Abstract: A protective case for a portable mobile device is disclosed. The protective case comprises a shell that defines a compartment for receiving and retaining a mobile device, a cover panel, and a connector component. The shell has a main panel that includes an aperture and a subpanel that is hinged at a first side within the aperture and reversibly attached to the aperture via mechanical protrusions or detents at a second side so that it can rotatably attach and detach, or snap, into and out of the main panel. The hinge may be formed by one or more flexible layers overlaid on the shell or via mechanical swivel joint such as a pin and socket connection. A connector portion connects the cover panel to the shell and forms a flexible spine between the cover panel and the shell. The connector portion is comprised of opposing inner and outer layers that are overlaid over the internal and external facing surfaces of the shell and cover panel.

Abstract: The present application pertains to methods for making metal oxides and/or citric acid. In one embodiment, the application pertains to a process for producing calcium oxide, magnesium oxide, or both from a material comprising calcium and magnesium. The process may include reacting a material comprising calcium carbonate and magnesium carbonate. Separating, concentrating, and calcining may lead to the production of oxides such as calcium oxide or magnesium oxide. In other embodiments the application pertains to methods for producing an alkaline-earth oxide and a carboxylic acid from an alkaline earth cation—carboxylic acid anion salt. Such processes may include, for example, reacting an alkaline-earth cation—carboxylic acid anion salt with aqueous sulfur dioxide to produce aqueous alkaline-earth—bisulfite and aqueous carboxylic acid solution. Other useful steps may include desorbing, separating, and/or calcining.

Abstract: An electrical computer system processing architecture for providing an indication of activity in the electrical computer system, the electrical computer system processing architecture comprising a plurality of client computers connected to at least one server by a computer network. Each of the client computers is configured to provide requests to the at least one server. The or each server comprises a store for storing requests provided by the plurality of client computers. The or each server is configured to match complementary requests from the plurality of client computers stored in the store. Following the matching of complementary requests, the or each server counts unmatched requests corresponding to one or other of the complementary requests in the store, and outputs the counted number of unmatched requests to provide the indication of activity in the computer system.

Abstract: A remotely controllable antenna mount for use with a wireless telecommunication antenna provides mechanical azimuth and tilt adjustment using AISG compatible motor control units and AISG control and monitoring systems to remotely adjust the physical orientation of the antenna. The mount control units are serially interconnected with AISG antenna control units which adjust electronic tilt mechanisms within the antenna itself. An AISG compatible mount azimuth control unit drives rotatable movement of the antenna through a range of azimuth angle positions. The antenna mount further includes a mechanical downtilt assembly interconnected between the antenna interface and the antenna. An AISG compatible mount tilt control unit drives linear movement of an actuator assembly and corresponding pivoting of the antenna through a range of tilt angle positions.

Abstract: Systems and methods of forming electrospun structures including pharmaceuticals are disclosed. An electrospun structure can include one or more polymers electrospun from a polymer solution comprising a pharmaceutical such that the pharmaceutical is dispersed throughout the one or more electrospun polymers. The pharmaceutical can include a cannabinoid, a phytocannabinoid, a terpene produced by a Cannabis plant, or a combination thereof. The one or more electrospun polymer are configured to degrade over a predetermined time period to deliver the pharmaceutical over the predetermined time period.

Abstract: This document describes techniques and apparatuses for optimizing a cellular network using machine learning. In particular, a resource control module of a user equipment (UE) 110 selects a particular disconnected state 214 based on a power status of the UE 110. If the power status is sufficient to support an inactive state 216, the UE 110 transitions to the inactive state 216 to enable a connection with a base station 120 to be quickly resumed. Alternatively, if the power status is insufficient for the inactive state 216, the UE 110 transitions to the idle state 218 to conserve power. In some cases, the UE 110 dynamically switches between different disconnected states 214 responsive to changes in the power status. By determining a resource control state 210 based on the power status, the UE 110 balances communication responsiveness and power consumption to support mobile operation.

Abstract: Described herein are methods and systems for performing liquid-liquid extraction in bulk tankage. According to certain embodiments, the liquid-liquid extraction can occur in a bulk tank via a circulation loop, in which a solvent mixture is injected with the hydrocarbon ahead of mix valves on the circulation loop. According to other embodiments, a misting system is installed in the vapor or head space of bulk tankage. The misting system distributes small micro-drops of a solvent mixture so as to cause a uniform lay down over the entire top surface area of hydrocarbon. The solvent mixture migrates from the top surface of the hydrocarbon to the bottom of the bulk tank, reacting during migration to cause liquid-liquid extraction.

Abstract: A portable lactation station and method of use are disclosed. The portable lactation station may include a countertop, a base unit, and an adjustable counter component. The adjustable counter component may be configured to rest at least partially within the base unit when in an undeployed configuration. The adjustable counter component may be slidably connected to the base unit, and may be configured to open into a first deployed configuration and to slide into a second deployed configuration along the length of the base unit. The portable lactation station may include a sink and a faucet. The portable lactation station may also include a clean water source, an electric water pump, and a dirty water receptacle. The portable lactation unit may include integrated power and USB outlets on the surface of the primary body or adjustable counter surface component.

Abstract: A wireless communication device for use in a load control system for controlling one or more electrical loads may comprise a counterpoise, a first and second antennas, a RF communication circuit and a control circuit. The two antennas may be oriented differently and spaced apart from each other. For example, the first antenna may extend perpendicularly from the counterpoise while the second antenna extends in a plane substantially parallel to the counterpoise. The first antenna may extend from the counterpoise at a point substantially central to the counterpoise while the second antenna may extend along a perimeter of the counterpoise. The RF communication circuit may transmit wireless signals via the first and second antennas. The control circuit may cause the RF communication circuit to transmit a first wireless signal in a first time slot and a second wireless signal in a second time slot.

Abstract: A protective case for a mobile device having a multi-layered construction is disclosed herein. The multi layered construction includes three layers that are co-molded to one another. The construction is lightweight and low-profile, and also provides a high level of impact protection. The first layer generally forms the external back face surface of the case, the third layer generally forms the perimeter bumper of the case, and the second layer forms the internal liner and includes an elevated pattern of walls upon which the back face of the mobile device rests. The first layer is comprised of material that has a hardness greater than the other two layers. The third layer is comprised of a material that has a hardness that is greater than the hardness of the second layer. The layers are configured to interact with one another to distribute and absorb impact forces.

Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure describe optical phased array structures and devices in which hyperbolic phase envelopes are employed to create focusing and diverging emissions in one and two dimensions. Tuning the phase fronts moves focal point spot in depth and across the array. Grating emitters are also used to emit light upward (out of plane). Adjusting the period of the gratings along the light propagation direction results in focusing the light emitted from the gratings. Changes in the operating wavelengths employed moves the focal spot along the emitters.

The event-related media management system associates media content with contextual event-related data to associate the media content with the events and information about the events. The contextual event-related data can then be used to provide access to the media content, such as through relevant search results or by presenting the media content in organized displays for contextual browsing and navigation. In some embodiments the event-related media management system generates contextualized media content for contextual search, discovery, and advertising.

An apparatus includes processing circuitry that determines whether a part of a current block of a current picture in a coded video sequence is outside the current picture. The processing circuitry determines whether one of an allowed binary split indicator, an allowed ternary split indicator, and an allowed quaternary split indicator of the current block is true in response to the part of the current block being outside the current picture. The processing circuitry applies an implicit binary split to the current block in response to none of the allowed binary split indicator, the allowed ternary split indicator, and the allowed quaternary split indicator being true.

Abstract: The present disclosure discloses a system and a method. In an example implantation, the system and the method can generate, at a discriminator, a plurality of image patches from an image, determine a plurality of routing coefficients within a capsule network based on the plurality of image patches, generate a prediction indicating whether the image is synthetic or sourced from a real distribution based on the plurality of routing coefficients, and update one or more weights of a generator based on the prediction, wherein the generator is connected to the discriminator.

Abstract: A hydraulic fracturing system is disclosed as including a singular mobile platform of at least one mobile power unit (MPU) and at least one first switch gear that is configured to handle electric power from the MPU. The MPU is configured to generate voltage that matches the requirements of an electrical bus from the at least one switch gear such that a combined electrical current generated as a result of the generated voltage is provided to the electrical bus to the components of the hydraulic fracturing system. Further, the hydraulic fracturing system may include electrical fracturing equipment with at least one second switch gear to support the at least one first switch gear in handling electric power from the MPU. A datavan may be included in the system to control load shedding, load sharing, and power distribution for the electrical fracturing equipment comprising the at least one second switch gear.
