  • Patent number: 11240358
Abstract: An electronic device includes a first touch sensitive display positioned on a first major surface of the electronic device and a second touch sensitive display positioned on a second major surface of the electronic device, or alternatively a single display wrapping about the first major surface and the second major surface. One or more processors cause a presentation of content on the first touch sensitive display while the one or more sensors receive user input. In response to the user input, which can be received by the second touch sensitive display, the one or more processors cease the presentation of the content on the first touch sensitive display and commence another presentation of the content on the second touch sensitive display. The process is reversible to send the content back to the first touch sensitive display.

  • Patent number: 11236014
Abstract: Certain example embodiments relate to ultra-fast laser treatment of silver-inclusive (low-emissivity) low-E coatings, coated articles including such coatings, and/or associated methods. The low-E coating is formed on a substrate (e.g., borosilicate or soda lime silica glass), with the low-E coating including at least one sputter-deposited silver-based layer, and with each said silver-based layer being sandwiched between one or more dielectric layers. The low-E coating is exposed to laser pulses having a duration of no more than 10?12 seconds, a wavelength of 355-500 nm, and an energy density of more than 30 kW/cm2. The exposing is performed so as to avoid increasing temperature of the low-E coating to more than 300 degrees C. while also reducing (a) grain boundaries with respect to, and vacancies in, each said silver-based layer, (b) each said silver-based layer's refractive index, and (c) emissivity of the low-E coating compared to its as-deposited form.

  • Patent number: 11238703
Abstract: Methods and systems are provided herewith for managing a wagering system. In one exemplary embodiment, a stream of state information of a live sporting event is received in real time. A computer processor determines an initial state and a plurality of possible future states of a first performance parameter of the live sporting event based on the stream of state information. After a beginning of the game and before the start of the event, a probability of occurrence is calculated for at least one of the plurality of possible future states of the first performance parameter based on historical data related to the first performance parameter. The plurality of possible future states are mutually exclusive from one another. During an initial state of the first performance parameter, a signal operative to open a first market for betting on the at least one of the plurality of possible future states is transmitted. The first market comprises betting odds based on the calculated probability of occurrence.

  • Patent number: 11234770
Abstract: Systems and methods for femoral medial condyle spherical center identification and tracking are described herein. Once the spherical center of the medial condyle is identified, the spherical center is tracked using a pin or internal reference. The spherical center may be used to provide a key kinematic motion reference, such as when the medial condyle is adjusted during a surgical procedure. The tracking may be used to provide optical tracking, inertial tracking, or other tracking. In contrast with surface-mounted optical trackers, the spherical center tracking is not lost during resection (e.g., removal) of a bone surface. Tracking the medial condyle spherical center may reduce or eliminate the need for a surface-mounted optical tracker or preoperative 3-D modeling or of the joint.

  • Patent number: 11236863
Abstract: An improved system and method for the automated refilling of cryogenic helium is provided. In one embodiment, the system includes a dewar in fluid communication with a liquid helium cryostat through a cryogen transfer line. A controller regulates operation of a three-way valve to pre-cool the transfer line and to cause gaseous helium to flow to the dewar and force liquid helium through the transfer line into the cryostat. The controller is coupled to the output of a cryogenic level sensor, such that the controller regulates the helium liquid level within the cryostat. During filling cycles, the dewar liquid level is also monitored by the cryogenic level sensor and an alarm sounds if the dewar liquid level is undesirably low. Between filling cycles, the controller is operable to ventilate the dewar through a solenoid vent valve in fixed time intervals to ensure the dewar pressure is sufficiently low so as to not bleed liquid helium into the cryostat.

  • Patent number: 11240244
Abstract: Embodiments disclosed herein are related to computing systems and methods for providing a presentation interrupt for a DID attestation. A DID attestation is accessed that is issued by a first entity of a decentralized network. The DID attestation defines information that has been generated by the first entity about a DID owner who is the subject of the DID attestation. The DID attestation includes interrupt metadata that directs that the first entity be contacted prior to the DID owner being able to present the DID attestation to a second entity of the decentralized network. In response to the DID owner attempting to present the DID attestation to the second entity, the first entity is contacted as directed by the interrupt metadata. Authorization information is received from the first entity. The authorization information indicates if the DID owner is able to present the DID attestation to the second entity.

  • Patent number: 11236575
Abstract: The disclosure relates to a rotating control device used in a drilling system having a non-rotating tubular RCD housing enclosing an elongate passage. A mandrel rotatably extends along the passage about an axis. A seal assembly seals the RCD housing to the mandrel and provides first and second seals against the mandrel's exterior surface. The first and second seals are spaced parallel to the mandrel's axis to create space between the mandrel and the first and second seals. The first seal has a first side exposed to fluid pressure in the RCD housing and a second side exposed to fluid in the space between the seals. The second seal has a first side exposed to fluid pressure in the space between the seals and a second side exposed to fluid pressure at the exterior of the RCD housing. A pressure stepping mechanism supplies fluid to the space between the two seals.

  • Patent number: 11237417
Abstract: A switchable privacy display for an automotive vehicle comprises a spatial light modulator, a first switchable liquid crystal retarder and first passive retarder arranged between a first pair of polarisers and a second switchable liquid crystal retarder and second passive retarder arranged between a second pair of polarisers. A first switchable liquid crystal retarder comprises a two homeotropic alignment layers and a second switchable liquid crystal retarder comprises two homogeneous alignment layers. In a privacy mode of operation, on-axis light from the spatial light modulator is directed without loss to the passenger, whereas off-axis light has reduced luminance to reduce the visibility of the display to off-axis driver leaning towards the display. In a shared mode of operation, the liquid crystal layers are controlled so that off-axis luminance and reflectivity are unmodified.
