  • Patent number: 10989888
Abstract: Embodiments of the invention include a method for making a partially bonded optical fiber ribbon. The method includes providing a linear array of optical fibers, and applying a bonding matrix material randomly to at least a portion of at least two adjacent optical fibers. The bonding matrix material is applied randomly to the adjacent optical fibers in such a way that the linear array of optical fibers forms a partially bonded optical fiber ribbon. The bonding matrix material applied randomly to the adjacent optical fibers is dense enough to allow the resulting partially bonded optical fiber ribbon to lay substantially flat. Also, the bonding matrix material applied randomly to the adjacent optical fibers is sparse enough to allow the resulting partially bonded optical fiber ribbon to be rolled into a substantially circular shape.

  • Patent number: 10993029
Abstract: An audio system on a headset presents audio content via tissue conduction to an inner ear of a first ear of a user. The system monitors, via one or more sensors on the headset, data about the presented audio content. The one or more sensors including at least one sensor configured to capture data about the presented audio content at a second ear of the user. The system estimates array transfer functions (ATFs) associated with the data, and generates sound filters for the transducer array using the estimated ATFs. The system presents adjusted audio content based in part on the sound filters. The adjusted audio content has a damped region at the second ear such that the amplitude of the adjusted audio content at the first ear has a higher amplitude than at the second ear.

  • Patent number: 10989113
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a power production system that is adapted to achieve high efficiency power production using partial oxidation of a solid or liquid fuel to form a partially oxidized stream that comprises a fuel gas. This fuel gas stream can be one or more of quenched, filtered, and cooled before being directed to a combustor of a power production system as the combustion fuel. The partially oxidized stream is combined with a compressed recycle CO2 stream and oxygen. The combustion stream is expanded across a turbine to produce power and passed through a recuperator heat exchanger. The expanded and cooled exhaust stream can be further processed to provide the recycle CO2 stream, which is compressed and passed through one or more recuperator heat exchangers in a manner useful to provide increased efficiency to the combined systems.

  • Patent number: 10991209
Abstract: In electronic video poker games, the contents of the deck after the deal of an initial set of cards may be modified to increase or decrease the likelihood of awards when compared to an unmodified deck. Cards may be added, removed, or reordered to alter winning probabilities after an initial set of cards are dealt. In a video poker game embodiment dealt from a standard 52-card deck, when the player holds cards of a single rank (a pair, three-of-a-kind, or four-of-a-kind), the game dynamically adds one or more cards of the held rank to the deck to enable the player to potentially achieve five-of-a-kind.
