Abstract: An insulating device can include a body assembly and a lid assembly where an insulating layer and aerogel structure is connected to both the body assembly and the lid assembly. An aperture with a closure is formed between the body assembly and lid assembly to form a storage compartment. The insulating layer and aerogel structure on the lid assembly may extend beyond the closure when the closure is sealed. The insulating layer and aerogel structure on the lid assembly may have an insulating ring and aerogel ring structure that has an increased thickness around its perimeter.

Abstract: A system, method, and computer-readable medium are disclosed for improved generation and use of personnel work graphs that show relations between entities, such as people, communication between people, work artifacts with people, and work artifacts with other work artifacts. Data from different importers are identified, where new data sources can be added at a later time and data is seamlessly added to the graphical representation of the work graphs. Data includes personnel and work artifacts. Since object related data, such as work, roles and responsibilities continuously change, in at least one embodiment, a continuous process of importing and synchronization is performed for the data, and a graphical representation of the data is created.

Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure provide methods, apparatuses, and non-transitory computer-readable mediums for receiving media content. An apparatus includes processing circuitry that receives a media presentation description (MPD) file. The MPD file indicates a validity period in which a resolution of a remote element of the MPD file is valid. The processing circuitry determines whether the remote element has been resolved during the validity period indicated by the MPD file based on a media presentation being determined to be within the validity period. The processing circuitry resolves the remote element of the MPD file based on the remote element being determined not to be resolved in the validity period. The processing circuitry outputs media content corresponding to the same resolved remote element in the validity period for each reference to the remote element in the MPD during the validity period.

Abstract: The present disclosure generally relates to a system, comprising a mobile device configured to register with a service provider via an application program, obtain network credentials of communication networks operated by the service provider at various locations, connect to a communication network via the network credentials when approaching a selected location of the service provider, and transmit, to a first computing device via the communication network, a first identifier that uniquely identifies the mobile device. The system also comprises the first computing device positioned at service provider's locations and configured to receive and transmit the first identifier to a second computing device. The system also comprises the second computing device configured to receive the first identifier, compare the unique identifier to a plurality of unique identifiers, and provide a service customized to a user of the mobile device based at least upon the comparison result.

Abstract: In the present disclosure, a method for compressing a feature map is provided, where the feature map is generated by passing a first input through a deep neural network (DNN). A respective optimal index order and a respective optimal unifying method are determined for each of super-blocks that are partitioned from the feature map. A selective structured unification (SSU) layer is subsequently determined based on the respective optimal index order and the respective optimal unifying method for each of the super-blocks. The SSU layer is added to the DNN to form an updated DNN, and is configured to perform unification operations on the feature map. Further, a first estimated output is determined, where the first estimated output is generated by passing the first input through the updated DNN.

Abstract: A pain relief device and process or system to aid in the resolution of or otherwise treat pain in a body of a human or animal including at least one layer of PVDF film. An EL platform light therapy device is described which includes a layer of PVDF film and may also include a vibration element as well as at least one noise generator. An advanced modulated multi-mode red light device is also described here having an EL inverter (which can be sound generated), an EL panel (which can be sound generated), a magnetic strip field modulation, a double stick tape field distribution, a PVDF or tri-polymer resonance drive, and a three layer red filter wave generator. Shoe insert uses are also described along with alternative devices with EL tape as another improvement used in various alternatives, which may also include an inverter.

Abstract: The present technology provides a battery that includes an air cathode, an anode, an aqueous electrolyte that includes an amphoteric surfactant, and a housing that includes one or more air access ports defining a total area of void space (“vent area”), where (1) the battery is a size 13 metal-air battery and the total vent area defined by all of the air access ports is from about 0.050 mm2 to about 0.115 mm2; or (2) the battery is a size 312 metal-air battery and the total vent area defined by all of the air access ports is from about 0.03 mm2 to about 0.08 mm2.

Abstract: Systems and methods for encoded communications are disclosed. In some embodiments, a server system may be configured to receive a communication from a user interface at an encoded communication module that includes an artificial intelligence based natural language processing module, determine whether the received communication is an encoded communication, decode the encoded communication to generate a financial query when it is determined that the received communication is an encoded communication, retrieve financial data associated with the user, determine an answer to the financial query based on the retrieved financial data, encode the determined answer to generate an encoded responsive communication, and transmit the generated encoded responsive communication to the user interface for providing to a user of the user interface.

Abstract: A dual motor powered compact drive comprises two electrical motors powering the planetary gear mechanism. The dual drive can provide variable speed and torque. A single electric motor operated braking system with a screw-driven wedged brake pads is described using a compact test set-up. The system comprises at least one motor and a screw shaft connected to transmit the power to a sliding plunger, and braking pads located on a braking disc, and a force sensor applied to measure the braking force, and a device to measure the parameters of the braking motor and the parameters are used as the inputs to establish a control strategy. Systems and methods for monitoring a battery pack including multiple cells are provided. The battery management system further comprises a control strategy for implementing a balancing algorithm. A balancing strategy comprises a determination of battery cells to be balanced, and a calculated balancing current.

Abstract: A head mounted display device is provided that includes a display device, a camera device, an input device, and a processor. The processor is configured to store a database of physical objects and virtual objects that have been associated with one or more semantic tags. The processor is further configured to receive a natural language input from a user via the input device and perform semantic processing on the natural language input to determine a user specified operation and identify one or more semantic tags indicated by the natural language input. The processor is further configured to select a target virtual object and a target physical object based on the identified one or more semantic tags, perform the determined user specified operation on the target virtual object based on the target physical object, and display the target virtual object at a physical location associated with the target physical object.

Abstract: The disclosure is generally directed to systems and methods for sharing a video feed of a camera among multiple image processing components in a vehicle. A first priority may be applied to a first image processing component that performs a first image processing function. A second priority that is lower than the first priority, is applied to a second image processing component that performs a second image processing function. The first function may be deemed more important than the second function due to various reasons. Consequently, the first image processing component is offered priority to apply a first set of camera settings on the camera. The second image processing component may prefer to apply a different set of camera settings for executing the second image processing function. An access arbitrator allows the second image processing component to do so when the first image processing component relinquishes control of the camera.

Abstract: A DC-DC converter including voltage and slope regulation and a method of operating the same are provided. Generally, the converter includes a voltage source to supply an output, a switching-circuit coupled to the voltage sources to control a voltage on the output, and a slope-detector coupled to the switching-circuit and the output to detect a slope of a voltage transition between a first and a second voltage. When the detected slope exceeds a predetermined maximum the slope-detector sends a digital signal to the switching-circuit to intermittently pause the voltage transition to limit the slope to less than the maximum. In one embodiment, the voltage source is a charge-pump, and the switching-circuit includes a logic-gate coupled to the slope-detector to turn the charge-pump ON when the detected slope is less than the maximum, and to turn OFF the charge-pump for a time when the slope exceeds the maximum.

A switch from the active bandwidth part to a default bandwidth part is made in response to an expiry of the bandwidth part inactivity timer.

Abstract: A system includes at least one processor and a memory. The memory stores a dimensionally aware model generated based on a training set and guided by feature dimensions and instructions for execution by the at least one processor. The instructions include, in response to receiving a set of data from a user device, identifying a set of features from the set of data and applying the dimensionally aware model to the set of features by implementing a boundary representation. The instructions include classifying the set of features as acceptable in response to the implementation of the boundary representation indicating the set of features are outside the boundary representation, classifying the set of features as unacceptable in response to the implementation of the boundary representation indicating the set of features are inside the boundary representation, and generating, for display on the user device, an alert based on the classification.

Abstract: The disclosure is generally directed to remotely-controlled automated vehicle parking operations. A driver of a vehicle stands on a curb and launches a software application on a handheld device. The software application uses a camera of the handheld device to capture images of the vehicle that can be observed by the driver. The software application then attempts to obtain a visual lock between the camera and the vehicle. In some cases, obtaining the visual lock may be hampered due to adverse lighting conditions. Light may be transmitted from the handheld device to illuminate the vehicle for better image capture. Alternatively, a command can be transmitted from the handheld device to a controller in the vehicle for turning on a light in the vehicle. After obtaining visual lock, various techniques such as vehicle path prediction and interpolation, can be used for effectively tracking the vehicle.

Abstract: There is disclosed in one example a computing apparatus, including: a hardware platform including a processor and a memory; and an anomaly detection engine including instructions encoded within the memory to instruct the processor to: periodically collect telemetry for a performance parameter; compute and maintain a local trend line for the performance parameter; receive from a cloud service a global trend line for the performance parameter for a class of devices including the computing apparatus; and perform anomaly detection including analyzing the local trend line and the global trend line to detect an anomaly.
