Abstract: A wireless device receives a first configuration parameter used in determination of a first sequence of bit(s). The wireless device may receive a DCI comprising a hybrid automatic repeat request process number field comprising first bit(s). The wireless device may validate the DCI. The validation of the DCI may be based on comparing the first bit(s) with the first sequence in response to the first bit(s) not indicating a configuration index. The validation of the DCI may not be based on the first bit(s) in response to the first bit(s) indicating a configuration index. The wireless device may activate or deactivate resources.
Abstract: An apparatus includes a plurality of NAND strings in a block with word lines connected to cells of the NAND strings and select lines connected to select gate transistors of the NAND strings. A plurality of blocks are connected together and selected for operations using a block select signal. A control circuit is configured to, after a read operation of memory cells of the block, hold a block select signal applied to a block select line to select a group of blocks having a same block select line at an on level. The control circuit can further discharge an unselected control gate in the group of blocks from a charged level to a lower level, lower than charged, prior to turning off the block select signal and charge the unselected control gate to a level greater than the lower level after the block select signal transitions from the on level to an off level.
Abstract: A system that incorporates aspects of the subject disclosure may perform operations including, for example, obtaining uplink information associated with a plurality of communication devices transmitting wireless signals on a plurality of uplink paths, performing, based on the uplink information, a plurality of measurements of the plurality of uplink paths, identifying a measurement from the plurality of measurements that is below a threshold, and initiating a corrective action to improve a measurement of an affected uplink path of the plurality of uplink paths based on the identifying. Other embodiments are disclosed.
Abstract: A breath test and a breath test method for diagnosing abnormal gastric emptying using a 13C labeled breath test meal by identifying the time of maximum excretion of 13CO2 in the breath samples. The test and test method include supplying a subject with the breath test meal, collecting a breath sample of the subject at a plurality of time points after the subject consumes the meal, generating measurements of 13CO2 excretion from the breath samples, identifying a time Tmax at which 13CO2 excretion is maximal, comparing Tmax to a cut-off value. The subject may be diagnosed as having delayed gastric emptying if Tmax is greater than the Tmax cut-off value.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and apparatus for cleaning an oil and gas well riser section or assembly on location offshore that includes a larger diameter central pipe and a plurality of smaller diameter pipes that are spaced radially away from the central larger diameter pipe. Even more particularly, the present invention relates to an improved method and apparatus for cleaning oil and gas well riser sections wherein a specially configured cap or pair of caps are fitted to the ends of the riser which enable pressure washing cleaning tools (or a camera) to be inserted into and through a selected one of the pipes including either a smaller diameter of the pipes or the central larger diameter pipe and wherein the cap continuously collects spent cleaning fluid and debris, allowing the cleaning process to be done on location without transporting the riser section back onshore.

Abstract: A load cell for use with a tong assembly includes a body; a chamber formed in the body; and a strain gauge disposed in the chamber. The load cell also includes a first eye for pivotal coupling to the tong assembly, and a second eye for pivotal coupling to the tong assembly. An optional biasing member is disposed around the second eye for biasing the body relative to the tong assembly.
Abstract: A method of resizing a block storage volume for a virtual machine includes executing the virtual machine and attaching a virtual storage device to the virtual machine. The virtual storage device exposes the block storage volume on memory hardware to the virtual machine. The block storage volume includes a first storage capacity. The method also includes mounting the block storage volume to the virtual machine and resizing the block storage volume while the virtual machine continues to execute. The block storage volume is resized without attaching an additional virtual storage device to the virtual machine or mounting an additional block storage volume to the virtual machine.

Abstract: A method is used in managing an asynchronous and synchronous transmit priority mechanism. The method receives a plurality of replication requests in conjunction with a replication process, where the plurality of replication requests comprises at least one of a first replication request or a second replication request. A first storage system that comprises a plurality of storage devices is configured to participate in the replication process with a second storage system that comprises a plurality of storage devices. The method optimizes at least one second replication request to optimize processing of the plurality of replication requests.
Abstract: A system for sterilizing a physical space, such as a hotel room. The system generates and distributes heated air to the physical space to elevate the temperature of the space to a level sufficient to achieve a desired sterilization effect of eradicating insects and microoganisms. The system is portable and self-contained. The system includes a hydrogen fuel cell that generates electrical power. An electrical system conditions and stores the electrical power and supplies stored electrical power to the system components and peripherals. System components include a source of hydrogen, a heater, an air distributor, and a filter. Peripherals include a UV light source and an aerosol dispenser. The combination of heat, UV light and aerosol disinfectant effectively eradicates insects, microorganisms, allergens, and odors in the physical space.

Abstract: A rotor for a high temperature rotary pre-heater includes a hub that has an exterior surface thereon. The rotor includes an annular rim positioned around and coaxially with the hub. The annular rim has an interior surface. A plurality of partitions extend between the hub and the annular rim. Each of the partitions is located in a predetermined circumferential position by one or more alignment features. The exterior surface, the interior surface and/or the partitions have one or more of the alignment features thereon.
Abstract: A technique includes accessing data representing a plurality of values; and determining a pseudonym value for a given value of the plurality of values. Determining the pseudonym includes encrypting the given value to provide a first encrypted value; encrypting an attribute that is associated with the given value to provide a second encrypted value; and generating the pseudonym value based on the first encrypted value and the second encrypted value.
Abstract: A repositionable display panel includes a rigid image plate that includes a front surface configured to receive a colorant to form an image thereon and a back surface opposite to the first surface. The rigid image plate is defined by an image plate thickness and image plate widths. A spacer block is defined by a spacer block thickness and spacer block widths smaller than the image plate widths. A pressure-sensitive adhesive layer between the back surface of the rigid image plate and the spacer block bonds the rigid image plate and the spacer block together.

Abstract: A safety switch includes an actuator that has a first possible actuator position and a second possible actuator position and a blocker that has a first possible blocker position and a second possible blocker position. The first possible blocker position overlaps with the second possible actuator position. The safety switch includes a device for generating an electrical signal representative of a current position of the actuator. When the actuator is in the first possible actuator position and the blocker is in the first possible blocker position, the blocker prevents movement of the actuator from the first possible actuator position to the second possible actuator position without first moving the blocker from the first possible blocker position to the second possible blocker position.
Abstract: Systems and techniques for leveraging query executions to improve index recommendations are described herein. In an example, a machine learning model is adapted to receive a first query plan and a second query plan for performing a query with a database, where the first query plan is different from the second query plan. The machine learning model may be further adapted to determine execution cost efficiency between the first query plan and the second query plan. The machine learning model is trained using relative execution cost comparisons between a set of pairs of query plans for the database. The machine learning model is further adapted to output a ranking of the first query plan and second query plan, where the first query plan and second query plan are ranked based on execution cost efficiency.

Abstract: A computer-implemented technique receives an input expression that a user submits with an intent to accomplish some objective. The technique then uses a machine-trained intent encoder component to map the input expression into an input expression intent vector (IEIV). The IEIV corresponds to a distributed representation of the intent associated with the input expression, within a vector intent vector space. The technique then leverages the intent vector to facilitate some downstream application task, such as the retrieval of information. Some application tasks also use a neighbor search component to find expressions that express an intent similar to that of the input expression. A training system trains the intent encoder component based on the nexus between queries and user clicks, as recorded in a search engine's search log.
