  • Patent number: 10122194
Abstract: Embodiments of the invention relate to an apparatus comprising a housing having a substantially rectangular shape and including a top side, a bottom side, and a slot that passes from the top side to the bottom side of the housing to secure a mobile input device in an upright configuration. The apparatus further includes an energy storage device disposed within the housing to charge the mobile input device. The energy storage device may charge the mobile input device by inductive charging or hardwire (e.g., via a retractable cable). The slot can include a coating or covering to increase a coefficient between the slot and the mobile input device. The slot can be disposed in the long end of the housing and can support the mobile input device in either a portrait or landscape upright configuration, from either the top end or the bottom end.

  • Patent number: 10114769
Abstract: Synchronization of effects across multiple devices using local, distributed control, and eliminating the need for central direction of the effects with the associated large bandwidth required. In one embodiment, each device stores data and instructions for creating its own effects. The devices periodically communicate with a host or each other to maintain synchronization, and compensate for any drift. This approach minimizes the use of bandwidth and battery power in the devices.

  • Patent number: 10112075
Abstract: Systems, methods, and devices are provided for determining an exercise program recommendation for an anticipated exercise session. One such system includes a wearable device comprising a biosensor that monitors biometrics (e.g. heart rate); a motion sensor that monitors activity; a processor operatively coupled to the biosensor, the processor configured to process electronic signals periodically generated by the biosensor and the motion sensor; and a non-transitory computer-readable medium operatively coupled to the processor and storing instructions that, when executed, cause the processor to execute specific functions. In particular, the instructions are executed to cause the processor to generate biometric data from the biometrics (e.g. heart rate information in particular).

  • Patent number: 10110855
Abstract: Systems and methods for connecting wireless cameras are provided. A computing device may include a network interface, and a processor configured to establish a virtual USB bus available to an operating system of the computing device, establish a virtual USB camera device, and report to the operating system that the virtual USB camera device is connected to the virtual USB bus. The virtual USB camera may be configured to establish a network connection to a network camera using the network interface, receive video data from the network camera via the network interface, and send the video data via the virtual USB bus. Alternatively, the virtual USB camera may send the video data to the operating system as USB packets, without establishing a virtual USB bus.

  • Patent number: 10082886
Abstract: In certain embodiments, a computer-implemented method includes detecting a graphical control element on a graphical user interface (GUI), determining a type of the graphical control element, generating configuration control data to cause an input device to configure one or more input elements on the input device to perform functions corresponding to the type of the graphical control element, and sending the configuration control data to the input device. In some cases, the configuration control data causes the input device to configure at least two of the one or more input elements to perform functions corresponding to the type of the graphical control element, and wherein the at least two of the one or more input elements are associated with different functions. The type of graphical control element can be one of a video media player, audio media player, hyperlink, word processor document, spreadsheet document, or alphanumeric text.

  • Patent number: 10078734
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for using earphones with biometric sensors to identify and present information regarding performance periods. Fatigue level associated with fatigue experienced in response to a stimulus and recovery from such fatigue may be determined based on heart rate variability (HRV) data and learned user characteristics. One or more cycles of fatigue and recovery can be identified as a fitness cycle(s), each fitness cycle encompassing a period of time beginning with the stimulus associated with the fitness-related activity and progressing through recovery from the fatigue experienced in response to the stimulus associated with the fitness-related activity. A performance period may be predicted based on a pre-determined fatigue/recovery level instance within a fitness cycle.

  • Patent number: 10057934
Abstract: Certain embodiments include a computer-method includes searching for a receiver having an active first wireless communication protocol. When the receiver is detected, the mobile input device connects to the receiver, and when the receiver is not detected, the method includes searching for a host computer having an active second wireless communication protocol (e.g., Bluetooth®) after the receiver is not detected. The method further includes connecting the mobile input device to the host computer when the receiver is not detected and the active second type of wireless communication protocol is detected. The method then continues to search for the receiver while the mobile input device is connected to the host computer having the second wireless communication protocol, and automatically switches the wireless connection from the host computer having the second wireless communication protocol to the receiver when the first type of receiver is detected.

  • Patent number: 10048570
Abstract: In certain embodiments, a video camera system includes a modular attachment to couple to a video camera housing, the modular attachment including a slot extending into the modular attachment and a base support including a ball-and-socket joint providing a range of motion for the base support and a tongue fixed to the ball-and-socket joint and extending therefrom, where the slot is configured to receive the tongue such that the modular attachment couples and secures to the base support according to a first friction, and where an orientation of the battery pack with respect to the base support is adjustable according to the range of motion of the ball-and-socket joint according to a second friction. The second friction can be greater than the first friction such that coupling or decoupling the battery pack from the base support does not cause the ball-and-socket joint to rotate.
