Abstract: Devices and methods are disclosed for high power inverter modules with enhanced thermal and mechanical performance, for use in electric vehicles. The disclosed devices feature enlarged clips that cover an entire die, to distribute mechanical forces, thus preventing die cracks for improved reliability. In these power modules, semiconductor dies are sandwiched between a three-layer direct bond metal (DBM) structure and the enlarged clip. A pre-molded clip assembly can be used that includes integrated metalliization to eliminate the need for external wire bonds. Alternatively, semiconductor dies can be inverted in a flip-chip configuration to face a modified DBM structure that integrates the metallization. Simulations of the disclosed power inverters indicate improved efficiency in dissipating heat.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and controllers for detecting and mitigating well screen outs may include a controller configured to operate a fracturing pump to supply fluid at a discharge rate to a wellhead at a fracturing well site. The controller may also operate a blender positioned to deliver a blend of proppant and fluid to the fracturing pump. The controller may compare a fluid pressure increase rate to a preselected increase rate indicative of a potential well screen out. The controller may incrementally decrease the discharge rate of the fracturing pump and a flow rate of a blender when the fluid pressure increase rate of the wellhead exceeds the preselected increase rate and the fluid pressure is within a preselected percentage of a maximum wellhead pressure until the fluid pressure of the fluid supplied to the wellhead is stabilized.

Abstract: An electronic lock that includes a hybrid capacitor in the power supply circuit that also includes a battery as the primary source of electrical power. A Li-SOCl2 battery is used as the primary power source, and the hybrid capacitor is used as a secondary (or backup) power source, and the power supply circuit disclosed herein overcomes many of the shortcomings of those two individual power sources. A proper combination of these two solutions is very complimentary in terms of delivering the power needs of electronic lock systems over a wide temperature range, operational conditions, and battery discharge states. The results obtained by use of this type of power supply circuit are increased primary battery longevity, increased performance at low temperatures, easier battery level sensing of the primary Li-SOCl2 cell, as well as overcoming the voltage delay that is present in primary batteries of this chemistry.

Abstract: Novel tools and techniques are provided for implementing block-level, bit-mapped binary data access for parallel processing. In various embodiments, a computing system may cause a plurality of compute nodes to perform one or more tasks (e.g., artificial intelligence (“AI”) and/or machine learning (“ML”) tasks) on portions of decompressed data, after causing some, but not all, of the compute nodes to decompress the entire compressed data. In some cases, the computing system may cause each compute node to decompress portions of the compressed data. Once the data has been decompressed and/or bit-mapped, each compute node may be caused to perform at least one task (e.g., AI/ML task) on its assigned portion of the decompressed data. Abstract: A charging handle assembly and handguard for Armalite (AR) style rifles or other similarly designed firearms is provided. The charging handle assembly includes at least one charging handle, at least one charging handle plate, and charging rod. The charging handle assembly is designed such that it is repositioned to a location, within the handguard, in front of the bolt carrier group of the firearm. More specifically, the repositioned charging handle assembly operates in a non-reciprocating fashion. When the user transitions the charging handle assembly from a first position to a second position, i.e., pulls the charging handle in a first or rearward direction within an elongated receiving slot in the hand guard, the charging rod pushes a front end of the bolt carrier group in the first direction thereby compressing the spring, such that the spring launches the bolt carrier group into a charged position thereby charging the firearm.

Abstract: For security reasons, a one-way Ethernet communication link is implemented to segregate edge devices for an autonomous vehicle (AV) from the AV compute system. A non-feature rich backchannel allows very limited amounts of data to be transmitted from the edge devices side to the AV compute side. It is a challenge to query information about the edge devices when the backchannel only allows enumerated type data values to be transmitted. To address this concern, the customer-facing access point includes a relay endpoint that operates as a proxy to a web server that manages the edge devices and encodes responses as enumerated type data values to be transmitted over the backchannel.
