Abstract: In one embodiment, a data center cooling system includes one or more information technology (IT) rooms having multiple electronic racks that generate heat. An external cooling unit is positioned above the IT rooms and is configured to provide cooling fluid and to exchange heat carried by the cooling fluid. The external cooling unit has a supply line to distribute cooling fluid downwardly to the IT rooms. As the cooling fluid cools the electronic racks, the cooling fluid heats up and at least partially turns to vapor which rises due to convection. The external cooling unit also has a return line to return the rising vapor to the external cooling unit, which cools the vapor. The vapor changes phase to liquid and is recirculated to the IT rooms.

Abstract: Biochar is provided that is treated to have certain chemical and physical properties found to have the highest impact on plant growth and/or soil health. In particular, the following physical and/or chemical properties, among others, of a biochar have been identified as critical properties to control for in the selection of biomass feedstock, pyrolysis conditions, and/or enhancing treatment to increase biochar performance: (i) bulk density (ii) impregnation capacity; (iii) particle size distribution; (iv) solid particle density; (v) surface area; (vi) porosity; (vii) total porosity; (viii) ratio of macroporosity to total porosity (ix) content of residual organic compounds; (x) content of volatile organic compounds; (xii) ash content; (xiii) water holding capacity; (xiv) water retention capabilities; (xv) levels of dioxins and other potentially hazardous byproducts of pyrolysis; and (xvi) pH.

The system may receive positive smart contracts that comply with regulations, convert positive section(s) of the positive smart contracts into a first set of intermediate representation of code, and train a neural network to classify smart contract sections. The system may then receive a first smart contract including first sections, convert the first sections into a second set of intermediate representation of code, classify the second set of intermediate representation of code as a first classification corresponding to the first set of intermediate representation of code or as a second classification not corresponding to the first set of intermediate representation of code, and generate for display a negative or positive indication based on the classification.

Abstract: Systems and methods for placement of both the prosthetic acetabular cup and the prosthetic femoral head which takes account of the patient's particular anatomy, with inter-operative testing of the patient's body to find an optimum positioning (angles) for the components. The system allows a procedure with less pre-operative and inter-operative imaging, providing for reduced radiation exposure for doctors and patients.

Abstract: A fastener assembly includes a threaded member including a threaded body portion and a head portion. The fastener assembly also includes a first lock member including a plurality of axially-extending ratchet teeth and defining an aperture extending therethrough. The aperture is sized to receive the threaded body portion. The fastener assembly further includes a second lock member including a base portion configured to couple to the threaded member for rotation therewith and at least one spring finger extending axially from the base portion. The at least one spring finger has a proximal end joined to the base portion and a free end opposite the proximal end. The second lock member has a lock position in which the free end of the at least one spring finger is configured to engage the plurality of axially-extending ratchet teeth and an unlock position in which the free end of the at least one spring finger is spaced from the plurality of axially-extending ratchet teeth.

Abstract: The described technology is generally directed towards obtaining data, such as corresponding to a read request, from a geographic zone which may not be the zone that owns the data. When a request for data (e.g., a data segment) is received by a zone that does not own the requested data, the zone evaluates statistical data to determine whether it is more efficient to obtain the requested data directly from the zone that owns the data, or indirectly from one or more zones that contain related data from which the requested data can be reconstructed. If the indirect route is deemed sufficiently more efficient, the reconstruction data (e.g., counterpart segments) are obtained, and processed into the requested data, e.g., by XOR-ing the counterpart data segments into the requested data segment for returning to the client.

Abstract: A first coating is provided on a first side of a glass substrate, and a second coating is provided on a second side of the glass substrate, directly or indirectly. The coatings are designed to reduce color change of the overall coated article, from the perspective of a viewer, upon heat treatment (e.g., thermal tempering and/or heat strengthening) and/or to have respective reflective coloration that substantially compensates for each other. For instance, from the perspective of a viewer of the coated article, the first coating may experience a positive a* color value shift due to heat treatment (HT), while the second coating experiences a negative a* color shift due to the HT. Thus, from the perspective of the viewer, color change due to HT (e.g., thermal tempering) can be reduced or minimized, so that non-heat-treated versions and heat treated versions of the coated article appear similar to the viewer.

Abstract: Methods related to determining and utilizing one or more attributes to associate with an IP addresses. Attributes are determined based on request data provided with requests from an IP address and one or more available secondary information sources. Attributes may include physical locations and/or category designations for the IP address. One or more attributes may be assigned a likelihood value indicative of likelihood that the attribute is associated with the IP address. Some implementations are directed to utilizing the attributes and likelihood values to identify likely fraudulent information provided with requests. Some implementations are directed to utilizing the attributes and likelihood values to provide advertisements in response to requests from IP addresses.

Abstract: Apparatus and associated methods relate to a 3rd Party Asset Verification module (3PAV module) embodied in a computer system configured to: (1) transmit a unique access code to at least one entity, the unique access code (1a) associated with a user and the user's asset information, and (1b) permits access to the user's asset information stored in the controlled access data store, and (2) in response to a request for data from a broadcasted receiver of the unique access code, the request including the unique access code, returning the user's asset information stored in the controlled access data store. In an illustrative example, the unique code may be generated upon the user providing authorization, over a network, for other parties to access the user's asset information. Various implementations may provide for secure and controlled access to the user's trusted asset data, which may increase efficiency in a consumer-dealer-lender transaction.

The options module generates an options signal to show viewing options in the VR environment. The viewing options define viewing aspects for viewing the sports content within the VR environment. The sensor or input device generates signals based on detection of movement of the HMD, movement of an eyeball of a user, user voice communication, or user contact with the input device. The selection module, based on the signals: selects the sports content and a viewing option; and generates a selection signal. The display module displays the sports content in the VR environment based on the selection signal.

By this measure, an encoder is enabled to store a base-quality representation of a picture or a video sequence, which can be decoded by any legacy decoder or video decoder, together with an enhancement signal for higher bit-depth and/or reduced chroma sub-sampling, which may be ignored by legacy decoders or video decoders.

Abstract: A vehicle control system includes a controller that detects a communication loss between a first vehicle and a second vehicle and/or a monitoring device in a vehicle system. The controller operationally restricts movement of the vehicle system based on the communication loss. The controller obtains or generates a transitional plan that designates operational settings for the first vehicle and/or the second vehicle based at least in part on a location of the first vehicle and/or the second vehicle. The controller selectively changes movement of the first vehicle and/or the second vehicle via the transitional plan to reduce a speed of the first vehicle and/or the second vehicle responsive to the communication loss being detected.

Abstract: Techniques for using padding in format preserving encryption are provided. In one aspect, it may be determined if padding of a plaintext undergoing format preserving encryption is needed. A pseudo random padding length may be calculated when it is determined that padding is needed. The calculated length of padding may be added to the plaintext when it is determined that padding is needed. The plaintext and added padding may be encrypted using format preserving encryption to create a cipher text.
