Abstract: Embodiments of the invention provide swallowable devices, preparations and methods for delivering drugs and other therapeutic agents within the GI tract. Some embodiments provide a swallowable device such as a capsule for delivering drugs into the intestinal wall or other GI lumen. The device comprises a capsule sized to be swallowed and pass through the intestinal tract. The capsule can include at least one guide tube, one or more tissue penetrating members positioned in the guide tube, a delivery member, an actuating mechanism and a release element. The release element degrades upon exposure to various conditions in the intestine so as to release and actuate the actuating mechanism. Embodiments of the invention are particularly useful for the delivery of drugs which are poorly absorbed, tolerated and/or degraded within the GI tract.

Abstract: Embodiments of systems and methods disclosed provide a hydraulic fracturing unit that includes a reciprocating plunger pump configured to pump a fracturing fluid and a powertrain configured to power the reciprocating plunger pump. The powertrain includes a prime mover and a drivetrain, the prime mover including a gas turbine engine. The hydraulic fracturing unit also includes auxiliary equipment configured to support operation of the hydraulic fracturing unit including the reciprocating plunger pump and the powertrain. A power system is configured to power the auxiliary equipment. The power system includes a power source and a power network. The power source is configured to generate power for the auxiliary equipment. The power network is coupled to the power source and the auxiliary equipment, and configured to deliver the power generated by the power source to the auxiliary equipment. Associated systems including a plurality of hydraulic fracturing units are also provided.

Abstract: A wearable device receives ticket information for an event and information indicating a quantity of funds allocated from an account, associated with a user of a user device, to the wearable device, and stores the ticket information and the information indicating the quantity of funds. The wearable device utilizes a wireless component to pair the wearable device and the user device, and provides, to the user device and via the wireless component, the ticket information and information indicating access privileges for the event. The wearable device generates a token for a PoS device for a charge incurred at the event during an offline transaction with the PoS device, and provides, via a NFC component, the token to the PoS device. The wearable device provides, to the user device and via the wireless component, information indicating that that the token was provided to the PoS device.

Abstract: A system and method for intent-based active callback management, utilizing a cloud callback system comprising at least a profile manager, callback manager, interaction manager, media server, and environment analyzer, allowing users to call businesses, agents in contact centers, or other users who are connected to a cloud callback system, and, failing to connect to the individual they called, allow for an automatic callback object to be created, whereby the two users may be automatically called and bridged together at a time when both users are available.

Abstract: A system includes a first server and a second server. The second server receives a value from a first device, possibly via the first server, and stores the value. In response to a request from a second device, the second server then determines the value and sends the value to the second device. In this fashion, verification can be made that the first device is in communications with the first server.

Abstract: When routing light on photonic integrated circuit (PIC) chips optical back-reflection and scattering can be highly detrimental to the desired application. Unused ports of optical devices, such as MMI, DC, Y-junction, PD, etc. are a cause for back-reflection and scattering, whereby the scattered light could get picked up by adjacent components, e.g. photodetectors. Management of stray light on the PIC is needed to prevent the undesired coupling between various components and to reduce noise. A dump taper may be used to guide and scatter stray light away from sensitive components or fully absorb the light while maintaining very low reflection from the taper. A doped dump taper may be used to passively absorb light reaching the unused port, thereby eliminating unwanted reflection and scattering. Alternatively, an undoped taper may be used to scatter light away from sensitive components while maintaining very low back-reflection.

Abstract: An application platform configurable for processing a plurality of retail-branded credit cards is provided. Embodiments include a configurable front end comprising a graphical user interface layer that is configurable to a specific one of a plurality of retail-branded credit cards, a backend layer comprising credit card functionality for directly performing credit card transactions associated with a specific one of the plurality of retail-branded credit cards and a location service coupled with said front end and coupled with said backend for determining location information associated with a user of said specific one of said plurality of retail-branded credit cards.

Abstract: A novel soybean variety, designated 5PQYD12 is provided. Also provided are the seeds of soybean variety 5PQYD12, cells from soybean variety 5PQYD12, plants of soybean 5PQYD12, and plant parts of soybean variety 5PQYD12. Methods provided include producing a soybean plant by crossing soybean variety 5PQYD12 with another soybean plant, methods for introgressing a transgenic trait, a mutant trait, and/or a native trait into soybean variety 5PQYD12, methods for producing other soybean varieties or plant parts derived from soybean variety 5PQYD12, and methods of characterizing soybean variety 5PQYD12. Soybean seed, cells, plants, germplasm, breeding lines, varieties, and plant parts produced by these methods and/or derived from soybean variety 5PQYD12 are further provided.

Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for injector correction learned while a direct injector delivers fuel as a group of fuel injections per cylinder event. The correction is learned using a pressure based injector balancing approach while relies on a sensed pressure drop across the group of fuel injections. Errors for individual pulses of the group of injections is learned as a function of inter-injection spacing and individual pulse-width commands.

Abstract: Copper electroplating baths containing primary alcohol alkoxylate block copolymers and ethylene oxide/propylene oxide random copolymers having specific HLB ranges are suitable for filling vias with copper, where such copper deposits are substantially void-free and substantially free of surface defects.

Abstract: A system includes a multi-process application that runs on primary hosts and is checkpointed by a checkpointer comprised of a kernel-mode checkpointer module and one or more user-space interceptors providing at least one of barrier synchronization, checkpointing thread, resource flushing, and an application virtualization space. Checkpoints may be written to storage and the application restored from said stored checkpoint at a later time. Checkpointing may be incremental using Page Table Entry (PTE) pages and Virtual Memory Areas (VMA) information. Checkpointing is transparent to the application and requires no modification to the application, operating system, networking stack or libraries. In an alternate embodiment the kernel-mode checkpointer is built into the kernel.

Abstract: A mounting arrangement includes a first bracket, a second bracket including a slot, and a series of washers, with two resilient washers. First and second bolts extend through the first bracket, a first and second of the washers, the slot of the second bracket, a third and fourth of the washers, the resilient washers, and a fifth and sixth of the washers. The second bracket frictionally engages the first and second washers, and frictionally engages the third and fourth washers. The resilient washers are each located between the respective first, second, third and fourth washers, and the fifth and sixth washers. The bolts are engaged by nuts compressing the first and second resilient washers with a compressive force between the washers, supporting the first bracket and the second bracket relative to each other and permitting the first bracket and the second bracket to slide relative to each other.

The first core includes a plurality of legs having bottom surfaces, the plurality of legs including first and second outer legs and a center leg. A bobbin assembly is provided with a plurality of bobbins each having a hollow inner cavity, and wire wound around the bobbin. The plurality of bobbins including first and second outer bobbins and a center bobbin. A U-shaped spring clip includes a pair of clip arms that each extend down through a different one of the inner cavities, and tab apertures that are engaged with matching latching tabs on the second core, such as on a mounting foot secured to the second core.

In one general aspect, a system and process at a fuel dispenser may have the ability to present a user interface including data regarding at least one merchant remote from the fuel dispenser's fueling facility and to determine if ordering data corresponding to the remote merchant has been received. If ordering data corresponding to the remote merchant has been received, the system and process may have the ability to present a user interface regarding payment data. The system and process may also have the ability to determine if payment data has been received and, if payment data has been received, generate a message regarding the ordering data for a remote merchant computer.

Abstract: A paint brush accessory for a paint brush having a handle with an axis, a ferrule mounted to the handle, bristles extending from a heel of the ferrule, the bristles comprise a belly and a toe that is distal to the belly. The accessory can include a sleeve configured to be slidably mounted to the paint brush in an axial direction about the ferrule. The sleeve can include a continuous body that is hollow in the axial direction. The hollow can be configured to receive and conform to a shape of the ferrule, frictionally engage the ferrule, and be slidably repositionable on the ferrule along the axial direction. A distal end of the hollow can be configured to engage the belly of the bristles to conform an outer shape of the belly of the bristles to a desired uniform pattern.

Abstract: A method includes providing frames of video data for being displayed by a head mounted display (HMD). Pixel data is encoded in a pixel of at least some of the video data frames, the encoded pixel data defining a focal state of an optics block of the HMD for displaying the respective frame of the video data to a user. The predetermined focal state is determined from a plurality of available focal states of the optics block, each focal state corresponding to a different focal plane of a virtual image generated based on the video data. The pixel used for encoding may be disposed outside a region of the frame that is displayable by the HMD.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for processing images using an image processing neural network system. One of the systems includes a domain transformation neural network implemented by one or more computers, wherein the domain transformation neural network is configured to: receive an input image from a source domain; and process a network input comprising the input image from the source domain to generate a transformed image that is a transformation of the input image from the source domain to a target domain that is different from the source domain.

Abstract: Certain example embodiments of this invention relate to techniques for laser ablating/scribing peripheral edges of a coating (e.g., a low-emissivity, mirror, or other coating) on a glass or other substrate in a pre- or post-laminated assembly, pre- or post-assembled insulated glass unit, and/or other product, in order to slow or prevent corrosion of the coating. For example, a 1064 nm or other wavelength laser may be used to scribe lines into the metal and/or metallic layer(s) in a low-emissivity or other coating provided in an already-laminated or already-assembled insulated glass unit or other product, e.g., around its periphery. The scribe lines decrease electron mobility from the center of the coating to the environment and, thus, slow and sometimes even prevent the onset of electrochemical corrosion. Associated products, methods, and kits relating to same also are contemplated herein.

Abstract: Power management techniques in distributed communication systems in which the power available at a remote unit (RU) is measured and compared to the power requirements of the RU. Voltage and current are measured for two dummy loads at the RU and these values are used to solve for the output voltage of the power supply and the resistance of the wires. From these values, a maximum power available may be calculated and compared to power requirements of the RU.

The cushion further comprises a lip having an inward facing surface; wherein the cushion at least partially surrounds the carrier with at least a portion of the inward facing surface of the lip facing the outer edge surface of the carrier.
