Abstract: An optical fiber connector module for coupling to a ferrule terminated to at least one fiber in a ribbon cable is provided. The optical fiber connector module may include a first connector body member for coupling to the ferrule, the first connector body member including at least one alignment component coupling section, at least one biasing component coupling section, and a first through-channel for the ribbon cable. The optical fiber connector module may include a second connector body member coupled to the first connector body member, the second connector body member including at least one biasing component coupling section, a second through-channel for the ribbon cable, and an open side spanning the length of the second connector body member providing access to the second through-channel for the ribbon cable.

Abstract: The present invention includes a method for tracking an unaccompanied traveler during an airline travel trip. The invention includes providing applications on mobile devices related to the unaccompanied traveler, the parent/guardian, and the agent in charge of the traveler. A band is also secured to the traveler with a scannable code and which links personal information to the applications. The applications allow for current destination and status updates, text communication sessions, and other features to help ensure the safe travel of the unaccompanied traveler.

Abstract: An apparatus includes a housing, a pin, a mechanism and a sensor. The housing is configured to receive a weld head. The pin is configured to move linearly relative to said housing. The mechanism is configured to convert a position of said pin into a displacement. The sensor is configured to generate a value representative of said position of said pin based on said displacement.

Abstract: A touch sensor system includes touch sensors, drive-sense circuits (DSCs), memory, and a processing module. A DSC drives a first signal via a single line coupling to a touch sensor and simultaneously senses, when present, a second signal that is uniquely associated with a user. The DSC processes the first signal and/or the second signal to generate a digital signal that is representative of an electrical characteristic of the touch sensor. The processing module executes operational instructions (stored in the memory) to process the digital signal to detect interaction of the user with the touch sensor and to determine whether the interaction of the user with the touch sensor compares favorably with authorization. When not authorized, the processing module aborts execution of operation(s) associated with the interaction of the user with the touch sensor. Alternatively, when authorized, the processing module facilitates execution of the operation(s).

Abstract: Disclosed herein are system, method and/or device embodiments for using a wireless mouthguard with pressure sensors for measuring bite compression forces generated by a bruxism patient during sleep. A system comprises a mouthguard and a microelectromechanical system (MEMS) coupled to a portion of the mouthguard covering an axial plane of a tooth. The MEMS comprises an antenna, a capacitive sensor, a microcontroller, and a power supply. The sensor generates sensor signals corresponding to a force generated by a mouthguard wearer's bite. The MEMS may then transmit data describing the wearer's bite force over a period of time to an external computing device for display and analysis.

Abstract: An assembly for a vehicle includes a steering wheel. The assembly includes an airbag inflatable to an inflated position. The airbag has a main chamber supported by the steering wheel. The main chamber in the inflated position has a rear panel facing the steering wheel, an impact panel opposite the rear panel, and an outermost periphery between the impact panel and the rear panel. The airbag includes an extension having a first end and a terminal end. The extension extends from the first end to the terminal end adjacent the rear panel of the main chamber. The first end extends from the outermost periphery and the rear panel and the terminal end is connected to the rear panel. The airbag has an inflation chamber extending from the main chamber to the terminal end through the first end of the extension.

Abstract: Presented are electrical conductor assemblies with vascular cooling systems, methods for making/using such assemblies, and vehicles equipped with such assemblies for transmitting power and coolant between electric devices. An electrical conductor assembly includes an outer sheath, an electrical conductor extending through the sheath, a coolant channel defined through the sheath, and an optional cable jacket encasing the electrical conductor. The outer sheath has a tubular body formed from an electrically insulating material. The electrical conductor has a solid cable body located within a conductor duct extending through the sheath. The coolant channel, which is coaxial with and thermally connected to the cable body, passes therethrough coolant fluid that cools the electrical conductor. The cable jacket may be formed from an electrically insulating material having a thermal conductivity and melting point higher than that of the sheath.

Abstract: A rail-to-rail potentiostat may require an offset current in order to support a bidirectional work electrode current at a work electrode. This offset current may improve measurements of the work electrode current made a dual-slope analog-to-digital converter, especially when the work electrode current is small, but can also lead to inaccuracies (e.g., due to a temperature coefficient) if it is not properly calibrated. Accordingly, bidirectional potentiostat is disclosed that can be configured in a normal configuration for measurement of a work electrode current or a calibration configuration for measurement (i.e., calibration) of an offset current. The reconfigurability allows calibrations to be taken as needed, on a schedule, or as specified by a user. The reconfigurability can also allow for maintaining a work electrode voltage and a work electrode current during calibration so that an electrochemical experiment using a cell coupled to the bidirectional potentiostat is unaffected by the calibration.

Abstract: There is disclosed a bone fixation device that can include a cage having an optional mesh portion. The bone fixation device can be configured to couple a leg portion to a foot portion of a user's body. In at least one embodiment, the device includes at least one cage having a plurality of struts forming cells. There can be an optional mesh portion having a pre-set porosity that can be either constant or variable in density. In at least one embodiment there can be a cage portion which is substantially spherical shaped. Alternatively, the device can be substantially egg shaped. In at least one embodiment there can be a central post hole for receiving a post. In another embodiment at least one plate or shaft can connect to the cage.

Abstract: A flushing system in a drill bit is disclosed. The drill bit includes a body that defines the flushing system. The flushing system includes an inlet to facilitate supply of pressurized fluids into the bore hole. A cutting surface of the drill bit is provided with a main opening that defines a main passageway in communication with the inlet. A peripheral surface of the drill bit is provided with a secondary opening that defines a secondary passageway in communication with the inlet. The secondary passageway is disposed at an angle from a horizontal reference plane. The horizontal reference plane is defined between the inlet and the origin of the main passageway and is perpendicular to a central longitudinal axis of the body of the drill bit. An origin of the secondary passageway is at a distance from the origin of main passageway.

Abstract: The technology described herein is directed to generating a video. In this regard, one or more computing devices may receive a set of encoded video feeds. The one or more computing devices may store video frames from each encoded video feed in the set of encoded video feeds. The one or more computing devices may composite two or more of the stored video frames into a single frame and render the single frame onto a video wall. In some instances, video frames may be transmitted to other computing devices.

Abstract: A baling machine includes a rotary drive-transferring driveline including a rotary input shaft that is connected to provide rotary drive as an input to a transmission; a flywheel shaft supporting a flywheel that is rotatably driven as an output of the transmission, the flywheel shaft connecting directly or indirectly to a plunger of the baling machine; and the transmission that is drive-transferringly interposed between the input shaft and the flywheel shaft. The transmission includes one or more clutches for selectively drivingly connecting the input shaft and the flywheel shaft one to the other inside the transmission and the flywheel shaft is free of clutches.

The device being adapted to applying a plurality of top-engaging carriers to a plurality of groups of articles simultaneously. The device comprises a metering base for facilitating arranging a plurality of articles into groups of articles and an applicator for pressing top-engaging carriers onto groups of articles. The metering base comprises a spacer structure for maintaining a predetermined space between each group of articles and at least a next adjacent group of articles; and a first aligning feature. The applicator comprises an applicator plate having a plurality of receiving cavities each for receiving a top of an article and a second aligning feature for engaging the first aligning feature for sliding movement with each other.

Abstract: A wireless device receives one or more radio resource control messages. The one or more radio resource control messages comprise configuration parameters of semi-persistent channel state information (CSI) reports for transmission via a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) of a first cell in a timing advance group. A downlink control information (DCI) indicating activation of semi-persistent CSI is received via PUSCH resources of the PUSCH of the first cell. In response to a time alignment timer of the timing advance group expiring, first PUSCH resources of the PUSCH resources are cleared. The first PUSCH resources occur after the time alignment timer expires.

Abstract: Computer implemented methods, according to various embodiments, comprise: (1) integrating a privacy management system with DLP tools; (2) using the DLP tools to identify sensitive information that is stored in computer memory outside of the context of the privacy management system; and (3) in response to the sensitive data being discovered by the DLP tool, displaying each area of sensitive data to a privacy officer (e.g., similar to pending transactions in a checking account that have not been reconciled). A designated privacy officer may then select a particular entry and either match it up (e.g., reconcile it) with an existing data flow or campaign in the privacy management system, or trigger a new privacy assessment to be done on the data to capture the related privacy attributes and data flow information.
