Abstract: A system and circuit for television power state control are disclosed. In one embodiment, a power management circuit communicatively controls television or set-top box components including a signal processing circuitry, a screen, and a visual indicator. The power management circuit selectively alternates the television between three states: powered ON/operating state (first state); power standby state (second state); and no/low power state (third state). Utilized with a television in a commercial or residential application, the system and circuit are employed to provide accelerated turn-on time to receive an image for user interaction, while providing sufficient control to maintain energy power savings.

Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for calibrating an effective area associated with an exhaust gas recirculation valve and/or a variable orifice associated with the exhaust gas recirculation valve. In one example, a method may include attaining a first steady-state intake pressure with the exhaust gas recirculation valve closed, determining a second steady-state intake pressure and a differential pressure across the variable orifice with the exhaust gas recirculation valve open, and estimating the variable orifice effective area based on the second steady-state intake pressure and the differential pressure. In this way, a calibration table may be updated for an exhaust gas recirculation control apparatus that includes an exhaust gas recirculation valve and a variable orifice, such that an actual amount of recirculated exhaust gas reflects a commanded amount.
Abstract: Methods, systems and computer program products provide protection domains for processes in shared address space. Multiple processes may share address space, for example, in a software isolated process running on top of a library operating system (OS). A protection domain (PD), such as a Protection Key (PKEY), may be assigned to a process to protect its allocated address spaces from access by other processes. PDs may be acquired from a host OS. A library OS may manage PDs to protect processes and/or data. A PD may be freed and reassigned to a different process or may be concurrently assigned to multiple processes, for example, when the number of processes exceeds the number of protection domains. Threads spawned by a process may inherit protection provided by a PD assigned to the process. Process PDs may be disassociated with address spaces as they are deallocated for a process or its threads.

Abstract: Systems and methods for monitoring and tracking usage of a lamp and, in one example, assigning a monetary value that can be billed to an end user are provided. Examples of the lamps can communicate wirelessly in order to receive and to transmit information related to initialization, authorization, electrical power consumption monitoring, and combinations thereof. In one embodiment, the lamp transmits data a usage parameter to a service provider via a network. The service provider can aggregate the data and, in one example, assign a usage fee that describes a monetary value based on the usage parameter and generate an output that includes that usage fee.
Abstract: Techniques are described herein that are capable of implementing a client-side policy on client-side logic. The client-side policy is configured to support client-side hooks by configuring a rule in the client-side policy to be applied to the client-side logic, which is configured to be executed in a browser of a client device in a network-based system. The rule indicates an administrator-defined action to be performed in response to a request to execute the client-side logic. The administrator-defined action is defined by an administrator of the network-based system. The request to execute the client-side logic in the browser is received. The administrator-defined action is performed based at least in part on the rule in the client-side policy in response to receipt of the request.
Abstract: A system includes control circuitry that obtains surrounding environment scan information from each repeater device of a network of repeater devices. A plurality of signal propagation indicators is determined, and a three-dimensional representation of a geographical area is generated based on the obtained surrounding environment scan information and plurality of signal propagation indicators. A location and movement of a plurality of user devices in the geographical area is tracked and a beamforming scheme is selected for one or more repeater devices of the network of repeater devices. An out-of-band control of operations of the network of repeater devices is executed based on the generated three-dimensional representation, the selected beamforming scheme for the one or more repeater devices, and the tracked location and movement of the plurality of user devices in the geographical area, for example, to achieve high dates, less interference, and increased signal strength and gain.
Abstract: A method by a controller of a cooling system includes calculating a difference between a first temperature of ambient air and a second temperature of pre-cooled air. The pre-cooled air is ambient air that has been cooled by water from a water distribution system before it enters one or more condenser coils. The method further includes determining that the difference between the first and second temperatures is less than or equal to a predetermined temperature difference, and in response, determining that the first temperature is greater than or equal to a minimum temperature. The method further includes, if the first temperature is greater than or equal to the minimum temperature, instructing the water distribution system to distribute the water to pre-cool the ambient air for a predetermined length of time and to disable the distribution of the water after the predetermined amount of time has elapsed.
Abstract: The present technology pertains to a task management system for map labeling tasks. The system can determine when one task is dependent on completion of another task and schedule those tasks accordingly. Further the system can ensure that tasks are completed with a proper priority and can track completion of these tasks. The present technology ensures sufficient work is completed to speed up map release versions.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides an intelligent lighting control system. A controller of the lighting control system causes a phase change cut to be applied to an AC power signal to signal to a light bulb apparatus connected to a luminaire a request to self identify. The encoded phase changed AC power signal is transmitted to the light bulb apparatus for a predetermined time period. A response signal received from the light bulb in response to receipt of the encoded phase changed AC power signal by the light bulb is detected at the lighting control system. A bulb identification is determined based on the response signal from the light bulb apparatus.
