Publication number: 20210115788Abstract: A velocity of a flow of drilling fluid is adjusted to a magnitude that is within the operating range of a mud pulser disposed in the flow of the drilling fluid. A stator in the mud pulser directs the flow of drilling fluid along one or more separate paths. The paths are defined by channels that extend axially along an outer surface of the stator and that are spaced angularly apart from one another. Also in the mud pulser is a rotor that alternatingly blocks the paths. The velocity is adjusted with a plug assembly that blocks flow through a designated channel. One type of plug assembly is a disk with passages that register with less than all of the channels, and that mounts on a downstream end of the stator. Other types of plug assemblies mount in the designated channel to block the flow path.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 14, 2020Publication date: April 22, 2021Applicant: Baker Hughes Holdings LLCInventors: Jens Teuchgraber, Thomas Wettmarshausen, Bastian Sauthoff, Arne Deiters

Publication number: 20210120272Abstract: A method of video decoding performed in a video decoder is disclosed. A syntax element can be received from a bitstream of a coded video that indicates whether a sequence of pictures are monochrome or include three color components that are coded separately. By inferring a value of a syntax element, a coding tool can be disabled when the syntax element indicates that the sequence of pictures are monochrome or include three color components that are coded separately. The coding tool uses multiple color components of a picture as input or depends on a chroma component of a picture. Examples of the disabled coding tools can include joint coding of chroma residuals, active color transform (ACT), or block-based delta pulse code modulation (BDPCM) for chroma component.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 16, 2020Publication date: April 22, 2021Applicant: Tencent America LLCInventors: Cheung AUYEUNG, Xiang LI, Shan LIU

Publication number: 20210117459Abstract: Retrieval of relevant vectors produced by representation learning can critically influence the efficiency in Natural Language Processing (NLP) tasks. Presented herein are systems and methods for searching vectors via a typical nonmetric matching function: inner product. Embodiments, which construct an approximate Inner Product Delaunay Graph (IPDG) for top-1 Maximum Inner Product Search (MIPS), transform retrieving the most suitable latent vectors into a graph search problem with great benefits of efficiency. Experiments on data representations learned for different machine learning tasks verify the outperforming effectiveness and efficiency of IPDG embodiments.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 16, 2020Publication date: April 22, 2021Applicant: Baidu USA LLCInventors: Shulong TAN, Zhixin ZHOU, Zhaozhuo XU, Ping LI

Publication number: 20210117808Abstract: A software agent running on a SAN node performs machine learning to adjust caching policy parameters. Learned cache hit rate distributions and cache hit rate rewards relative to baselines are used to dynamically adjust caching parameters such as prefetch size to improve state features such as cache hit rate. The agent may also detect performance degradation. The agent uses efficient state representations to learn the distribution of hit rates as a function of different caching policy parameters. Baselines are used to learn the difference between the baseline cache hit rate and the cache hit rate under an adjusted caching policy, rather than learning the cache hit rate directly.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 17, 2019Publication date: April 22, 2021Applicant: EMC IP HOLDING COMPANY LLCInventors: Vinicius Gottin, Jonas Dias, Tiago Calmon
