  • Patent number: 11182473
Abstract: According to one embodiment of the disclosure, a method for reassigning execution of certain instructions directed to a speculative execution task or a reserved instruction, attempted by a guess process, to be handled by a host process is described herein. The method involves detecting whether a software component, operating within a virtual machine deployed within a guest environment of the network device, is attempting to execute an instruction associated with a speculative execution task. If so, the speculative execution task is prevented from being performed by the software component without the virtual machine detecting that speculative execution by the software component has been reassigned.

  • Patent number: 11184669
Abstract: Systems and methods for distributing network traffic during streaming are hereby provided. A server can provide a first content pod to a client device for insertion in a content break separating a first portion and a second portion of the streaming content. The server can receive, from the client device during playback of the first content pod, a request for content to insert into the content break for playback subsequent to playback of the first content pod. The request for content can be generated at a first elapsed time from initiation of playback of the first content pod via a request generation policy. The server can select a second content pod. The server can provide the second content pod to the client device during the playback of the first content pod for playback subsequent to completion of the playback of the first content pod.

  • Patent number: 11181230
Abstract: An attachment mechanism for mounting an electronic device to a surface including a mounting plate configured to attach to the surface, the mounting plate having at least one projection, and a base configured to releasably couple to the mounting plate. The base may include a first biasing member, and a first arm pivotably coupled to the base and biased toward a first direction by the first biasing member, the first arm configured to interlock with the at least one projection when the base is coupled to the mounting plate. The base may further include a release mechanism coupled to the first arm such that actuation of the release mechanism when the base is coupled to the mounting plate in a secured engagement causes movement of the first arm in a second direction to disengage the first arm from the at least one projection to enable detachment of the base from the mounting plate.

  • Patent number: 11182215
Abstract: A method for graphics processing, wherein a graphics processing unit (GPU) resource is allocated among applications, such that each application is allocated a set of time slices. Commands of draw calls are loaded to rendering command buffers in order to render an image frame for a first application. The commands are processed by the GPU resource within a first time slice allocated to the first application. The method including determining at least one command has not been executed at an end of the first time slice. The method including halting execution of commands, wherein remaining one or more commands are not processed in the first time slice. A GPU configuration is preserved for the commands after processing a last executed command, the GPU configuration used when processing in a second time slice the remaining commands.

  • Patent number: 11182432
Abstract: The disclosed embodiments provide a system for performing a natural language search. During operation, the system applies a first machine learning model to a natural language query to predict one or more search intentions associated with the natural language query. Next, the system applies a second machine learning model to the natural language query to produce one or more search parameters associated with a first intention in the search intention(s), wherein the search parameter(s) include a field and a value of the field. The system then performs a first search of a first vertical associated with the first intention using the search parameter(s). Finally, the system generates a ranking containing a first set of search results from the first search of the first vertical and outputs at least a portion of the ranking in a response to the natural language query.

  • Patent number: 11178959
Abstract: A support pole system for supporting articles above the ground or earth includes a support pole formed from at least two elongated pole sections that are movably coupled together so that the pole sections can be moved relative to one another between collapsed and extended positions to shorten and lengthen the support pole. An article head piece is coupled to an upper end of the support pole for attaching articles to the support pole. A base assembly couples to the lower end of the support pole and has a stake configured for insertion into the ground or earth for supporting the support pole in an upright position. The stake has projecting members that engage the ground or earth when the stake is inserted therein to prevent rotation of the stake about the longitudinal axis of the stake. A cross member is positioned at an upper end of the stake to form a footrest to facilitate insertion of the stake into the ground or earth.

  • Patent number: 11179563
Abstract: An object of the present invention is to provide a system and method of determining muscle efficiency and inefficiency in a patient or subject and being able to quantitatively determine measurements that communicate between practitioners the condition, the health, and the efficiency state of any muscle. The efficiency of a muscle is defined by the ability of the brain to bridge a proper communication to the muscle by sending normal action potentials; the bridge is often compromised during injury, improper training, or from poor habits of bodily movement. The standardization of these efficiencies allows for the isolation of particular areas of the muscles that are inefficient and efficient. Further, with varied application of electrical pulses, a bridge that mimics the natural action potential is provided and can enhance muscle efficiency in a way that achieves higher levels of success in bodily healing and physical training than in any prior art.

  • Patent number: 11181392
Abstract: An automatic meter reading (AMR) system includes a plurality of metering endpoints, each endpoint being configured to wirelessly transmit meter data in compliance with a data transmission schedule. A handheld unit, transported by a vehicle in proximity to the endpoints, is adapted to receive the meter data. To reduce the risk of communication collision, each endpoint is configured with techniques for modifying its transmission schedule. As one technique, each endpoint transmits meter data at a fixed time interval between successive transmissions, each transmission being applied with a random time offset to yield a non-periodic transmission cycle. As another technique, each metering endpoint is configured to transmit meter data within a designated time slot within the fixed time interval. Further, each endpoint monitors the distribution of data within the various time slots and modifies the time slot to which it is assigned to optimally balance the distribution of meter data.
