Patent number: 11144831Abstract: A method for receiving training data for training a neural network (NN) to perform a machine learning (ML) task and for determining, using the training data, an optimized NN architecture for performing the ML task is described. Determining the optimized NN architecture includes: maintaining population data comprising, for each candidate architecture in a population of candidate architectures, (i) data defining the candidate architecture, and (ii) data specifying how recently a neural network having the candidate architecture has been trained while determining the optimized neural network architecture; and repeatedly performing multiple operations using each of a plurality of worker computing units to generate a new candidate architecture based on a selected candidate architecture having the best measure of fitness, adding the new candidate architecture to the population, and removing from the population the candidate architecture that was trained least recently.Type: GrantFiled: June 19, 2020Date of Patent: October 12, 2021Assignee: Google LLCInventors: Yanping Huang, Alok Aggarwal, Quoc V. Patent number: 11146169Abstract: This disclosure describes systems, methods, and apparatus for operating a power factor correction circuit. The power factor correction circuit can downconvert AC mains power to a lower power suitable for driving one or more LEDs. The power factor correction circuit can provide a regulated current, in a single-stage embodiment, and a regulated voltage, in a dual-stage embodiment. The power factor correction circuit can include an isolation transformer along with a switch for controlling downconversion. The power factor correction circuit can alternatively include a switch without isolation. Either way, the switch can have a duty cycle proportional to a desired downconversion from the AC mains signal, and can skip half cycles of the AC mains signal in order to reduce the downconverted output of the power factor correction circuit.Type: GrantFiled: October 15, 2018Date of Patent: October 12, 2021Assignee: LEDVANCE LLCInventor: Anthony N. Patent number: 11144533Abstract: A method is used in managing deduplication of data in storage systems. A candidate data object is identified for deduplicating a data object by evaluating digests stored in a current digest segment to determine whether another digest matching a digest associated with the data block is stored in the current digest segment. The current digest segment includes a set of digests associated with a set of data blocks previously received for deduplication. Based on the evaluation, a deduplicating technique is applied to the data object. The current digest segment is stored in an index table. A previous digest segment associated with a digest stored in the index table matches the digest associated with the data block is replaced by the current digest segment. A plurality of digest segments are organized into a segment group and a reference counter is associated with the segment group, wherein if the reference counter reaches zero, storage space consumed by the digest group is reclaimed.Type: GrantFiled: September 30, 2016Date of Patent: October 12, 2021Assignee: EMC IP Holding Company LLCInventors: Nickolay Alexandrovich Dalamatov, Richard P. Patent number: 11143533Abstract: Systems and methods for determining a weight of a quantity of fluid, or a flow rate of the fluid by weight. An acoustic sensor positioned on an exterior wall of a vessel containing the fluid determines a fill level of the fluid. A computerized device calculates a weight of the quantity of fluid using a size of the vessel, the determined fill level, a temperature of the fluid, and the fluid identity and/or a fluid density. Flow rate of the fluid through a pipe is determined using two or more acoustic sensors positioned at different locations on a pipe, and a temperature sensor. A computer calculates a differential time of flight of the fluid based on readings of the acoustic sensor, a distance therebetween, the temperature sensor, the pipe volume, and the fluid identity and/or a fluid density. A flow by weight of the quantity of fluid is determined.Type: GrantFiled: January 13, 2021Date of Patent: October 12, 2021Assignee: PERCEPTIVE SENSOR TECHNOLOGIES LLCInventor: James M. Heim

Patent number: 11146437Abstract: A base station may generate and transmit a transport stream including a sequence of frames. A frame may include a plurality of partitions, where each partition includes a corresponding set of OFDM symbols. For each partition, the OFDM symbols in that partition may have a corresponding cyclic prefix size and a corresponding FFT size, allowing different partitions to be targeted for different collections of user devices, e.g., user devices having different expected values of maximum delay spread and/or different ranges of mobility. The base station may also dynamically re-configure the sample rate of each frame, allowing further resolution in control of subcarrier spacing. By allowing the cyclic prefixes of different OFDM symbols to have different lengths, it is feasible to construct a frame that confirms to a set payload duration and has arbitrary values of cyclic prefix size per partition and FFT size per partition. The partitions may be multiplexed in time and/or frequency.Type: GrantFiled: February 20, 2020Date of Patent: October 12, 2021Assignee: ONE MEDIA, LLCInventors: Michael J. Simon, Kevin A.
