Abstract: An automated method for applying specific geometric constraints to a starter file and considering external specifications outside of fit to achieve an optimized, restorative joint brace or orthotic device. External specifications may include indications of the patient, biometric data, data from prescribing doctors, X-ray data, MRI data, joint geometry to restore optimized function, and envelope of motion. After the fitting process, the starter file undergoes a process of exact commands in order to finish and/or add additional features. With a vertical integration from scanning an object to producing the custom fitted device, the product can be manufactured at scale more rapidly and at lower cost, improving access to superior devices at a reasonable price to the consumer.

Abstract: Devices and methods for treating tissue with microwave energy used in applications such as destroying a soft tissue by microwave ablation and/or creating point, line, area or volumetric lesions. Various embodiments of flexible, low-profile devices are also disclosed where such device can be inserted non-invasively or minimally invasively near or into the target tissue such as cardiac tissue. The devices disclosed herein comprise antennas wherein the field profile generated by an antenna is tailored and optimized for a particular clinical application. The antennas use unique properties of microwaves such as interaction of a microwave field with one or more conductive or non-conductive shaping elements to shape or redistribute the microwave field.

Abstract: A medication dispensing system, comprising one or more medication panels, each having a plurality of docking ports located at a vertical displacement one from another. The medication dispensing system comprises: a plurality of medication container assemblies for storing medication, coupled to the plurality of docking ports; one or more actuators; a gripping assembly, movable vertically by the one or more actuators to a proximate one or more of the medication container assemblies for picking a medication dosage out of the one or more of the medication container assemblies; and a receptacle carrier having a receptacle mount for holding one or more medication receptacles configured to receive the medication dosage.

Abstract: The present invention relates to composition comprising a bioactive fractions (ingredients) derived from fruit juice of an Apple (Pyrus malus) produced by processing the fresh fruit of apple under conditions effective to yield a bioactive fraction that is substantially free of protein and patulin. The present invention also relates to compositions having antioxidant and free radical scavenging properties and suitable for topical applications, oral applications and functional drink applications.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for optimizing selection of data cap limited service plans. A model is created in order to predict bandwidth usage by existing subscribers in a satellite communication system. The model is trained with usage data for all subscribers of the satellite communication system over a predetermined time interval, and used to analyze usage patterns of each subscriber. Bandwidth usage is predicted for each subscriber relative to an existing service plan based, at least one recommendation is generated for optimizing use of bandwidth in the satellite communication system based on the analysis and predicted bandwidth usage.

Abstract: Methods for treating an industrial byproduct, such as spent, granular, activated carbon, dredge spoils, or contaminated soils involve integrated steps to clean, concentrate, separate and/or otherwise collect hazardous and/or desired materials from such industrial byproducts. The cleaned, concentrated, separated, or collected materials may involve sufficient quantities to be useful to subsequent processors, raw materials, additives, and the like. Other treatment methods involve retaining the clean material stream at sufficient temperatures for sufficient time to separate and concentrate desired material for recovery therefrom, such as precious metals and rare earth elements.

Abstract: The subject disclosure provides a draper belt assembly for an agricultural harvester header that includes a draper belt and a zipper assembly along a length of the draper belt. The zipper assembly includes a first zipper track extending at a non-perpendicular angle from a fore end of a leading edge of the draper belt, a second zipper track complementary to the first zipper track extending at a second non-perpendicular angle from the fore end of a trailing edge of the draper belt, and a slider releasably connectable to the first zipper track and the second zipper track.

Abstract: This invention relates to a power recovery process in waste steam/CO2 reformers in which a waste stream can be made to release energy without having to burn the waste or the syngas. This invention in some embodiments does not make use of fuel cells as a component but makes use of exothermic chemical reactors using syngas to produce heat, such as Fischer-Tropsch synthesis. It also relates to control or elimination of the emissions of greenhouse gases in the power recovery process of this invention with the goal of producing energy in the future carbonless world economy.

The first and second inductive coils are each configured to receive a first signal from an electromagnetic field and generate respective first and second output voltages. Each of the first inductive coil and the second inductive coil are configured to inductively couple to the electromagnetic field. A first circuit element is configured to receive the first output voltage and generate a first response at a first power level of the first output voltage. A second circuit element is configured to receive the second output voltage and transition to an active state to perform one or more functions when the second output voltage exceeds a second power level. The first and second power levels are related to movement of the first and second inductive coils through the electromagnetic field.

Abstract: Creating snapshot data sets for a plurality of logical devices of a storage system includes marking an initial set of the logical devices for a snapshot in response to each of the initial set of logical devices having been modified since obtaining a previous snapshot data set, suspending I/O operations, marking an additional set of the logical devices for a snapshot in response to each of the additional set of logical devices having been modified prior to suspending I/O, performing a snapshot of the logical devices in the initial set of logical devices and in the additional set of logical devices, and resuming I/O operations. Pointers to snapshots for the snapshot data set may be placed in a table that includes a plurality of entries for a plurality of snapshot data sets. None of the additional set of logical devices may be part of the initial set of logical devices.

Abstract: A portable photo studio system includes a portable photo studio and an electronic device such as a camera-enabled smartphone. The photo studio apparatus is configured to mount the electronic device for capturing images of a subject in the portable photo studio without a photographer. The electronic device not only captures images of the subject but also guides an image capture process by providing instructions to the subject for orienting their body. The electronic device is then used to transmit the images to an external computer system for processing.

Abstract: An imaging device may include an image sensor that generates frames of image data in response to incident light with an array of image pixels, and processing circuitry that processes the image data. The processing circuitry may include a transformation circuit that applies transforms to subsampled frames of image data that are generated using a subset of the image pixels to produce transform values, and a comparator circuit that compares the transform values. The processing circuitry may determine that motion has occurred between sequential frames if a difference between a first transform value corresponding to a first image frame and a second transform value corresponding to a second image frame exceeds a threshold value. In response to determining that motion has occurred, the image sensor may generate full-frame image data using all of the pixels of the array of image pixels.

Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure provide a method and an apparatus including processing circuitry for video decoding. The processing circuitry decodes, from a coded video bitstream, a first syntax element indicating whether a first component in the coded video bitstream is coded based on a second component in the coded video bitstream. The processing circuitry determines whether to decode one or more second syntax elements for a chroma related coding tool based on the first syntax element. The chroma related coding tool is a luma mapping with chroma scaling coding tool or a cross-component adaptive loop filter. The one or more second syntax elements are decoded when the first syntax element indicates that the first component is coded based on the second component. The one or more second syntax elements are not decoded when the first syntax element indicates that the first component is not coded based on the second component.

Abstract: A system and method provide a software platform and enable the configuration of the software platform for communications on a per service basis. In one example, the software platform includes a core that interacts with an operating system on a device on which the core is nm and is configured to nm services on the device. Multiple blocks are provided, with each block based on a base block class and customized with task specific processing functionality that can be executed only through one of the plurality of services. Each service is based on a base service class and is configured to run at least some of the blocks within a mini runtime environment provided by the service in order to use the blocks' task specific processing functionality. Each service is individually configured with an input block and an output block that define how the service receives and sends information, respectively.

For example, a system may (a) accept information defining at least one ad spot associated with at least one instance of an video document, (b) accept offers to have advertisements served in the ad spot(s), and (c) arbitrate among competing advertisements, using at least the offers, to determine at least one advertisement to be served in that ad spot(s). As another example, a system may (a) accept relevance information for an advertisement, (b) determine at least one video document using the accepted relevance information, (c) present information about the video document(s) to an advertiser associated with the advertisement, and (d) accept, from the advertiser, an offer to have its advertisement served with at least one of the video document(s) accepted.

Abstract: A coupler system for connecting elongate, horizontally disposed rods to vertical supports includes a top-cap component for attaching to the top of a vertical support, and including a body with plural cavities formed therein, and at least one ball-cap component for attaching to an end of a rod, and including a ball region that is constructed to fit within one of the plural cavities of the top-cap component. The body may be formed with four of the plural cavities, with each of them having beveled edges. The ball-cap components may include a ball region, a neck region, and an angled region located adjacent the neck region and away from the ball region. The top-cap and ball-cap components may include insertion regions with opposing sets of ribs. The coupler system may further include a cover component, and the body may be formed with a central hole for receiving a fastener that secures the cover component to the top-cap component.
