Abstract: A ski binding release system includes a spring that is releasably maintained in a first state using a pyrotechnic fastener. In the first state, a ski boot is secured in the ski binding. The pyrotechnic fastener is electrically coupled to an activation circuit. The activation circuit includes a battery, a plurality of sensors, a switch, and a controller. When the controller determines that the skier has fallen, the controller generates an output signal that transitions the switch from a disconnected state to a connected state. In the disconnected state, the pyrotechnic fastener is electrically disconnected from the battery. In the connected state, the pyrotechnic fastener is electrically connected to the battery. Electrical energy from the battery causes the pyrotechnical fastener to explode to transition the spring from the first state to a second state to release the ski boot from the ski binding.

Abstract: An intelligent, automated system for loading agricultural product application equipment is provided in which a control system can determine a necessary amount of product for completing a field operation and can automatically couple with a tendering system to receive such product at an optimal time and location. The control system can determine a current amount of product, a projected amount of product necessary to complete a field operation and a refill amount of product from the current amount and the projected amount, then transmit the refill amount to the tender. The control system can further determine whether a position of the equipment relative to the tender is within a threshold, and whether an intake coupler of the equipment is connected to a supply coupler of the tender, and can control valve(s) to open and close channel(s) for loading fluid into the storage tank.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to a method, device and computer program product for data stream processing. The method comprises activating, in response to receiving a starting first predefined tag in a first input data stream from a first data source, a duplicate process of a process by duplicating a state of the process to the duplicate process. The method further comprises processing, by the duplicate process, only a data unit before an ending second predefined tag in a second input data stream from a second data source without interruption of processing of the first and second input data streams by the process. The second data source differs from the first data source. The method further comprises creating a snapshot of the duplicate process for recovery of the process due to failure in response to receiving the ending second predefined tag in the second input data stream.
Abstract: Disclosed herein are various dynamometer embodiments in which the devices have a cooling tank comprising cooling fluid, a rotatable drum body disposed over a stator body, and first and second friction disks axially extendable from the stator body such that the friction disks are frictionally engageable with the bases of the drum body. The bases of the drum body can be rotatable friction plates that are coupled via a connection tube to form the drum body.
Abstract: A method of decoding JVET video includes receiving a bitstream indicating how a coding tree unit was partitioned into coding units, and parsing said bitstream to generate at least one predictor based on an intra prediction mode signaled in the bitstream. The predictor may be generated by interpolating neighboring pixels for each pixel within a coding block. The computation may be more accurate by deriving a value for a bottom right neighboring pixel.

Abstract: The application describes a computer-implemented apparatus that includes a non-transitory memory having instructions stored thereon for assigning address space in a network. The apparatus also includes a processor, operably coupled to the non-transitory memory, configured to execute at least the instruction of receiving a solicitation from a router in the network. The processor is also configured to execute the instruction of replying to the solicitation with address space. The processor is also configured to execute the instruction of receiving a second solicitation from the router to register a new address. The processor is further configured to execute the instruction of determining if the new address is from a dedicated address space or a shared address space. The processor is even further configured to execute the instruction of sending a neighbor advertisement with the address registration to the router.

Abstract: During operation, a radio node may provide, at a transmit time during a first time interval, a first instance of a keep-alive message to a computer. Then, the radio node may receive, at a receive time prior to a first instance of a transmit expire time, an instance of a keep-alive response from the computer, where the instance of the keep-alive response authorizes the radio node to transmit in a granted portion of the spectrum until a second instance of the transmit expire time has elapsed. Moreover, the radio node may determine, based at least in part on the receive time and the first instance of the transmit expire time, an updated transmit time. Next, the radio node may provide, at the updated transmit time, which is prior to the second instance of the transmit expire time, a second instance of the keep-alive message addressed to the computer.
Abstract: Systems and methods for enhanced filtration and separation of fluid from microorganisms, toxins and other particles in a more efficient manner is provided. The system may include a selectively removeable fitting or replaceable filter media and is suitable for use with liquid dispensing devices such as hydrotherapy jets, shower heads, liquid nozzles, and bathtub faucets.
Abstract: A system includes a fuel control module and a valve control module. The fuel control module controls a fuel injector to stop fuel delivery to each cylinder of an engine in a vehicle when the vehicle is decelerating. The valve control module controls a valve actuator to actuate intake and exhaust valves of each cylinder of the engine between open and closed positions when fuel delivery to each cylinder of the engine is stopped. The valve control module controls the valve actuator to adjust an amount of airflow through each cylinder of the engine to a minimum amount when fuel delivery to each cylinder of the engine is initially stopped. The valve control module controls the valve actuator to adjust the amount of airflow through each cylinder of the engine to an amount greater than the minimum amount before fuel delivery to each cylinder of the engine is restarted.

Abstract: The present disclosure is directed to systems, methods and tools that measure ionic concentrations and downhole enthalpy of a flowing geothermal fluid in real-time at high-temperature and pressure. The systems, methods and tools include measuring the concentration of selected naturally occurring ions found in the liquid phase of the geothermal fluid throughout the wellbore using novel electrochemical sensor technologies. The change in liquid-phase ion concentration will be used to calculate the proportion of liquid to steam and allow for accurate enthalpy measurements. The techniques and technologies described here can be applied to any application of electrochemical sensing in extreme environments.

The system and method incorporates a plurality of variables and available medical treatments and/or therapies that are available to a patient. All of the variables and treatments are analyzed to predict medical outcomes without treatment, and with each of the plurality of available treatments. The system includes a graphical user interface for inputting the variables and the treatment options. This graphical user interface can comprise a plurality of toggle switches for manipulating each variable as desired. The graphical user interface can display a risk of complication of a disease, both with and without treatment, to a patient, thereby improving communication to the patient and providing healthcare providers and professionals with a procedure and system by which medical outcomes may be predicted and readily communicated to patient.
