Abstract: A storage system in one embodiment comprises a plurality of storage devices and a storage controller. The storage controller is configured to receive a delete instruction for a storage volume, and responsive to receipt of the delete instruction, to suspend any further changes to address metadata for the storage volume, to transfer the address metadata for the storage volume to persistent storage, and to delete the storage volume while also at least temporarily maintaining its data pages. The storage controller subsequently receives an undelete instruction for the deleted storage volume, and responsive to receipt of the undelete instruction, retrieves the address metadata from persistent storage and recovers the storage volume utilizing the address metadata. An expiration timer may be started in conjunction with the deletion of the storage volume, and responsive to the undelete instruction being received after a specified expiration time of the expiration timer, the undelete instruction is rejected.

  • Patent number: 11085998
Abstract: A photonic edge coupler includes a slab waveguide and a ridge waveguide. The ridge waveguide includes a silicon wire waveguide, which includes a tapered portion. A first end of the slab waveguide is joined to the ridge waveguide at a junction, and a second end of the slab waveguide forms a first facet. The ridge waveguide defines a longitudinal axis that is associated with a direction of a light signal therein. The first facet is angled at less than 90 degrees relative to the longitudinal axis associated with the direction of the light signal therein. The first facet is disposed opposite to a laser facet associated with a laser waveguide. The longitudinal axis of the ridge waveguide defines a first center point, and the laser facet and the associated laser waveguide define a second center point. • Patent number: 11086794
Abstract: A technique for managing a deduplication digest cache (DDC) includes assigning each digest entry of the DDC to one of multiple entry lists, scoring the entry lists based at least in part on the deduplicability of the data represented by the digest entries in the entry lists, and selecting for eviction from the DDC entries assigned to the lowest-scoring entry list. In this manner, entries assigned to entry lists that perform more poorly in terms of deduplicability tend to be evicted more quickly than entries assigned to entry lists that perform better.
