Abstract: A chemical pump assembly useful for negative pressure therapy includes a chemical pump housing having an inner chamber, a reactor located within the inner chamber, an opening provided in the chemical pump housing, a first pull tab which extends from the inner chamber to ambient through the opening, and a removable layer connected to the first pull tab. The reactor is configured to react with a selected gas found in air so as to consume the selected gas when exposed to air in the inner chamber. The removable layer shields the reactor from air in the inner chamber atmosphere until the removable layer is removed.

Abstract: A carton (90) for packaging one or more articles. The carton comprises a plurality of wall forming a tubular structure. The plurality of walls include a top wall (12), first side wall (14) hinged to the top wall by a first hinged connection (13) and a second side wall (18) hinged to the top wall by a second hinged connection. The carton comprises a handle structure comprising a handle aperture (A2) struck at least in part from the top wall and defining in part a handle strap (40a). The handle aperture comprises a first edge (E1) defining in part a grip portion of the handle strap and providing a load-bearing edge; and a second edge (E2) opposing the first edge, the second edge being a non-load-bearing edge. A reinforcing member (S) reinforces the load-bearing edge of the handle aperture.

Abstract: Disclosed herein are heterocyclic compounds that inhibit the binding of menin and MLL or MLL fusion proteins. Also described are specific irreversible inhibitors of menin-MLL interaction. Also disclosed are pharmaceutical compositions that include the compounds. Methods of using the menin-MLL irreversible inhibitors are disclosed, alone or in combination with other therapeutic agents, for the treatment of autoimmune diseases or conditions, heteroimmune diseases or conditions, cancer, including lymphoma, leukemia and other diseases or conditions dependent on menin-MLL inter-action; or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof.

Abstract: A system for laser ophthalmic surgery includes: a single laser source, under the operative control of a controller, configured to alternatively deliver a first treatment laser beam and a second treatment laser beam. The first treatment laser beam has a pulse energy of 10 to 500 ?J. The second pulsed laser beam has a second pulse energy of about 0.1 to 10 ?J, lower than the first treatment laser beam. An optical system focuses the first treatment laser beam to a first focal spot and directs the first focal spot in a first treatment pattern into a first intraocular target. The optical system also focuses the second treatment laser beam to a second focal spot and direct the second focal spot in a second treatment pattern into a second intraocular target. The first intraocular target and second intraocular target are different.

Abstract: The present invention discloses improvements to mechanical and electro-mechanical force simulators for aircraft pilot controllers, and particularly foot-actuated controllers. In particular, the invention replaces conventional foot-actuated, pilot controller systems—namely, those that employ multiple, discrete, motion control subsystems to control the various force simulation and trim functions used in modern aircraft to assist pilot control of a given axis of flight—with a single motion control system. The invention accomplishes this in part by eliminating the force-feel spring used in conventional, federated, foot-actuated, motor-coupled pilot controllers.

Abstract: An aspect includes providing a scratchpad memory to at least one persistent storage device of a plurality of persistent storage devices in a storage array. The scratchpad memory includes non-volatile storage. An aspect also includes designating the scratchpad memory for storing data corresponding to write operations implemented by a storage system, apportioning the scratchpad memory among each storage controller of a plurality of storage controllers in the storage system, and receiving, at the scratchpad memory, a write request from one of the storage controllers. An aspect further includes writing data of the write request to a location in the scratchpad memory based on the apportioning and corresponding to the one of the storage controllers.

Abstract: A focusing lens is configured to focus display light for an eye of a user. A display is configured to emit the display light having an illumination profile that increases in brightness as a distance from a middle of the display increases. The focusing lens is configured to receive the display light and focus the display light as image light that has a brightness profile that has substantially uniform brightness across the image.

Abstract: A system includes a headset to capture sound and a visual signal of a local area including one or more sound sources. The system determines a strength of the audio signal and a portion of the visual signal associated with the audio signal, compares the strengths, selects the weaker signal, and augments the weaker signal. The headset accordingly presents augmented audio-visual content to a user, thereby enhancing the user's perception of the weak signal.

Abstract: A sense amplifier architecture is presented that can reduce sensing times by being able to sense smaller voltage swings between an ON memory cell and an OFF memory cell. The sense amplifier includes a sensing capacitor that, on one side, is connectable to multiple bit lines and, on the other side, to a main sense amplifier section. The main section includes a latch formed of a pair of inverters that has an input connected to the capacitor and an output that is connected to the other side of the capacitor by a third inverter. To pre-charge the latch, the input and output nodes are shorted and then the capacitor is connected to discharge the capacitor through a selected memory cell based on whether it is ON or OFF. A programming data latch for each bit line can bias the bit line to either a program enable or program inhibit level.

Abstract: An optical quantum state converter comprises an optical fiber input port configured to receive an optical signal comprising an optical quantum state at a first wavelength from an optical source. An optical combiner having a first input is coupled to the optical fiber input port. An optical pump source having an output that is coupled to a second input of the optical combiner provides an optical pump signal at a pump signal wavelength to a second input of the combiner. A nonlinear optical waveguide having an input that is coupled to an output of the optical combiner converts the optical quantum state at the first wavelength to an optical quantum state at a second wavelength determined by the optical pump signal.

Abstract: A camera module comprising a polymer composition that includes a polymer matrix containing a liquid crystalline polymer and a mineral filler is provided. The liquid crystalline polymer contains repeating units derived from naphthenic hydroxycarboxylic and/or dicarboxylic acids in an amount of about 10 mol. % or more of the polymer. Further, the polymer composition exhibits a melt viscosity of from about 30 to about 400 Pa-s, as determined at a shear rate of 400 seconds?1 and at a temperature 15° C. higher than the melting temperature of the composition in accordance with ISO Test No. 11443:2005.

Abstract: Systems and method for active control of stationary vortices for aerodynamic structures are disclosed herein. In one embodiment, a method for active control of vortices over a solid surface includes: generating vortices proximate to the solid surface; sensing locations of vortices by printed skin sensors; and maintaining the vortices in their fixed spanwise positions with respect to the solid surface by actuation of printed skin actuators.

Abstract: A valve includes a valve body forming a channel defining a fluid flow path extending from an inlet port to an outlet port of the valve body via a gallery disposed therebetween, an opening disposed in communication with the gallery, a valve assembly at least partially disposed through the opening and in the gallery, and a set pin having a central longitudinal axis. A valve disc of the valve assembly moves between a first position spaced from a valve seat of the valve body and a second position in contact with the valve seat. The set pin is coupled to and at least partly supported by the valve assembly to maintain the valve assembly in the first position. The fluid flow path allows a fluid to flow through the valve body in a first direction and a second direction opposite the first direction. The set pin is adapted to disengage a portion of the valve assembly when contacted by a fluid traversing the fluid flow path in the second direction, allowing the valve disc to move to the second position.

In various implementations, a preserve write process identifies one or more regions of the solid-state memory components that qualify to be relocated prior to a data storage device entering a data retention state. Prior to the data retention state, the process changes one or more values, of one or more write settings, to one or more new values. With the write settings changed to the one or more new values, the process relocates data from the one or more regions to one or more new regions. After having relocated the data, the process returns the one or more new values, of the one or more write settings, to one or more earlier values.

The visor system may be configured to define an open gap from a top edge of the visor to the outer shell when the left and right visor supports are supporting the visor on the left and right sides of the protective sport helmet.
