a passenger compartment cooling mode and a battery cooling mode. In the passenger compartment cooling mode the compressor is operated at a first power setting. In the battery cooling mode the compressor is operated at a second power setting and the chiller is controlled to transfer thermal energy from the first thermal fluid loop to the second fluid thermal loop. The second power setting is less than the first power setting.
Abstract: A turf management system for a multi-climate environment including respective micro-climates at different green surfaces that are remote from one another includes a plurality of local control circuits including respective communication interfaces that are configured to receive sensor data from environmental sensors that are locally positioned at the different green surfaces, and a central control circuit that is configured to be communicatively coupled to the local control circuits. The central control circuit includes a network interface that is configured to receive data indicating differing local conditions at the respective micro-climates from the local control circuits, and a processor that is configured to aggregate the data indicating the differing local conditions at the respective micro-climates for output to a user interface. Related circuits, methods of operation, and computer program products are also discussed.

Abstract: This disclosure provides devices and methods for implementing a robotic doll head. An implementation of the doll head can have a face mask having a pair of integral eyelids and an eyeball actuation frame supporting a pair of moveable eye assemblies. Each moveable eye assembly can have an eyeball element and an eyelid actuator assembly. The eyelid actuator assembly can have an eyelid support that can be coupled to an interior surface of one integral eyelid of the pair of integral eyelids. The eyelid actuator assembly can have a drive band configured to magnetically couple to the eyelid support and move the drive band in an arcuate path to blink the integral eyelids. The moveable eye assemblies can be offset from a centerline of the doll head by a separation angle by the eyeball actuation frame.
Abstract: A solution polymerization process for producing ethylene-based polymer includes introducing ethylene monomer, hydrocarbon solvent, and Ziegler-Natta catalyst into an entrance of a solution polymerization reactor. An ethylene-based polymer is produced by solution polymerizing the ethylene monomer in hydrocarbon solvent. Subsequently, a catalyst deactivator is introduced into x the exit of the solution polymerization reactor, thereby producing hydrochloric acid byproduct. The catalyst deactivator includes long chain carboxylate and at least one cation selected from Groups 1, 2, and 12 of the IUPAC periodic table, with the exception of calcium. The catalyst deactivator reduces the effectiveness of the Ziegler-Natta catalyst and neutralizes the hydrochloric acid by forming a chloride salt other than calcium chloride.

Abstract: A computer-implemented technique for animating a visual representation of a face based on spoken words of a speaker is described herein. A computing device receives an audio sequence comprising content features reflective of spoken words uttered by a speaker. The computing device generates latent content variables and latent style variables based upon the audio sequence. The latent content variables are used to synchronized movement of lips on the visual representation to the spoken words uttered by the speaker. The latent style variables are derived from an expected appearance of facial features of the speaker as the speaker utters the spoken words and are used to synchronize movement of full facial features of the visual representation to the spoken words uttered by the speaker. The computing device causes the visual representation of the face to be animated on a display based upon the latent content variables and the latent style variables.

Abstract: A method and system for optimizing structural parameters of a physical device is described. The method includes receiving an initial description of the physical device that describes structural parameters of the physical device within a simulated environment. The method further includes performing an operational simulation of the physical device in response to an excitation source, performing an adjoint simulation by backpropagating a placeholder metric through a simulated environment to determine a loss gradient, updating the loss gradient based, at least in part, on a loss metric determined from the operational simulation. Additionally, the method further comprises computing a structural gradient corresponding to an influence of changes in the structural parameters on the loss metric and generating a revised description of the physical device by updating the structural parameters based on the structural gradient to reduce the loss metric.

Abstract: A method includes detecting a plurality of events associated assets of an enterprise system and generating database record structures based on the detected events, each database record structure comprising a first field storing an association key identifying one of the assets, a second field storing a first timestamp associated with a first detected event stored in that database record structure for its identified asset, and at least a third field storing a value associated with a second detected event stored in that database record structure for its identified asset.
