  • Patent number: 11096136
Abstract: A method is provided for synchronizing timing in phase and frequency of clocks associated with a plurality of radio nodes (RNs) in a small cell radio access network (RAN) having an access controller operatively coupled to each of the RNs. In accordance with the method, a donor list is generated for each given RN in the RAN. The donor list represents an ordered list of potential wireless access points that are able to serve as a source of a wireless sync signal for the given RN. The donor lists are distributed to the respective RNs. An access point is selected by each of the RNs from their respective donor lists to use as a sync signal source. Each of the RNs synchronize their respective clocks in phase and frequency using wireless sync signals received from the respective selected access points.

  • Patent number: 11092347
Abstract: Multiple-zone chilled beam air conditioning systems for cooling multiple-zone spaces, methods of controlling chilled beams in multi-zone air conditioning systems, and chilled-beam modules for controlling zones of a chilled-beam heating and air conditioning system. Embodiments include a pump serving each zone that both recirculates water within the module and chilled beam and circulates water in and out of a chilled water distribution system through one or more valves to control the temperature of the water delivered to the chilled beams. Different embodiments adjust the temperature of the beam to avoid condensation, change pump speed to save energy or increase capacity, provide heating as well as cooling, use check valves to reduce the number of control valves required, can be used in two- or four-pipe systems, or a combination thereof.

  • Patent number: 11093034
Abstract: A method of tracking a gaze position of an eye in a target space in a field of view of the eye over an eye tracking period includes performing a plurality of scans of the eye with infrared light within the eye tracking period. Each scan includes generating infrared light signals over a scan period and projecting the infrared light signals from a plurality of virtual light projectors to the eye to form a plurality of illumination areas on the eye. Reflections of the infrared light signals from the eye are detected for each scan. The gaze position of the eye in the target space is determined from the detected reflections of the infrared light signals for each scan.

  • Patent number: 11093218
Abstract: An intermediate representation of a workflow of one or more modules may be generated to decouple language implementations of the one or more modules. In response to receiving a workflow of one or more modules, the workflow may be analyzed to determine an optimal implementation language for each of the one or more modules to thereby reduce effects of data marshalling. An intermediate representation of the workflow that is configured to decouple any implementation languages associated with the one or more modules may be generated. To allow for decoupling, the intermediate representation may be written in a declarative language. The generated intermediate representation may then be compiled to generate an executable program that corresponds to the workflow and is implemented in the determined optimal language for each of the one or more modules.

  • Patent number: 11091109
Abstract: A vehicle comprises: a knee bolster; a movable obstruction disposed forward of the knee bolster; a seating assembly rearward of the knee bolster; a sensor that generates output; and a controller in communication with the sensor that (a) determines the attribute of the passenger from the output that the sensor generates, and (b) either (i) causes the movable obstruction to obstruct forward movement of the knee bolster based on the determined attribute of the passenger, or (ii) causes the movable obstruction not to obstruct the forward movement of the knee bolster based on the determined attribute of the passenger. The attribute of the passenger can be the weight of the passenger. The controller can cause the movable obstruction to obstruct forward movement of the knee bolster because the weight of the passenger is greater than a predetermined threshold weight.

  • Patent number: 11090258
Abstract: Embodiments of a finishing powder of this disclosure include a rice powder and an iron-oxide pigment, with no talc or parabens, that eliminates transfer of wet or sticky spray tan bronzer to clothing, hands, or between opposing folds or creases of skin. The finishing powder may be applied full body—for example 85% to 95% of total body surface area—by way of a brush, being too thick in its consistency to spray. The powder may be blown from the brush to the body. An amount of the mixture applied to a user may be in a range ¾ teaspoon to 2¼ teaspoon. The powder immediately coats the spray tanning solution and remains dry to the touch. Because of its thicker consistency, the powder does not dissipate and remains on the skin up to 24 hours or until the user showers.

  • Patent number: 11095890
Abstract: A memory-efficient filtering approach is used to code images and video. A buffer having a fixed size based on a size of processing units to use for filtering a video frame is allocated. For each of the processing units, pre-filtered pixel values are copied from a respective region of the video frame to the buffer based on a writing point for the video frame and an offset applied to the writing point, filtering is performed against the pre-filtered pixel values from the buffer to produce filtered pixel values, and the filtered pixel values are written to the video frame based on the writing point and the offset. The filtering may be performed using a loop restoration tool, such as where the pre-filtered pixel values are output from a constrained directional enhancement filter (CDEF) tool. Alternatively, the filtering may be performed using the CDEF tool or another coding tool.

  • Patent number: 11090574
Abstract: The present disclosure relates generally to an electromagnetic animated figure control system. More specifically, the present disclosure relates to techniques for actuating a figure, such as a plush toy, using addressable control nodes (e.g., electromagnetic coils) of an electromagnetic array. For example, an amusement park may include a control surface implemented to include the electromagnetic array. Further, an animated figure may include magnets in one or more components. Accordingly, while the animated figure may lack a power source, the animated figure may be controlled (e.g., actuated) via a controlled magnetic interaction between the control surface and the magnets.
