Abstract: A low-profile universal passive protector for an IV catheter includes a connector having a tubular body and a pair of arms pivotally connected thereto. The tubular body defines an end face and the connector includes a cavity extending from the end face. An elongate sheath is snap engageable to the tubular body. A spring is insertable within the connector cavity to extend between at least one of the pair of arms and the elongate sheath when received within the cavity. A slider is moveably coupled to the sheath. The slider includes a flashback chamber formed therein. A hypodermic needle is connected to the slider and is in fluid communication with the flashback chamber. The slider is moveable along the sheath between a first position and a second position, with the hypodermic needle being drawn into the sheath as the slider moves from the first position toward the second position.

Abstract: A seat back assembly for a passenger seat, such as but not limited to an aircraft passenger seat, includes a seat back and a backrest assembly. The backrest assembly includes a backrest and a headrest. The backrest is movable relative to the seat back between a stowed position and a deployed position. The headrest is supported on the backrest and is movable relative to the backrest between a stowed position and a deployed position.
Abstract: Some embodiments generate prompts and submit them in queries to a language model trained on code to perform automated program repair. Some embodiments fix syntactic mistakes and semantic mistakes by combining multimodal prompts, iterative querying, test-case-based selection of few-shots, and program chunking. In some cases, edit distance is minimized between an initial flawed program and the automatically created improved version of that program. The initial flawed program is obtained from a programming student, or from a source code generator.

Abstract: A method for recognizing an object in a video stream may include receiving a video stream comprising a plurality of video frames from a video source. The method may also select at least one video frame from the video frames according to a frame selection rate. The method may also partition the selected video frame into a first plurality of image blocks, and recognize, out of the first plurality of image blocks, a second plurality of image blocks which comprise an image of an object, the recognition being based on an image recognition parameter determined by a machine-learning algorithm. The method may also determine that at least one of the second plurality of image blocks corresponds to the object based on a likelihood metric, the likelihood metric being determined by the processor based on at least the frame selection rate, and display, on a display, information identifying the object.
Abstract: A method includes capturing, by a sensor on an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), an image of a delivery location. The method also includes determining, based on the image of the delivery location, a segmentation image. The segmentation image segments the delivery location into a plurality of pixel areas with corresponding semantic classifications. The method additionally includes determining, based on the segmentation image, a percentage of obstacle pixels within a surrounding area of a delivery point at the delivery location, wherein each obstacle pixel has a semantic classification indicative of an obstacle in the delivery location. The method further includes based on the percentage of obstacle pixels being above a threshold percentage, aborting a delivery process of the UAV.

Abstract: An improved method and apparatus for removing acid gases and other impurities from raw biogas streams, such as biogas from landfills or biogas from controlled anaerobic digestion, is disclosed. The method provides efficient generation of high-purity renewable natural gas from raw biogas. The biogas is treated in a multi-stage membrane system integrated with compression equipment. The membrane separation stages are integrated with high-pressure and low-pressure compressors with the low-pressure compressor operating in a defined pressure range. The combined system provides for efficient contaminant removal from raw biogas to generate high-purity methane products with reduced membrane area and compression energy consumption.
Abstract: Disclosed herein is an application that intelligently places a user interface (UI) element on content of another application such that the UI element appears to be integrated and coordinated with the content of the other application and not merely overlaid on the webpage. The intelligent placement ensures that the UI element neither obstructs the view of pertinent content displayed via the other application nor interferes with the functionality of the other application. Moreover, the intelligent placement ensures that the UI element is completely visible to a user.

Abstract: A knitted net carrier includes a plurality of strands of high tenacity polyester yarn knitted together in the form of a pattern. The netting may be substantially in the shape of a tube having a length, a first end, and a second end. The first end and the second end may be fastened shut.
Abstract: A combustor for a gas turbine system includes a combustion liner including a primary combustion zone and a secondary combustion zone. The combustor body is additively manufactured and made of a first material. The combustor also includes axial fuel stage (AFS) immersed injectors extending radially into the combustion liner in the secondary combustion zone. Each AFS immersed injector extends through an opening in the combustion liner and is additively manufactured with a second material different than the first material. A coupler fixes each AFS immersed injector in a respective opening in the combustion liner. The additive manufacturing results in as much as a 70% reduction in parts within a given combustor and allows use of high temperature and high oxidation tolerant, hot gas path (HGP) materials for the AFS immersed injectors.
Abstract: A gasoline powered engine configured to operate in a substantially horizontal orientation and to be stored in a generally vertical orientation without leaking of fluid contained in the gasoline powered engine may include an oil sump and a first oil drain port extending in a first direction through a first wall of the sump. The first wall forms a bottom of the sump when the engine is in the vertical orientation.
Abstract: A system including a biopsy needle device having a cannula with a distal end configured to sever a tissue sample, and a trocar disposed within the cannula having a notch configured to retain a tissue sample, wherein at least one of the cannula and the trocar is divided into at least two segments including different echogenic coatings, an ultrasound probe, and a processor configured and arranged to collect images from the ultrasound probe and color code the at least two segments based on at least one characteristic relating to different echogenic coatings, surface textures, surface contours and dimensions of the biopsy device.
Abstract: The present technology relates to processes, mixtures and intermediates useful for making picolinamide fungicides. The picolinamide compounds are prepared by processes that include coupling together a 4-methoxy-3-acyloxypicolinic acid with key 2-amino-L-alaninate esters derived from substituted 2-phenylethanols.

Abstract: An automobile having a cargo space, a rear door opening for accessing the cargo space and a door pillar which delimits the rear door opening. The vehicle has a rack which in a stowed state is arranged entirely in the cargo space and is at least partially concealed by the door pillar as viewed from outside the automobile in the direction of the vehicle longitudinal axis of the automobile, and in a deployed state is arranged at least partially outside the cargo space. The vehicle has a transfer mechanism to transfer the rack between the stowed state and the deployed state via the rear door opening, wherein the transfer mechanism is configured such that, during a transfer of the rack from the stowed state into the deployed state, the rack moves inward in the direction of the vehicle transverse axis of the automobile.
