Abstract: A method for improving the effective signal-to-noise ratio (“SNR”) of an analog to digital converter (“ADC”) for active loudspeakers uses the two available channels of a stereo ADC to separately process the low- and high-frequency components of an audio signal. Because the power spectral density of music approximates a pink noise spectrum, the high-frequency component of the signal has peak levels low enough to avoid exceeding the maximum ADC input level. The audio signal is analog high-pass filtered and the resulting high-frequency signal component is sent directly to a first ADC channel without attenuation. The remaining low-frequency component is attenuated and sent to a second ADC channel. The digital signals are processed, converted back to analog, amplified, and reproduced by loudspeaker drivers. Noise and distortion at low frequencies is less audible than higher frequencies, so the improved SNR at higher frequencies yields a significant practical improvement in audio fidelity.
Abstract: Implementations of semiconductor packages may include: a substrate having one or more traces on a first side and one or more traces on a second side of the substrate. The substrate may be rigid. The packages may include at least one die mechanically and electrically coupled to the first side of the substrate. The die may be a high voltage die. The package may include one or more traces along one or more edges of the substrate. The one or more traces along the one or more edges of the substrate provide electrical connectivity between the one or more traces on the first side of the substrate and the one or more traces on the second side of the substrate. The package may also include a molding compound encapsulating at least the first and the one or more edges of the ceramic substrate.
Abstract: A vehicle exhaust system includes an injector assembly having a cone positioned adjacent to an injector mount and which extends from an upstream inlet end to a downstream outlet end. Engine exhaust gas and injected spray enter the inlet end of the cone to mix with each other prior to exiting the cone via the outlet end. The cone has a narrowing body portion located downstream of the inlet end to accelerate flow during mixing. A vehicle exhaust component assembly comprising a mixer with the injector assembly and a method for injecting a fluid into an exhaust component using the injector assembly are also disclosed.

Abstract: A method is described that includes sputtering multiple layers on a back surface of the photovoltaic structure, the photovoltaic structure being made of at least one group III-V semiconductor material, and evaporating, over the multiple layers, one or more additional layers including a metal layer, the back metal structure being formed by the multiple layers and the additional layers. A photovoltaic device is also described that includes a back metal structure disposed over a back surface of a photovoltaic structure made of a group III-V semiconductor material, the back metal structure including one or more evaporated layers disposed over multiple sputtered layers, the one or more evaporated layers including a metal layer. By allowing evaporation along with sputtering, tool size and costs can be reduced, including minimizing a number of vacuum breaks. Moreover, good yield and reliability, such as reducing dark line defects (DLDs), can also be achieved.
