Abstract: An orthopedic walking boot includes a housing configured to encompass at least a user's foot, a mechanically adjustable ramp insert including a ramp surface and disposed in the housing, and an adjusting mechanism configured to adjust an elevation angle of the ramp surface. The mechanically adjustable ramp insert includes a base, a threaded shaft secured to the adjusting mechanism at a first end and configured to rotate with the adjusting mechanism, a first slider nut including internal threads, a bracket in physical contact with the ramp surface, a first support coupled to the first slider nut at a first end and to the bracket at a second end, and a second support coupled to the base at a first end and to the bracket at a second end.

Abstract: A head-mounted display device for providing augmented reality contents to a wearer includes an eye tracker, a light projector, a beam steerer and a combiner. The eye tracker is configured to determine a position of a pupil of an eye of the wearer. The light projector is configured to project light for rendering images. The beam steerer is configured to change a direction of the light from the light projector based on the position of the pupil. The combiner is configured to combine the light from the light projector and light from an outside of the head-mounted display device for providing an overlap of the rendered image and a real image that corresponds to the light from the outside of the head-mounted display device.

Abstract: A system hosts a file system representing a replica of file systems hosted on a plurality of nodes, each node storing data on a first storage medium. The system stores data on a second storage medium that is slower than the first storage medium. The system stores on the second storage medium a file received from one of the nodes when the file remains un-accessed by the nodes for a predetermined period of time. The first storage medium on the plurality of nodes stores a pointer to the file and not the data content of the file stored on the second storage medium. The system provides the file from the second storage medium to the first storage medium on one of the nodes while providing the plurality of nodes read and write access to the file stored on the second storage medium using the pointer on the first storage medium.

Abstract: Implementations relate to mitigating client device latency in rendering of remotely generated automated assistant content. Some of those implementations mitigate client device latency between rendering of multiple instances of output that are each based on content that is responsive to a corresponding automated assistant action of a multiple action request. For example, those implementations can reduce latency between rendering of first output that is based on first content responsive to a first automated assistant action of a multiple action request, and second output that is based on second content responsive to a second automated assistant action of the multiple action request.

Abstract: A device, system and method for controlling speed of a vehicle are provided. The device includes a locational information module for determining location information and speed; a storage module for storing at least one geographic map including at least one route and a speed limit for the at least one route; a processing module configured to receive the location information, retrieve at least one geographic map based on the location information, determine a speed limit based on the location information and compare the speed of the device to the determined speed limit; and a display module for alerting a user if the speed of the device exceeds the determined speed limit. The system and method can be for communicating a subject vehicle's speed to a central server where it can be utilized to analyze traffic congestion patterns or notify selected companies or individuals.

Abstract: An article of rolling luggage is provided. The article has a retractable or collapsible handle that is convertible between a stored position and a first extended position of use. The handle is also rotatable about an axis such that the handle can be converted between a second extended position of use. The second extended position of use is characterized in that the luggage item may be provided such that a base portion of the item is substantially adjacent to and parallel with a ground surface. Various locking means to enable conversion between the stored position, first extended position of use and second extended position of use are also provided.

Abstract: A wheel suspension for a motor vehicle wheel for damping NVH effects, wherein the NVH effects are transmitted from an automatic transmission to the driven wheel via the drive train at idle. The NVH effects can potentially be transmitted from the wheel to the vehicle structure via the wheel suspension. The wheel suspension having at least one elastic element, the stiffness of which in a vertical direction of deflection has a softer stiffness characteristic in a deflection range close to the zero point than in deflection ranges more remote from the zero point.

Abstract: A system and method are provided for optimizing histogram cumulative distribution function curves. In use, a first image is received and divided into two or more pixel regions. For at least one of the two or more pixel regions, a first histogram is computed, and based on the first histogram, at least one cumulative distribution function is computed for the at least one of the two or more pixel regions. Next, based on the at least one cumulative distribution function, two or more curve fit coefficients are extracted and interpolated. Further, an interpolated cumulative distribution function is created based on the interpolation and the interpolated cumulative distribution function is applied to the at least one of the two or more pixel regions.

Abstract: The present application relates to compositions and methods for modulation of the mucosal immune system. The compositions include foods fermented by the probiotic organism, Lactobacillus paracasei CBA L74 (International Depository Accession Number LMG P-24778). Alternatively, the compositions can include L. paracasei CBA L74 and a physiologically acceptable carrier. In some embodiments, the L. paracasei CBA L74 can be non-replicating. The compositions can be administered to a subject having or at risk for gastrointestinal disorders related to immaturity of the immune system, infection or disease.

Abstract: Disclosed herein includes a system, a method, and a device for prioritizing packet retransmission. A transmitting device can insert, for each packet of a plurality of packets of a video frame, a sequence number indicative of an order of the corresponding packet among the plurality of packets, into a header of the corresponding packet according to an application layer protocol. The transmitting device can transmit to the receiving device, at a first level of priority, the plurality of packets including the corresponding inserted sequence numbers. The transmitting device can receive an identification of one or more packets to be retransmitted to the receiving device, the identification based on at least the inserted sequence numbers of the one or more packets. The transmitting device can retransmit the one or more packets at a second level of priority that is higher than the first level of priority.

An exemplary filter device includes a microstructure filter has a plurality of layers of alternating sacrificial and/or structural material which have been etched to create inlet channels and outlet channels. Adjacent ones of the inlet channels and the outlet channels are spaced apart from one another by cross channels that filter a fluid from the inlet channels to the outlet channels. The cross channels include filter features formed by etching away of a portion of the layers. The device also includes a housing configured to receive the microstructure filter.

The pair of magnets provide a greater field strength for determining a position of the target.

Abstract: A computer-implemented technique is described herein for assisting an administrative user in generating negative feature information. The negative feature information, which includes a list of negative features (e.g., negative keywords), defines when queries submitted by end users are expressly disqualified as matching one or more parts of an identified web resource. The technique then automatically assesses the manner in which the negative feature information conflicts with matching between the queries submitted by end users and positive trigger information associated with the web resource, to provide conflict output information. The technique then modifies the negative feature information based on the conflict output information, e.g., by eliminating one or more negative keywords that contribute to conflicts.

Abstract: A method of controlling intra-inter prediction for decoding or encoding of a video sequence, is performed by at least one processor. The method includes determining whether one or more neighboring blocks in a video sequence is coded by an intra prediction mode, entropy coding a prediction mode flag of a current block by a first context in response to determining that at least one of the neighboring blocks is coded by the intra prediction mode, and entropy coding the prediction mode flag of the current block by a second context in response to determining that none of the neighboring blocks are coded by at least the intra prediction mode.
