Abstract: In an example, a method comprises determining, based on a set of metadata items to be stored, a first sequence and a second sequence, wherein the first sequence and the second sequence each include a plurality of key-value pairs, each key-value pair including a metadata item from the set of metadata items and a keyword corresponding to the metadata item in the set. The method also comprises causing a first co-routine to utilize available computing resources to process the first sequence. The method further comprises in response to an amount of computing resources available for the first co-routine to process the first sequence being below a first threshold, causing a second co-routine to process the second sequence, wherein the second co-routine is different from the first co-routine. This method can increase the utilization rate of the processor and more rapidly stores the metadata into the external storage device.

Abstract: A digital assistant supported on devices such as smartphones, tablets, personal computers, game consoles, etc. includes an extensibility client that exposes an interface and service that enables third party applications to be integrated with the digital assistant so the application user experiences are rendered using the native voice of the digital assistant. Specific voice inputs associated with a given application may be registered by developers using a manifest that is loaded when the application is launched on the device so that voice inputs from the device user can be mapped by the digital assistant extensibility client to the appropriate application as input events for consumption. In typical implementations, the manifest is arranged as a declarative document that streamlines application development and provides a seamless user experience by enabling customization of third party applications to integrate the digital assistant's voice and behaviors within the user experience of the application's domain.

Abstract: This document describes techniques using, and objects embodying, an interactive fabric which is configured to sense user interactions in the form of single or multi-touch-input (e.g., gestures). The interactive fabric may be integrated into a wearable interactive garment (e.g., a jacket, shirt, or pants) that is coupled (e.g., via a wired or wireless connection) to a gesture manager. The gesture manager may be implemented at the interactive garment, or remote from the interactive garment, such as at a computing device that is wirelessly paired with the interactive garment and/or at a remote cloud based service. Generally, the gesture manager recognizes user interactions to the interactive fabric, and in response, triggers various different types of functionality, such as answering a phone call, sending a text message, creating a journal entry, and so forth.

The pharmaceutical composition may be orally administered to a patient in either the fed or fasted state, with a decrease or elimination of the food effect. Abstract: A method of producing at least one or more resins is disclosed. The method includes providing an amount of raw coal. The raw coal includes one or more impurities therein. The method also includes beneficiating the amount of raw coal to selectively removing at least a portion of some of the one or more impurities in the raw coal to form beneficiated coal. Additionally, the method includes processing the beneficiated coal to produce an amount of pitch. The method further includes modifying at least some of the pitch to produce the one or more resins. The one or more resins include a selected amount of a remainder of the one or more impurities that were not removed while beneficiating the amount of the raw coal, processing the beneficiated coal, and modifying at least some of the pitch.

The bicontinuous phase formed between the hydrocarbon and liquid acid phases at surfactant addition facilitates and improves the liquid acid catalyzed alkylation reactions including motor-fuel alkylation reaction.

Abstract: A downhole acoustic transmitter has a piezoelectric transducer, an enclosure in which the piezoelectric transducer is housed, a transducer preload means which applies a selected compressive force against the transducer such that a mechanical preload is applied to the transducer, and an acoustic tuning element which has a first end coupled to the transducer preload means or the transducer, and an open second end. The acoustic tuning element is not coupled to anything but the transducer preload means or transducer, so the transducer preload means effectively has a second open end and thus can maintain the same preload compressive force on the transducer even when the transmitter is subjected to tension and compressive forces during operation.

Abstract: A head-mounted display comprises a display device and an outward-facing depth camera. A storage machine comprises instructions executable by a logic machine to present one or more virtual objects on the display device, to receive information from the depth camera about an environment, and to determine a position of the head-mounted display within the environment. Based on the position of the head-mounted display, a position of a joint of a user's arm is inferred. Based on the information received from the depth camera, a position of a user's hand is determined. A ray is cast from a portion of the user's hand based on the position of the joint of the user's arm and the position of the user's hand. Responsive to the ray intersecting with one or more control points of a virtual object, the user is provided with an indication that the virtual object is being targeted.

Abstract: A method and system is provided for the creation, management, and distribution of two dimensional video content that appears to a viewer as having a third dimension of depth. The system includes a camera array with multiple cameras at respective different positions that coordinates the off-center rotating motion of apertures that are part of diaphragms in the camera lens systems. The resulting images from each camera in the array are stitched together to create a larger content field and only a portion is displayed at any one time.
