Abstract: A fiber optic adapter includes an adapter body defining a port leading to an alignment structure. The optical adapter also defines a platform disposed at the first port. The platform is recessed inwardly from an outer periphery of the adapter body. The platform includes latching members having catch surfaces. A fiber optic connector includes a connector plug body holding an optical fiber. The connector also includes a latching arm having a latching end that defines two rearwardly facing catch surfaces separated by a central webbing, which extends along a length of the latching arm. The rearwardly facing catch surfaces align with the catch surfaces of the latching members when the fiber optic connector is received at the fiber optic adapter.

Abstract: In one general aspect, a method can include determining that a computing device is in a stationary position for a predetermined time, placing the computing device in a first power mode, detecting input from at least one sensor included in the computing device, identifying at least one application to launch on the computing device based on the detected input and on a heuristic-based usage pattern for the computing device, and transitioning the computing device from the first power mode to a second power mode based on the detected input. The transitioning can include automatically launching the at least one application on the computing device. The at least one application can provide content for display on a display device included in the computing device.

Abstract: Technique determine (or detect) duplicated data. The techniques involve: in response to determining that data at a first position in input data is the same as predetermined data, determining a feature value of a selected portion of input data; determining whether the feature value matches with a pre-stored duplicated data pattern in a duplicated data pattern list; and in response to determining that the feature value matches with the duplicated data pattern, determining an association of the input data with reference data which is associated with the matched pattern.
Abstract: A histologic tissue sample support device includes a tissue cassette a frame, and a lid. The tissue cassette has a recess including a body with at least one side wall and a bottom wall and is formed of material that can be successfully sectioned in a microtome and is resistant to degradation from solvents and chemicals used to fix, process and stain tissue. The tissue cassette is movably coupled to the frame. The lid is separably coupled to a peripheral portion of the frame. When the lid is separated from the peripheral portion, the lid and the tissue cassette are capable of moving from a first position to a second position with respect to the frame, and in the second position the bottom wall and at least a portion of the side wall extend beyond a bottom edge of the frame for sectioning in the microtome.
Abstract: Pulling eyes are provided with integrated wiring systems suitable for installing conductors or cables. The pulling eyes may include body portions that define interior cavities that are sized to snugly engage outside portions of the conductors or cables. The body portions are sized to be deformably crimped onto the outside portions of the conductors or cables. The pulling eyes may also include head portions joined to the body portions, with the head portions defining apertures for receiving a strength member for installing the conductors or cables. These apertures place the interior cavities in communication with the exteriors of the pulling eyes.

Abstract: In one embodiment, a method for performing an obstacle detection for an ADV includes detecting an obstacle by a primary ADS and a secondary ADS using an obstacle detection algorithm based on sensor data provided by sensors on the ADV. In response to detecting the obstacle, a first controlled stop distance and a second controlled stop distance are calculated by the primary ADS and secondary ADS respectively based on a speed and a deceleration capability of the ADV. The first and second controlled stop distances between the primary ADS and secondary ADS are exchanged to determine a third controlled stop distance which is the maximum of the two. In response to determining that the ADV reaches within the third controlled distance between the ADV and the obstacle, a controlled stop operation is activated by the primary ADS to decelerate the ADV based on the third controlled stop distance.
Abstract: A surgical tissue connector system for moving a first internal body tissue to a position away from a second internal body tissue and then holding the first internal body tissue in the position. Tissue connectors are secured to cords such that the length of cord between the tissue connectors can be easily adjusted in a laparoscopic work space.
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for a mechanical circulatory support system are disclosed herein. An implantable power supply can be part of a mechanical circulatory support system. The implantable power supply can include one or several energy storage components, a power source, a voltage converter, and an output bus. Power can be provided to the voltage converter from one or both of the power source and the first energy storage component. The voltage converter can convert the voltage of the power from a first voltage to a second voltage and can power the output bus.
Abstract: Acoustic mediums are disclosed herein. The acoustic mediums can include a plurality of layers. The layers of the acoustic mediums can include fibrous acoustic materials that are entangled throughout the layer. In certain instances, the layers of the acoustic medium can include first portion of acoustic materials disposed along a first plane, and a second portion of acoustic materials disposed along a second plane. Methods of fabricating multi-layer acoustic mediums are also disclosed.
