  • Patent number: 11223811
Abstract: A transcoder resource retrieves content stored in a repository. The stored content can be encoded in accordance with a first encoding format. The transcoder resource transcodes the retrieved content into a second encoding format. To increase available capacity, the transcoder resource stores the content in the second encoding format as a replacement to the content encoded according to the first encoding format. The second encoding format can support a higher compression ratio than the first encoding format. Additionally, the transcoding can be performed as one of multiple tasks executed in parallel. In such an instance, during parallel processing, a content management resource interleaves execution of the main processing task and the background task of transcoding the content into the second encoding format. The transcoding task can be assigned a lower execution priority than one or more other tasks executed in parallel.

  • Patent number: 11223395
Abstract: Embodiments herein disclose systems, methods, and computer-readable media for automatically adjusting settings of antenna elements to reduce radio link failures. In embodiments, a base station monitors radio link failures occurring at the base station that are associated with a first technology, such as 5G protocol. When the radio link failures meet or exceed a predefined or predetermined threshold, the base station may adjust a portion of antenna elements in an antenna array controlled by the base station, in some embodiments. For example, the base station may only adjust those antenna elements in the antenna array that are associated with the first technology, while other antenna elements in the same antenna array that are associated with a second technology, such as 4G protocol, are not adjusted.

  • Patent number: 11221786
Abstract: Data protection operations based on direct storage access. Data protection operations that involve large data transfers are optimized or improved by transferring the data using a communication path that includes direct access to disks of a storage array. This avoids latencies associated with transferring data through the layers of the storage array. The locations of the data to be transferred are identified and provided to an appliance. The appliance can then read and transfer the data over a communication path that includes direct disk access.

  • Patent number: 11220245
Abstract: Devices, systems, and methods are described that provide an braking system for a motor vehicle. The braking system extends a friction device from beneath the vehicle to contact the driving surface. Orientation of the friction device and forces applied to the braking device can be adjusted during the braking procedure. In some braking devices forces generated during braking are directed to a load bearing arm and supporting frame, thereby minimizing damage to actuating devices. The friction device can be retracted after use, permitting normal vehicle operation.

  • Patent number: 11222637
Abstract: Implementations herein relate to pre-caching data, corresponding to predicted interactions between a user and an automated assistant, using data characterizing previous interactions between the user and the automated assistant. An interaction can be predicted based on details of a current interaction between the user and an automated assistant. One or more predicted interactions can be initialized, and/or any corresponding data pre-cached, prior to the user commanding the automated assistant in furtherance of the predicted interaction. Interaction predictions can be generated using a user-parameterized machine learning model, which can be used when processing input(s) that characterize a recent user interaction with the automated assistant.

  • Patent number: 11219412
Abstract: This document describes techniques for, and systems that enable, in-ear health monitoring. The techniques described herein enable early detection of health conditions (e.g., contagious disease) through use of an in-ear health-monitoring and audio device. These techniques prompt a user, often through the user's smart phone, to listen to audio content through the device, which also takes the user's temperature. Through repetitive use, the techniques are capable of determining a temperature differential for the user, which aids in early detection of a contagious disease or other malady.
