  • Patent number: 11113577
Abstract: An x-ray image laterality detection system is provided. The x-ray image laterality detection system includes a detection computing device. The processor of the computing device is programmed to execute a neural network model for analyzing x-ray images, wherein the neural network model is trained with training x-ray images as inputs and observed laterality classes associated with the training x-ray images as outputs. The process is also programmed to receive an unclassified x-ray image, analyze the unclassified x-ray image using the neural network model, and assign a laterality class to the unclassified x-ray image. If the assigned laterality class is not target laterality, the processor is programmed to adjust the unclassified x-ray image to derive a corrected x-ray image having the target laterality and output the corrected x-ray image. If the assigned laterality class is the target laterality, the processor is programmed to output the unclassified x-ray image.

  • Patent number: 11114100
Abstract: Methods, apparatus, and computer readable media are described related to automated assistants that proactively incorporate, into human-to-computer dialog sessions, unsolicited content of potential interest to a user. In various implementations, based on content of an existing human-to-computer dialog session between a user and an automated assistant, an entity mentioned by the user or automated assistant may be identified. Fact(s)s related to the entity or to another entity that is related to the entity may be identified based on entity data contained in database(s). For each of the fact(s), a corresponding measure of potential interest to the user may be determined. Unsolicited natural language content may then be generated that includes one or more of the facts selected based on the corresponding measure(s) of potential interest. The automated assistant may then incorporate the unsolicited content into the existing human-to-computer dialog session or a subsequent human-to-computer dialog session.

Abstract: A soft tissue repair device can include a housing having a handle, a deployment system having an actuation member, and an insertion system having an inserter and a slider. The slider can be coupled to the actuation member and movable relative to the inserter between deployed and retracted positions. First and second anchors can be carried on an external surface of the slider such that the anchors are spaced apart and portions of the anchors are coaxial with the slider and each other. A flexible strand can couple the anchors. The insertion system can cooperate with the deployment system to move the slider to the deployed position to deploy the first anchor upon activating the actuation member a first time, and to move the slider to the deployed position from the retracted position to deploy the second anchor upon actuating the actuation member a second time after the first time.

  • Patent number: 11113505
Abstract: In some implementations, a method may be used for matching palm print images. A search template that identifies at least a plurality of distinctive search orientation blocks within a search orientation field may be initially generated for a search palm print image. A reference template may be obtained. A mated distinctive reference orientation block may be identified for each of the distinctive search orientation blocks. One or more regions of the search orientation field that include the distinctive search orientation blocks may be compared against one or more corresponding regions of the reference orientation field. An orientation similarity score between the search palm print image and the reference palm print image may be computed based on the comparison. A match may finally be determined if the computed orientation score satisfies a predetermined threshold value.

  • Patent number: 11113880
Abstract: Particular embodiments described herein present a technique for mesh simplification. A computing system may receive a request to render an image of a virtual scene including a virtual object. The system may determine one or more positions of the virtual object relative to one or more of a foveal focus point or a lens, respectively. The system may determine a screen coverage size of the virtual object. The system may then determine a simplification level for the virtual object based on the determined position(s) and the screen coverage size of the virtual object. The system may generate a mesh representation of the virtual object based on the determined simplification level, where the number of polygons used in the mesh representation depends on the determined simplification level. The system may render the image of the virtual scene using at least the generated mesh representation of the virtual object.

  • Patent number: 11109869
Abstract: An embodiment of the invention is a shape memory polymer (SMP) foam designed to recover its original shape through exposure to a solvent. Thermo-responsive SMPs are polymers designed to maintain a programmed secondary shape until heated above their transition temperature, upon which the polymer recovers its original, or primary, shape. The thermo-responsive SMP foam is programmed to its secondary shape prior to use, typically compression of the foam to a small volume, and remains in this programmed shape until exposed to a selected solvent such as dimethyl sulfoxide or ethyl alcohol. Upon exposure to the solvent, the transition temperature of the SMP foam decreases below the temperature of the environment and the SMP foam actuates to its primary shape. The SMP foam is tailored to actuate upon exposure to specific solvents while minimizing or preventing actuation when exposed to water or other solvents.
