Abstract: The thriving of deep models and generative models provides approaches to model high dimensional distributions. Generative adversarial networks (GANs) can approximate data distributions and generate data samples from the learned data manifolds as well. Presented herein are embodiments to estimate the implicit likelihoods of GAN models. In one or more embodiments, a stable inverse function of the generator is learned with the help of a variance network of the generator. The local variance of the sample distribution may be approximated by the normalized distance in the latent space. Simulation studies and likelihood testing on data sets validate embodiments, which outperformed several baseline methods in these tasks. An embodiment was also applied to anomaly detection. Experiments show that the embodiments herein can achieve state-of-the-art anomaly detection performance.

Abstract: Systems, methods and computer-readable media are provided for controlling environmental conditions to control latent and sensible loads in a plant grow chamber. The density of plant receptacles in the grow chamber is such that, when plants are held in the plurality of plant receptacles, evapotranspiration contributes to the latent load so that the latent load exceeds a sensible load, resulting in evapotranspirative cooling. This shift in the energy balance allows for greater energy savings, as compared with conventional indoor farms that focus on removing heat from the growth environment. Environmental conditions may be controlled to achieved desired conditions, such as the optimum ratio of harvest weight yield to energy consumption under given constraints.

Abstract: Systems and methods disclosed herein relate to assigning dynamic eye-gaze dwell-times. Dynamic dwell-times may be tailored to the individual user. For example, a dynamic dwell-time system may be configured to receive data from the user, such as the duration of time the user takes to execute certain actions within applications (e.g., read a word suggestion before actually selecting it). The dynamic dwell-time system may also prevent users from making unintended selections by providing different dwell times for different buttons. Specifically, on a user interface, longer dwell times may be established for the critical keys (e.g., “close” program key, “send” key, word suggestions, and the like) and shorter dwell times may be established for the less critical keys (e.g., individual character keys on a virtual keyboard, spacebar, backspace, and the like).

The laser emits a wavelength of light, and the optical transmission system shapes the light into a beam, and scans the beam along a fan of transmission light paths toward a target. The photo-detectors are capable of time-of-arrival measurements and are sensitive to the wavelength of light. The optical reception system collects the laser light reflected from the target along a fan of reception light paths. The electronic control system synchronizes the scan of the beam with a respective time-of-arrival measurement from each of the photo-detectors, and analyzes the time-of-arrival measurements. The system is configured for all of the transmission light paths and all of the reception light paths to lie in one plane, with all of the reception light paths intersecting with at least one of the transmission light paths.
