Abstract: Exemplary embodiments described herein include systems, methods, and processing nodes for performing load balancing in a wireless network based on a load of a relay node communicatively coupled to a donor access node. Exemplary methods described herein include determining that a traffic load on a relay node meets a threshold, wherein the relay node is configured to relay traffic between an access node and a first one or more wireless devices attached to the relay node, and attempting to offload a second one or more wireless devices attached to the access node and located at a cell edge of the access node.
Abstract: A base station may generate and transmit a transport stream including a sequence of frames. A frame may include a plurality of partitions, where each partition includes a corresponding set of OFDM symbols. For each partition, the OFDM symbols in that partition may have a corresponding cyclic prefix size and a corresponding FFT size, allowing different partitions to be targeted for different collections of user devices, e.g., user devices having different expected values of maximum delay spread and/or different ranges of mobility. The base station may also dynamically re-configure the sample rate of each frame, allowing further resolution in control of subcarrier spacing. By allowing the cyclic prefixes of different OFDM symbols to have different lengths, it is feasible to construct a frame that confirms to a set payload duration and has arbitrary values of cyclic prefix size per partition and FFT size per partition. The partitions may be multiplexed in time and/or frequency.

Abstract: A privacy management system that is adapted for, in the course of processing a particular data subject access request, automatically determining a type of the data subject access request, such as: (1) a request to delete personal data of the requestor that is being stored by a particular organization; (2) a request to provide, to the requestor, personal data of the requestor that is being stored by the particular organization; (3) a request to update personal data of the requestor that is being stored by the particular organization; and (4) a request to opt out of having the particular organization use the requestor's personal information in one or more particular ways. After making this determination, the system may determine, based on the determined type of data subject access request, a particular workflow to follow in authenticating the data subject before fulfilling the data subject access request.

Abstract: Facilitating improved overall performance of remote data facility replication systems. A device can comprise a processor and a memory that stores executable instructions that, when executed by the processor, facilitate performance of operations. The operations can comprise adjusting, by a device comprising a processor, a value of a compression counter based on global system attributes associated with a remote data facility replication system and an application service performance expectation. The method also can comprise performing, by the device, one of: facilitating a data compression of a group of data blocks based on the value of the compression counter satisfying a threshold compression level or storing the group of data blocks without the data compression based on the value of the compression counter failing to satisfy the threshold compression level.
Abstract: A real-time Internet streaming system and method includes a scheduling server that receives queries from encoders and determines if any scheduled events associated with a particular media encoders is an active scheduled event by comparing the scheduled events with time and date information. When there is an active scheduled event the scheduling server sends a response to the media encoders to stream a media stream to an origin server. When the scheduling server determines that an active scheduled event is no longer active, the scheduling server sends a response to the media encoders to stop streaming. The origin server can send the media stream or a modified version of the media stream to a plurality of viewing devices or archive the media stream for later playback. The real-time Internet streaming system can include a scheduling server, origin servers, and a plurality of encoders.
Abstract: A vehicle includes a controller, programmed to responsive to user input to pick up an item at a shop, calculate an estimated time of arrival (ETA) to the shop and a predicted preparation time for the item by the shop; and responsive to a current time being within a grace period to the preparation time before the ETA, place an order for the item.

Abstract: An exemplary method relates to operating a door closer assembly including a closer body, a pinion rotatably mounted to the closer body, a motor including a motor shaft, and a bidirectional clutch connected between the pinion and the motor shaft. The method generally involves permitting, by the clutch, rotation of the pinion in each of a first direction and a second direction without transmitting rotation of the pinion in either direction to the motor shaft; sensing, with a sensor, a rotational position of the pinion; comparing, by a controller, the rotational position of the pinion with a desired rotational position; based upon the comparing, driving the motor to rotate the motor shaft; and by the clutch, coupling the motor shaft with the pinion in response to rotation of the motor shaft, thereby transmitting torque from the motor shaft to the pinion and urging the pinion toward the desired rotational position.

Abstract: Prediction information of a current block is decoded. The prediction information indicates an affine merge model, and the current block includes control points. A first candidate control point motion vector (CPMV) for a first control point of the control points is determined based on one of at least two CPMVs of a first neighboring block of the first control point and a translational motion vector of a second neighboring block of the first control point. Affine merge candidates for the current block are derived based on candidate CPMVs for the control points of the current block. The candidate CPMVs of the control points includes the first candidate CPMV. Parameters of the affine merge model are determined based on one of the affine merge candidates that is defined according to the prediction information. At least a sample of the current block is reconstructed according to the affine merge model.

Abstract: A system according to the present disclosure assists utility companies with understanding the potential impact of wet snow and ice accumulations that have the potential to bring down utility infrastructure, such as power lines. The system described herein uses a probabilistic forecast methodology, using weather forecasts as inputs, to develop probable ice and wet-snow accretion predictions and uses those predictions to develop a number of possible events and, in certain embodiments, the events' locations and time of occurrence. The system can provide a probabilistic map of potential impacts to utility lines, thereby giving utility companies the ability to proactively deploy crews before storms arrive.
Abstract: A ladder standoff includes at least one bent plate that is configured to be detachably engaged with at least one ladder rung of a ladder by at least one connection plate that is configured to be detachably connected to the bent plate and to the ladder rung. The ladder standoff may be attached to a ladder and used to secure a ladder to a vertically-extending building wall structure at a selected distance. The length of the ladder standoff can be extended in a substantially horizontal direction in relation to the vertically extending ladder and vertically extending building wall to provide a ladder standoff with variable lengths to accommodate different distances between the ladder and the surface of the vertically extending building wall.
Abstract: A staple gun and a method of using the same. A stapling mechanism in the housing is activated to deliver a staple through an aperture in a housing wall and drive the staple into a surface around a stack of one or more electric cables. The gun includes a reciprocating cable guide for centering the gun on the stack of cables and closing a safety switch to permit the gun's trigger to be activated. A spacer extending outwardly from the housing wall rests on the upper surface of the cable stack. The spacer and a bumper that engages a hammer of the stapling mechanism provide for automatic depth adjustment when driving the staple into the surface. A reciprocating cable guard extending outwardly from the housing wall is positioned between the stack of cables and the staple to aid in preventing the staple from piercing the cable.
