Abstract: A system for braking a vehicle includes an operator interface that transmits a brake command signal when actuated by a vehicle operator. When the interface is not actuated and does not transmit the signal, a controller receives signals indicative of whether the vehicle is in an active or inactive state from two different sources and determines that the vehicle is in the inactive state if both of the signals indicate the vehicle is in the inactive state. The controller receives another signal indicative of a speed of the vehicle and determines whether the speed of the vehicle meets a predetermined condition relative to a predetermined speed of the vehicle. The controller generates a control signal to apply a wheel parking brake on the vehicle after determining that the vehicle is the inactive state and determining that the speed of the vehicle meets the predetermined condition relative to the predetermined speed.

Abstract: Apparatus and methods are described for use with a portion of plant material that includes at least one active ingredient. A vaporizing unit includes a heating element configured to heat the plant material, and a sensor configured to detect an indication of airflow rate through the vaporizing unit. Control circuitry is configured to receive an indication of the airflow rate through the vaporizing unit, and, in response thereto, to determine a smoking profile that is desired by the user. The control circuitry drives the heating element to vaporize the active ingredient of the plant material by heating the plant material according to the determined smoking profile. The control circuitry dynamically updates the smoking profile in response to changes in airflow rate over the course of a smoking session. Other applications are also described.

Abstract: Systems and methods for pre-training a dialogue model with semantic information include: generating a dialogue-level abstract meaning representation (AMR) graph for an input dialogue associated with a speaker, learning core semantic units of the input dialogue based on nodes of the dialogue-level AMR graph, learning semantic relations between words of a sentence of the input dialogue based on edges of the dialogue-level AMR graph, learning an overall agreement of the input dialogue and the dialogue-level AMR graph, and training the dialogue model based on the learned core semantic units, semantic relations between words, and overall agreement.

Abstract: Some embodiments of the invention provide a method for processing requests for performing operations on resources in a software defined datacenter (SDDC). The resources are software-defined (SD) resources in some embodiments. The method initially receives a request to perform an operation with respect to a first resource in the SDDC. The method identifies a policy that matches (i.e., is applicable to) the received request for the first resource by comparing a set of attributes of the request with sets of attributes of a set of policies that place constraints on operations specified for resources. In some embodiments, several sets of attributes for several policies can be expressed for resources at different hierarchal resource levels of the SDDC. The method rejects the received request when the identified policy specifies that the requested operation violates a constraint on operations specified for the first resource.

Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for customizing an action. In some implementations, voice input is received from a user and a context is determined from the voice input. Potential contextual data is identified based on the context and the voice input. A level of confidence is determined for an association of the potential contextual data and the context. An action is performed based on the voice input, the potential contextual data, and the level of confidence. The potential contextual data is used to customize the action.

Abstract: In an example, a receiver protection circuit includes a directional coupler configured to be coupled to a receive signal path of a communications device between an isolation device and an amplifier of the receive signal path. The receiver protection circuit further includes a power detector coupled to the directional coupler and configured to measure a power level of a transmit leakage signal in the receive signal path. The receiver protection circuit further includes a comparator configured to compare the measured power level of the transmit leakage signal in the receive signal path to a threshold value and output an alarm signal indicating that the measured power level of the transmit leakage signal exceeds the threshold value.

Abstract: The presently claimed invention provides a layered catalytic article comprising a first layer comprising a nickel component and a ceria component, wherein the amount of the nickel component is 1.0 to 50 wt. %, calculated as nickel oxide, based on the total weight of the first layer, and wherein the first layer is essentially free of copper; a second layer comprising a platinum group metal component, an oxygen storage component, and an alumina component, wherein the platinum group metal component comprises platinum, rhodium, palladium, or any combination thereof, and wherein the amount of the platinum group metal component is 0.0 to 5 wt. %, based on the total weight of the second layer; and a substrate. The presently claimed invention also provides a process for preparing the layered catalytic article. It further provides an exhaust system for internal combustion engines comprising a layered catalytic article.

The hull assembly may have a mat compartment with the mat storage system configured to move the mat between a stored position, in which at least a portion of the mat is positioned in the mat compartment, and a deployed position. The mat compartment may be positioned beneath at least a portion of a floor of the hull assembly. The hull assembly may have a cover positioned adjacent the mat compartment and moveable between a closed position, in which it covers at least a portion of the mat compartment, and an open position. The mat storage system may have a motor that is configured to move the mat to a stored position.

Abstract: Networked device management is based on an ontology graph which includes device nodes, physical facility nodes, and edges. The ontology graph may go beyond network topology by also documenting: relationships between devices and facilities, facility attributes such as facility-specific security scores, and device characteristics such as whether a device is recognized, whether it is authorized, and its mission criticality. Medical devices, physical condition sensors, and other internet of things devices, including those embedded in vehicles, those located on a vehicle, those used for industrial control, or those which are intermittently air-gapped, are managed. Devices may be discovered by extraction of identifications and characteristics from telemetry data in a staged architecture. Security postures may be assessed, and security recommendations based on device context may be provided.

Abstract: An example computing device obtains financial data corresponding to a user and based on the financial data, determines an initial risk score for the user that represents an estimate of financial risk of the user. The computing device receives, from a computing system associated with a gaming platform, wagering activity data corresponding to wagers placed by the user. Based on the wagering activity data, the computing device determines an updated risk score for the user that indicates an increased estimate of financial risk. Based on determining the updated risk score, the computing device transmits (i) a first message that causes a user device to display (a) a notification that wagering activity has been suspended and (b) a request for user-input data and (ii) a second message that causes the computing system associated with the gaming platform to suspend user wagering activity via the gaming platform.

Abstract: Systems and methods for pre-cooling a natural gas stream to a liquefaction plant. A system may include a compressor configured to receive a first natural gas stream at a first pressure and produce a second natural gas stream at a second pressure; an exchanger to cool the second natural gas stream; and an expander to receive the cooled natural gas stream and expand the cooled natural gas stream to produce a chilled natural gas stream. The refrigeration content of the refrigerant is used to liquefy and sub-cool the natural gas stream to produce liquefied natural gas in a cold box or cryogenic exchanger. The refrigerant may be an external gas or an internal refrigerant working fluid expanded and compressed in a twin compander arrangement and compressed by a refrigerant compressor, or an external single mixed refrigerant working fluid compressed by a refrigerant compressor and expanded thru a JT valve.

Abstract: Systems and methods for monitoring isolation resistance of individual batteries in a battery bank enable measurement of isolation resistance to be performed for different batteries at different times, thereby preventing the measurements from interfering with each other. In some embodiments, each battery in a battery bank has a battery monitoring system controller, and each battery monitoring system controller operates independently of the other battery monitoring system controllers in the battery bank. Each battery monitoring system controller can perform measurements of isolation resistance at regular intervals. Each battery monitoring system controller determines a start time for its measurements in a manner such that no two controllers perform isolation resistance measurements at the same time.

Abstract: An illustrative dye sublimation apparatus (also referred to as a dye sublimation machine) may have at least four stations, each station implementing a discrete step of a sublimation cycle. Multiple beds are rotatably mounted such that the beds pass through the stations to perform the corresponding steps. Therefore, the sublimation apparatus may perform multiple sublimation cycles simultaneously with the beds containing printed sheets and substrates at different steps of the multiple sublimation cycles. As the beds are rotatably mounted, the sublimation apparatus may allow for a fixed loading and unloading station proximate to a fixed, dedicated personnel station.

Abstract: Systems and methods for fast merging of panelist activity are disclosed. The system can maintain a plurality of panelist identifiers each stored with a respective plurality of offline content events, and identify, from the plurality of panelist identifiers, a subset of panelist identifiers that are stored with a respective offline content event that matches a target offline content event. The system can map each of the subset to a respective plurality of unique identifiers corresponding to virtual devices having virtual device attributes. The system can reduce, for each of the subset, the respective plurality of unique identifiers to a sketch that represents the respective plurality of unique identifiers. The system can combine the sketch of each of the subset of panelist identifiers into an aggregated sketch, and transmit the aggregated sketch to a computing device for analysis with an aggregated sketch representing online content events.

Abstract: A method and system for secure routing of data packets includes a data stream on a first communication network formed from a plurality of data packets. A source security certificate engine is implemented on a first computerized device. The source security certificate engine: assigns a certificate signature to a data packet of the data stream on a per-packet level; assigns a network route number to the data packet of the data stream to thereby encrypt the data packet; generates at least one encryption key; and selects a carrier network path from available carrier channels, wherein the encrypted data packet is communicated over the selected carrier network path. A destination security certificate engine implemented on a second computerized device, decrypts the encrypted data packet using the at least one encryption key. The data packet may be carried in a transpositional modulation (TM) signal communicated on a TM channel.

Abstract: Embodiments enable seamless Wi-Fi roaming by providing a user with a single username that is associated with a set of resources in the seamless network that includes different Wi-Fi networks (e.g., Wi-Fi networks with different domain names). As a user travels from a first access point in a first Wi-Fi network to a second access point in a second Wi-Fi network within the seamless network, network elements in the seamless network may recognize the user's single username as an already established session (e.g., with the first access point) and direct traffic accordingly to the second access point. Embodiments also satisfy business requirements by updating accounting data accordingly by indicating that the user accessed the seamless network from the first Wi-Fi network. Embodiments allow a user roaming on the seamless network to experience the policies and network requirements associated with the Wi-Fi domain of the second access point.
