Abstract: A mechanical gauge includes a stock panel with a first measurement scale, and a slide movably arranged relative to the stock panel. The first measurement scale has a series of marks spaced apart at regular intervals within a region of interest. The slide includes a second measurement scale adapted to selectively overlie the first measurement scale within the region of interest. The second measurement scale has a second series of marks spaced apart at regular intervals corresponding to the first series of marks of the first measurement scale. An elongated measurement probe is affixed to the slide and adapted for selectively extending into a groove formed in the tread of the vehicle tire.

Abstract: A method for processing electronic die includes providing a substrate having a plurality of electronic die formed as part of the substrate and separated from each other by spaces. The method includes placing the substrate onto a first carrier substrate. The method includes plasma etching the substrate through the spaces to form singulation lines adjacent the plurality of electronic die. The method includes exposing the plurality of electronic die to solvent vapors, such as heated solvent vapors, under reduced pressure to reduce the presence of residual contaminants resulting from the plasma etching step.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus for monitoring and controlling electronic devices using wired and wireless protocols are disclosed. The systems and apparatus may monitor their environment for signals from electronic devices. The systems and apparatus may take and disambiguate the signals that are received from the devices in their environment to identify the devices and associate control signals with the devices. The systems and apparatus may use communication means to send control signals to the identified electronic devices. Multiple apparatuses or systems may be connected together into networks, including mesh networks, to make for a more robust architecture.

Abstract: A money and card carrier assembly includes a first component having a first portion, wherein the first portion includes a plurality of pockets formed therein. Each of the plurality of pockets is sized to allow a credit card to be releasably retained therein. The assembly also includes a second portion, with a first hinge connecting the first portion and the second portion. A second component has a sleeve sized to allow the second portion of the first component to be removably inserted therein and a plurality of pockets located on either side of the sleeve. Each of the plurality of pockets is sized to allow a credit card to be releasably retained therein. A third component has a first generally planar portion, a second generally planar portion, and a second hinge connecting the first generally planar portion to the second generally planar portion. Each of the first and second generally planar portions is sized to be removably insertable into the sleeve.

Abstract: In some embodiments, a method receives a file describing characteristics for delivery of a creative on a video delivery system. The file is queried to identify elements in the string that define metadata. The string is written in a structural language and defines characteristics for the delivery of the creative. The method retrieves tag metadata for tags that define structural elements and validates the tag metadata based on a first specification. Media file metadata is obtained for a media file based on a link to the media file and the media file metadata is validated based on a second specification. The method outputs a result based on the validations. The creative is eligible for insertion during a break of streaming a main video on the video delivery system when the tag metadata and the media file metadata are validated.

The main body has the shape of two end-to-end Y's forming a central segment, two branch segments extending from each end of the central segment, and an extension segment extending from each of the four branch segments, to collectively form four unenclosed cell openings that are each semi-hexagonal in shape. Some embodiments include four reinforcement segments with each one extending into a respective cell opening, four voids with each one extending through respective adjacent branch and extension segments, an underbody gap formed under the central segment for refractory interlinking between cell openings, and/or a single stud-welding stud for the mounting feature.

The pattern of banded regions may be bands or stripes and the like along and/or around the tobacco rod. The banded regions may be solid or contain any number of cross-web and/or longitudinal discontinuities. The pattern may be configured so that when a smoking article is placed on a substrate, at least two longitudinal locations along the length of the tobacco rod have film-forming compound located only on sides of the smoking article not in contact with the substrate.

Abstract: A magnetic field sensor includes an analog front end having first and second magnetic field sensing elements arranged at approximately 90-degrees with respect to each other, a pre-processor and an arctangent processor. The first and second magnetic field sensing elements are arranged in a sideshaft orientation with respect to a rotating object and offset with respect to an axis of rotation of the rotating object, the rotating object having a radial axis and a tangential axis. The pre-processor is configured to receive the first and second magnetic field signals from the analog front end and to apply a correction factor to one or both of the first and second magnetic field signals to produce first and second scaled magnetic field signals. The arctangent processor is configured to calculate an arctangent value of the first and second scaled magnetic field signals.

Abstract: An illumination system and method is disclosed for maintaining a consistent change in illumination value among a group of illumination devices whenever a change command is manually sent from a keypad to those illumination devices. The consistent change results from maintaining a common start illumination value among not only the group, but also the keypad which controls the group. From the start illumination value, the keypad can then compute an end illumination value depending upon the amount of time that the increase or decrease in illumination value button is depressed and held.

Abstract: A bra liner for nursing mothers to be placed inside the front cup area of a bra or top. In some embodiments, the pad is made from a bonded fabric, made up of 3 layers fused together with a melt-bond process. The bonded fabric combines absorbency, waterproofing, and leak protection into one material that is antimicrobial, hypoallergenic, and eco-friendly. The shape of an example bra liner is a horizontal figure eight with contoured cups and a narrow center connection. The cups have a single dart from the lower outside edge to the apex with zig-zag topstitching. The outside edge is clean finished with a thin, woven bias-cut binding set onto the fabric with a single row of stitching to prevent the fabric edges from unraveling while lying flat against the body.

The recessed downlight fixture can be installed in a retrofit application, after a ceiling is installed, through a pre-existing opening in that ceiling. Alternatively, a recessed downlight fixture according to a second embodiment can be installed before a ceiling is present. In either embodiment, the light source coupled to, for example, a heat sink, can be universally moved in three degrees of movement, rotationally, along a tilt axis, or further within the ceiling to increase or decrease the recess. All such universal adjustments can take place through and below the ceiling opening during or after installation.

The flow control apparatus has a localized data repository for storing cumulative wear indications of components of the apparatus. The stored information travels with the apparatus allowing for more reliable predictive failure of components of the apparatus.

Abstract: In some examples, iterative sampling based dataset clustering may include sampling a dataset that includes a plurality of items to identify a specified number of sampled items. The sampled items may be clustered to generate a plurality of clusters. Un-sampled items may be assigned from the plurality of items to the clusters. Remaining un-sampled items that are not assigned to the clusters may be identified. A ratio associated with the remaining un-sampled items and the plurality of items may be compared to a specified threshold. Based on a determination that the ratio is greater than the specified threshold, an indication of completion of clustering of the plurality of items may be generated.

The controllable impedance circuit may be coupled in series with a first switching device, which may be rendered conductive and non-conductive via a pulse-width modulated signal to adjust an average magnitude of the load current. The controllable lighting device may further comprise a control loop circuit that includes a second switching device. The second switching device may be rendered conductive and non-conductive in coordination with the first switching device to control when a feedback signal is provided to the control loop circuit and used to control the LED light source. The control loop circuit may be characterized by a time constant that is significantly greater than an operating period of the load current.
