Abstract: An insulating container having a base and a lid is provided. The lid may be rotatable about a hinge from a closed configuration to an open configuration and may be secured, via one or more latching devices, in the closed configuration. In some examples, the insulating container further includes a pressure regulation device. In other examples, the latching devices further include an elastomeric latch upper and a semi-rigid latch lower configured to engage an insulating container keeper when the lid is in a closed and a secured position. In still other examples, the latch upper and the latch lower are configured in a recessed position, and flush with a front side of the insulating container lid and flush with a front side of a bottom portion of the insulating container when the latch device secures the lid in a closed position.

Abstract: In one aspect the present disclosure relates to a method of manufacturing a cryogenic pressure vessel. The method may include providing a metal lined, composite wrapped vessel which has a boss. The method may further include securing an inlet to the boss, and then encapsulating the metal lined, composite wrapped vessel within a metallic layer in a vacuum controlled environment to form an encapsulated inner tank subassembly. The method may further include securing at least one support to an exterior of the encapsulated inner tank subassembly, and within the controlled vacuum environment, applying a metal coating over the encapsulated inner tank subassembly and the at least one support to form a metal coated, encapsulated inner tank subassembly. The method may further include, within the controlled vacuum environment, encapsulating the metal coated, encapsulated inner tank subassembly within a metallic vacuum jacket, which forms the cryogenic pressure vessel.

Abstract: Aspects of the technology relate to assisting a passenger in an autonomous vehicle without a driver. For instance, after a door of the vehicle is opened, a predetermined period of time may be waited by processors of computing devices of the vehicle. After waiting the predetermined period of time and when the vehicle's door remains open, a set of instructions for closing the vehicle's door may be played by the processors through a speaker of the vehicle. Once the door of the vehicle is closed, an announcement may be played by the processors through the speaker requesting that the passenger press a first button to initiate a ride to a destination. In response to the first button being pressed, the ride to the destination may be initiated by the processors by maneuvering the vehicle autonomously to the destination.

Abstract: An apparatus includes a case having an elliptical cross-section capable of receiving a plurality of capacitive elements. One or more of the capacitive elements provide at least one capacitor having a first capacitor terminal and a second capacitor terminal. The apparatus also includes a cover assembly that includes a deformable cover mountable to the case, and, a common cover terminal having a contact extending from the cover. The cover assembly also includes at least three capacitor cover terminals, each of the at least three capacitor cover terminals having at least one contact extending from the deformable cover. The deformable cover is configured to displace at least one of the at least three capacitor cover terminals upon an operative failure of at least one of the plurality of the capacitive elements. The cover assembly also includes at least four insulation structures. One of the four insulation structures is associated with one of the at least three capacitor cover terminals.

Abstract: A system for dehydrating raw produce without introducing excess heat to the produce, including a first chamber for holding warm, moist air, a second chamber connected in fluidic communication with the first chamber for cooling and drying warm, moist air received from the first chamber, and a filter operationally connected between the first and second chambers for removing suspended particulates from warm, moist air flowing therethrough with a drain operationally connected to the second chamber for removing water therefrom. A third chamber is connected in fluidic communication with the second chamber for receiving cool, dry air therefrom and for receiving raw produce for drying, and a wind current generator operationally connected to the second chamber to urge cool, dry air therefrom and into the third chamber.

Abstract: Methods for speaker role determination and scrubbing identifying information are performed by systems and devices. In speaker role determination, data from an audio or text file is divided into respective portions related to speaking parties. Characteristics classifying the portions of the data for speaking party roles are identified in the portions to generate data sets from the portions corresponding to the speaking party roles and to assign speaking party roles for the data sets. For scrubbing identifying information in data, audio data for speaking parties is processed using speech recognition to generate a text-based representation. Text associated with identifying information is determined based on a set of key words/phrases, and a portion of the text-based representation that includes a part of the text is identified. A segment of audio data that corresponds to the identified portion is replaced with different audio data, and the portion is replaced with different text.

Abstract: An optical device includes a waveguide device and a fiber stub. The fiber stub at least partially contains a first optical fiber and is directly attached to the waveguide device by an adhesive. The first optical fiber is to be coupled to a second optical fiber included in an optical connector when the optical connector is inserted into a receptacle of the optical device. The fiber stub is to couple the first optical fiber to at least one of the waveguide device or an optical waveguide included in the waveguide device.

Abstract: Provided herein is an electro-optic display having a layer of electrophoretic material, a first conductive layer, and a piezoelectric material positioned between the layer of electrophoretic material and the first conductive layer, the piezoelectric material overlaps with a portion of the layer of electrophoretic material, and a portion of the first conductive layer overlaps with the rest of the electrophoretic material.

Abstract: The aerosol-generating device includes a housing, and a power supply configured to supply electrical power to a heating element by way of a transformer assembly within the housing. The transformer assembly includes a magnetic flux guide, a primary circuit including a primary winding extending around a first portion of the magnetic flux guide and electrically connected to the power supply, and a secondary circuit including a secondary winding inductively coupled to the primary winding and extending around a second portion of the magnetic flux guide. The number of turns in the primary winding is greater than the number of turns in the secondary winding. The secondary circuit includes at least two electrical contacts configured to form an electrical connection with the heating element.

Abstract: A therapeutic orthopedic device is described. The orthopedic device serves to restrain and limit movement of a human arm and shoulder. The device comprises a torso pillow, a padded forearm support attached to the pillow and a shoulder strap that traverses the clavicle region of the opposite shoulder. The pillow is positioned to rest against the torso of a user and the strap is positioned over the opposite shoulder. The forearm support acts as a shelf upon which the user's forearm may rest in a natural position. Flexible straps extend from the forearm support, over the user's forearm, and engage with the pillow to secure the forearm.

Abstract: An instrumented cutting element, an earth-boring drilling tool, and related methods are disclosed. The instrumented cutting element may include a substrate base, a diamond table disposed on the substrate base, a sensor disposed within the diamond table, a lead wire coupled to the sensor and disposed within a side trench formed within the substrate base, and a filler material disposed within the side trench. The earth-boring drilling tool may include securing the instrumented cutting element to a blade of a bit body. A related method may include forming the instrumented cutting element and earth-boring drilling tool.

Abstract: A cooling system differential oil contained in the housing of a differential for a vehicle. The differential includes a housing containing a first portion of differential oil. A tank contains a second portion of differential oil. An inlet passage is provided through which differential oil flows from the housing to the tank. An outlet passage is provided through which differential oil flows from the tank to the housing. A valve is disposed in the outlet passage that has a closed position preventing differential oil from flowing through the outlet passage. The valve has an open position in which differential oil is permitted to flow from the tank to the housing in response to the temperature of the differential oil in the housing exceeding a predetermined temperature.

Abstract: An optical device includes a waveguide, a projector, a reflective display, and an in-coupler. The waveguide has a first side and an opposing second side. The projector is configured to project illumination light toward the first side of the waveguide. The reflective display is configured to receive the illumination light and to output image light toward the second side of the waveguide. The in-coupler is configured to receive the image light output by the reflective display and redirect a portion of the image light so that the portion of the image light undergoes total internal reflection inside the waveguide.

Abstract: In various embodiments, computerized methods and systems for rendering near-field objects as perceivable far-field objects within a virtual environment are provided. A determination is made that a near-field object to be rendered is configured for far-field perception within the virtual environment. The virtual environment is operable to include one or more virtualized near-field objects that are stereoscopically rendered utilizing one or more stereoscopic projection transforms generated based at least in part on a position and orientation of a head-mounted display. A harmonize transform is generated for the configured near-field object based at least in part on one of the stereoscopic projection transforms. Based on the determination that the near-field object is configured for far-field perception, the generated harmonize transform is employed to stereoscopically render the configured near-field object as a perceivable far-field object within the virtual environment.

Abstract: In the present disclosure, artificial intelligence (AI) processing is trained and leveraged to learn user-specific insights that are contextually relevant to a state of a user communication. Contextual information about a state of a user communication may be collected and analyzed. That contextual information may be cross-referenced with an extensive knowledge graph that is constructed from user context data. Exemplary AI processing may further be trained to apply a relevance analysis to assist with processing described herein including generation and curation of data insights that are most relevant to a state of a user communication. In some examples, the data insight generation process may be augmented by pre-generating data insights that may be relevant to a user communication prior to occurrence of the user communication. Further technical examples pertain to the rendering and presentation of representations of data insights through a graphical user interface (GUI).

Abstract: A server device may receive a first request to utilize surplus parking spaces available at one or more locations from a first device associated with an organization having an inventory of vehicles to be stored in the surplus parking spaces. The server device may process, between the organization and one or more parking providers associated with the one or more locations, a transaction allocating the surplus parking spaces to the organization. The server device may receive, from a second device, a second request to use a vehicle in the inventory from a starting location. The server device may determine, from among the surplus parking spaces allocated to the organization, a storage location for the vehicle that differs from the starting location and transmit, to the second device, a notification indicating that the vehicle is ready for use based on the vehicle having been moved to the starting location.

Abstract: A computer implemented method for securely extracting secure data from a human capital management (HCM) system, includes receiving setup data from a production tenant of the HCM system, wherein the setup data includes one or more field types describing what type of secure data is stored on the production tenant, creating a scrambling module based on the setup data that is configured to scramble the secure data based on scrambling settings, wherein the scrambling module is configured to upload and install onto the HCM system and to communicate with the production tenant to receive the secure data to scramble the secure data, and uploading the scrambling module to the HCM system.

Abstract: According to one embodiment, in response to a request to park an ADV into a parking lot, a remote server is accessed over a network (e.g., a VX2 link) to obtain a list of parking spaces that appear to be available in the parking lot. Based on the list of available parking spaces and the map associated with the parking lot, a route is generated to navigate through at least the available parking spaces. The ADV is driven according to the route to locate at least one of the available parking spaces and to park the ADV into the located available parking space. The centralized server is configured to periodically receive signals from a number of parking lots indicating which of the parking spaces of the parking lots are apparently available.
