  • Patent number: 11157998
Abstract: A financial trading system that includes a trading server, multiple financial exchanges, and multiple servers with each server associated with and co-located at an exchange and comprising a high accuracy clock. The trading server divides a large transaction order into multiple smaller transaction orders and combines each smaller transaction order with a transaction execution time. The trading server sends a financial trade instruction based on each combined smaller transaction order and transaction execution time to each co-located server. When the high accuracy clock on each server reaches the transaction execution time, all the servers submit their smaller transaction orders to the respective financial exchanges substantially simultaneously.

  • Patent number: 11159813
Abstract: A method of decoding JVET video includes receiving a bitstream indicating how a coding tree unit was partitioned into coding units, and parsing said bitstream to generate at least one predictor based on an intra prediction mode signaled in the bitstream. The predictor may be generated by interpolating neighboring pixels for each pixel within a coding block. The computation may be more accurate by deriving a value for a bottom right neighboring pixel.

  • Patent number: 11160155
Abstract: An intelligent lighting system may be installed using pre-existing electrical wiring, such as in a construction or retrofit environment. An intelligent lighting controller and an intelligent lighting fixture may be connected via electrical wiring that is configured for transmitting AC power signals. A commissioning signal may be transmitted to the intelligent lighting fixtures via the electrical wiring. In some cases, the intelligent lighting controller modifies portions of the AC power signal to indicate the commissioning signal. The intelligent lighting fixtures may receive the commissioning signal via the electrical wiring. In some cases, each intelligent lighting fixture that is connected to the electrical wiring, such as each intelligent lighting fixture on a lighting circuit in a room, receives the commissioning signal.

  • Patent number: 11156443
Abstract: A nonlethal projectile includes a payload for immobilizing and/or identifying a target. The projectile is capable of separating or otherwise opening after launch by a launcher to release the payload prior to impact with a target. The launcher is capable of initiating separation of the projectile. Opening may also be accomplished by a control circuit with a radio-frequency identification (RFID), where an RFID tag in the projectile causes the projectile to open at a specified distance from the launcher. The launcher may include a trigger and/or a safety switch to prevent the projectile from becoming armed until a certain parameter is met. A magazine or breech assembly of the launcher may energize the projectile prior to launch of the projectile.

  • Patent number: 11156716
Abstract: A laser radar includes: a laser, an optical transmission system, a 1-dimensional array of photo-detectors, an optical reception system, and an electronic control system. The laser emits a wavelength of light, and the optical transmission system shapes the light into a beam, and scans the beam along a fan of transmission light paths toward a target. The photo-detectors are capable of time-of-arrival measurements and are sensitive to the wavelength of light. The optical reception system collects the laser light reflected from the target along a fan of reception light paths. The electronic control system synchronizes the scan of the beam with a respective time-of-arrival measurement from each of the photo-detectors, and analyzes the time-of-arrival measurements. The system is configured for all of the transmission light paths and all of the reception light paths to lie in one plane, with all of the reception light paths intersecting with at least one of the transmission light paths.

  • Patent number: 11157212
Abstract: Method and apparatus for managing data transfers. In some embodiments, first and second storage devices respectively include first and second controllers, first and second local memories, and first and second non-volatile memories (NVMs). A virtual controller memory buffer (CMB) is formed from a dedicated portion of each of the first and second local memories for control by a host device. The first controller receives a virtual command set from the host device, and extracts a first local command to transfer data between the host device and the first NVM. In some cases, the second controller also receives the virtual command set and concurrently extracts a different, second local command to transfer data between the host device and the second NVM. Alternatively, the first controller may extract and forward the second local command to the second controller. The first and second NVMs may form an NVMe (Non-Volatile Memory Express) namespace.
