  • Patent number: 11173970
Abstract: A tractor-trailer is disclosed, with associated apparatuses. A tractor may include a tractor air duct disposed underneath a cab. The tractor air duct may extend between a front opening at a front of the tractor and a rear opening at a rear of the tractor. A trailer may include a duct system that receives airflow from the rear opening of the tractor air duct and directs the airflow to a location behind a cargo compartment. An air distributor may be disposed behind the cargo compartment. An air distributor may include a fairing with openings, so that airflow from the duct system enters a space between the cargo compartment and the fairing, and exits the openings behind the trailer.

  • Patent number: 11177890
Abstract: A quantum communication system includes a first quantum transceiver, a second quantum transceiver, and a quantum communication mediator (QCM) system. The transceivers have different resonant frequencies or physical systems. The QCM system receives an initial quantum signal from the first quantum transceiver. The QCM system transfers a quantum state of the initial quantum signal to a first mechanical signal and then from the first mechanical signal to a first pair of optical signals by way of a first three-wave mixing process. The QCM transfers the quantum state to a second pair of optical signals from the first pair by way of a four-wave mixing process. The QCM transfers the quantum state from the second pair of optical signals to a second mechanical signal by way of a second three-wave mixing process. The QCM transfers the quantum state from the second mechanical signal to a final quantum signal by mechanical transduction.

  • Patent number: 11178515
Abstract: A geolocationing system and method for providing awareness in a multi-space environment, such as a hospitality environment or educational environment, are presented. In one embodiment of the geolocationing system, a vertical and horizontal array of gateway devices is provided. Each gateway device includes a gateway device identification providing an accurately-known fixed location within the multi-space environment. Each gateway device includes a wireless transceiver that receives a beacon signal from a proximate wireless-enabled personal locator device. The gateway devices, in turn, send gateway signals to a server, which determines estimated location of the wireless-enabled personal locator device with time of arrival modeling.

  • Patent number: 11176669
Abstract: This invention is a system for remote medical imaging which uses conventional mobile devices (such as two smart phones) and/or augmented reality to calibrate attributes such as the size, color, and shape of a wound, injury, skin lesion, and/or tissue abnormality on a person's body. One of the mobile devices is placed near the wound, injury, skin lesion, and/or tissue abnormality and acts as a digital fiducial marker or color key to help calibrate the size, color, and/or shape of the wound, injury, skin lesion, and/or tissue abnormality.

  • Patent number: 11176699
Abstract: A method and apparatus for generating augmented training data for hand pose estimation include receiving source data that is associated with a first lighting condition. Target data that is associated with a second lighting condition is received. A lighting condition translation between the first lighting condition and the second lighting condition is determined. Lighting translated data is generated based on the lighting condition translation and the source data. Augmented training data for hand pose estimation is generated based on the target data and the lighting translated data.

  • Patent number: 11178385
Abstract: Systems, methods, and computing devices for capturing synthetic stereoscopic content are provided. An example computing device includes at least one processor and memory. The memory stores instructions that cause the computing device to receive a three-dimensional scene. The instructions may additionally cause the computing device to reposition vertices of the three-dimensional scene to compensate for variations in camera location in a directional stereoscopic projection and generate a stereoscopic image based on the repositioned vertices. An example method includes projecting a three-dimensional scene onto a left eye image cube and a right eye image cube and repositioning vertices of the three-dimensional scene to adjust for rendering from a single camera location. The method also includes mapping pixels of a stereoscopic image to points on the left eye image cube and the right eye image cube and generating the stereoscopic image using the values of the mapped pixels.

  • Patent number: 11177947
Abstract: This disclosure provides enhanced management of encryption key updates based on user group activity. A system utilizes a vault key and a combination of other security keys to control access to secret data shared by members of a group who are participating in a collaborative session, such as a channel or chat session. The vault key allows a system to control access to secret data with users that join a particular group while immediately restricting access from users that leave the group. Updates to the keys are initiated based on the activity of the members of a group, which can include, but is not limited to, a threshold change in a number of group members, a total number of group members, an amount of data shared between the group members, and/or an age of one or more keys used to secure data shared by the group.

  • Patent number: 11175507
Abstract: A near eye display (NED) includes an electronic display configured to output image light. Further, the NED includes an eye tracking module and multiple optical elements that are combined to form an optical system to allow for changes in position of one or both eyes of a user of the NED. Various types of such optical elements, which may have optical states that are switchable, may be used to steer a light beam toward the user's eye. A direction of the steering may be based on eye tracking information measured by the eye tracking module.

  • Patent number: 11176744
Abstract: Improved techniques for re-localizing Internet-of-Things (IOT) devices are disclosed herein. Sensor data digitally representing one or more condition(s) monitored by an IOT device is received. In response, a sensor readings map is accessed, where this map is associated with the IOT device. The map also digitally represents the IOT device's environment and includes data representative of a location of the IOT device within the environment. The map also includes data representative of the conditions monitored by the IOT device. Additionally, the map is updated by attaching the sensor data to the map. In some cases, a coverage map can also be computed. Both the sensors readings map and the coverage map can be automatically updated in response to the TOT device being re-localized.
