  • Patent number: 11159856
Abstract: Systems and methods for non-linear content presentation and experience are provided. A plurality of real-time streams of content may be received over a communication network. At least one of the streams may be provided in real-time to a user device to be played in real-time. At least one other stream may be evaluated in real-time to detect when an event occurs within the evaluated stream. The user device may be sent a notification when the event is detected in the evaluated stream. Such notification may be overlaid on a portion of the provided stream played at the user device. A request may be received from the user device concerning jumping to the detected event in the evaluated stream. The evaluated stream may then be provided to the user device at a point prior to the detected event.

  • Patent number: 11156833
Abstract: Apparatus and method for designing an optical extender for a vehicle heads up display (HUD). An example vehicle includes a windshield and a HUD system. The HUD system includes an image source to provide a projection image and a main mirror to project the projection image onto the windshield. The image source and the main mirror define a light path. The HUD system also includes an optical extender between the main mirror and the windshield. The optical extender has a multi-polynomial top surface that modifies light in the light path to, when the light in the light path intersects the windshield, create an optical path wherein a virtual image of the projection image is visible from an eyebox defined within a cabin of the vehicle.

  • Patent number: 11156526
Abstract: A triaxial connection leak criterion for assessing and optimizing threaded connections in well tubulars, together with an associated leak safety factor for use in tubular design, is described. The triaxial leak criterion introduces the dependence of leak on hydrostatic pressure and on two constants associated with the connection: a Thread Modulus and a Makeup Leak Resistance. These two constants represent inherent properties of a particular threaded connection, independent of external conditions. Simple lab tests are described for determining the two connection constants, without expensive qualification testing or finite-element analysis. Graphical tools based on the triaxial leak criterion include a leak line and a leak circle for visually assessing the leak risk associated with any of a variety of load cases.

  • Patent number: 11156830
Abstract: Artificial reality (AR) systems track pose and skeletal positioning for multiple co-located participants, each having a head mounted display (HMD). Participants can join a shared artificial reality event or experience with others in the same location. Each participant's HMD can independently render AR content for the participant based on the participant's pose and pose information obtained from other participants' HMDs. A participating HMD may broadcast tracking estimates for skeletal points of interest (e.g., joints, finger tips, knees, ankle points, etc.) that are within the field-of-view of the HMD's cameras and/or sensors. A participating HMD may receive skeletal position information determined by other HMDs, and aggregate the received tracking information along with internal tracking information to construct an accurate, full estimate of its own pose and skeletal positioning information for its corresponding participant.

  • Patent number: 11157367
Abstract: Techniques to back up data are disclosed. In various embodiments, an indication to perform a differential backup of a database is received. It is verified that a full backup to be referenced by the differential backup is available on backup media. It is determined that no intervening backup was performed subsequent to the full backup that would create a risk of data loss in the event a recovery operation based on the differential backup were performed, including by ignoring any intervening backup that may have been performed but is of a type that would not give rise to such a risk of data loss. The differential backup is performed, without promoting to full backup, based on least in part on said determination.

  • Patent number: 11157139
Abstract: A computing device receives a request to render a listing of item entries on a user interface, receives a notification of selection of a user interface element on the user computing device requesting presentation of objects corresponding to each of the item entries, and determines first objects that correspond to the first item entry in the listing of item entries. The computing device analyzes each of the first objects that correspond to the first item entry by determining that the user has a preferred first object, determining that the first objects comprise the preferred first object, determining that the user has a preferred provider, and determining availability of the preferred first object at the preferred provider. The computing device renders the preferred first object in a first highlighted position on the user interface with each remaining first object that corresponds to the first item entry in a non-highlighted first position.
