Abstract: A light-weight, semi-rigid wound shield protects wounds and intradermal therapy ports from impacts between therapy sessions. The wound shield comprises a domed cover forming a concave cavity above the wound or therapy port. A flange surrounding the cavity presses against the patient's skin to deflect and distribute the force of impacts. The flange may include a self-adhesive layer on its bottom, or it may be secured with medical tape or a fitted bandage that overlaps the flange and the surrounding skin. A peel-away membrane covers the adhesive layers. A tunnel through the flange may connect to the cavity to accommodate a therapy tube which remains in place while the shield is worn. In an alternate embodiment, a base coextensive with the flange adheres to the patient's skin and the wound shield removably couples to the base by its flange. The assembly comes in a sterile envelope or package.

Abstract: A preform clamping head which is mounted at the lower part of a heating chain (8) includes an integral annular sleeve body (1), the outer surface of which inclines outwardly from bottom to top and the upper part of which is provided with a retracting space (2) for the inward retracting of the annular sleeve body when it is pressed. The invention has simple manufacture process and low manufacture cost. By means of the integral molding mode, the axial requirement of the preform clamping head is easier to satisfy, so that the bottle preform clamped on the outer surface of the sleeve body is capable of rotating stably along the heating chain and can be heated more uniformly during the heating process.

Abstract: A process of manufacturing the main body of a bike helmet includes the following steps: (I.) coating with a base layer resin: that is, uniformly coating the entire shock absorbing liner with a base layer resin; (II.) coating with a protective layer resin: uniformly coating the base layer resin with a protective layer resin to form a shell; (III.) transferring pattern: transferring the pattern to print on the shell; and (IV.) clear coating: spraying clear coating on the pattern. By the aforesaid steps of the process, the shock absorbing liner and the shell are able to join tightly, which solidifies the helmet for better durability, to prolong the years of use, to substantially lower the production cost, and to boost the yield rate.

Abstract: A brush holder of the present invention is formed by a plurality of brush holder units in serial connection. Each brush holder unit includes an insulating base, a brush frame, and two carbon brushes. The insulating base has a protrusion and a recess on opposite sides. The brush frame has a main body received in the recess and two branches projected from opposite ends of the main body. The carbon brushes are provided on the branches of the brush frame. The protrusion of the brush holder unit is inserted into the recess of another brush holder unit to serially connect the brush holder units as well as to secure the brush frame in the recess. Therefore, the brush holder may be formed by serially connecting the brush holder units in a fast and easy way, and it provides a stable signal transmission.

Abstract: The present invention is directed to a method and apparatus for desalinating seawater utilizing a two stage seawater desalination system, a first stage including at least one high performance nanofiltration membrane to receive seawater feed pressurized by a first stage pump sufficiently and to produce a first permeate, and a second stage including at least one high performance nanofiltration membrane to receive the first permeate pressurized by a second stage pump to between about 200 psi and about 300 psi to produce potable water.

Abstract: A LED module and a packing method of the same include plural boards defined with a positive line and a negative line. The positive line connects to at least one positive joint, and the negative line connects to at least one negative joint. Some LEDs are respectively disposed on each board, and conducting ends of the LEDs are separately connected to the positive line and the negative line. A number of electronic elements are individually installed on each board, and conducting ends of the electronic elements are separately connected to the positive line and the negative line disposed on the board. A positive guiding line connects to the positive joint of each board, and a negative guiding line connects to the negative joint of each board. The LED module achieved in accordance with above-mentioned construction contributes to the flexibility.

Abstract: A restaurant customer-survey system and device, which reduces employee fraud when a customer-satisfaction survey embedded in the device is conducted. The survey may be implemented in a pager, tip tray, or other computing device that includes an internally mounted camera that covertly takes a photograph of the survey participant. The photograph is date/time stamped and associated with a table number so that the waiter for the table can be identified. The survey results together with the associated photograph are uploaded to a management database. The restaurant manager can review the photographs to ensure that employees are not fraudulently conducting the surveys rather than customers. The system also enables the customer to interface with the restaurant's point-of-sale (POS) system to retrieve the customer's current bill or wirelessly make a payment from the table.

Thus, the user has to detach the positioning member from the first positioning hole of the shank to release the rotation knob so as to rotate the rotation knob for changing the code of the number wheels, thereby preventing the user from changing the code of the number wheels freely when rotating the rotation knob unintentionally.

Systems and methodologies presented herein can utilize a relaxed form of the Lenstra-Lenstra-Lovasz (LLL) lattice reduction algorithm to reduce the complexity of lattice reduction operations in the context of MIMO detection. Additional systems and methodologies presented herein can apply lattice reduction in the context of a maximum likelihood (ML) detector for spherical or elliptical lattice space-time (LAST) codes.

Abstract: A dual-mode exercise machine includes a base, a swivel, two pedals, two impedance elements, a linkage and a pin. The swivel is pivotally connected to the base. The pedals are pivotally connected to the swivel. Each impedance element connects a related pedal to the swivel. The linkage includes a middle lever pivotally connected to the base and two lateral levers each for connecting a related pedal to the middle lever so that the pedals can be pivoted up and down alternately. The pin can be inserted in an aperture of the swivel and an aperture of the base to prevent the pivotal of the swivel but allow the pivotal of the middle lever. Alternatively, the pin can be inserted in an aperture of the middle lever and another aperture of the base to prevent the pivotal of the middle lever but allow the pivotal of the swivel.

Abstract: In an anode material of a lithium-ion secondary battery and its preparation method, a natural graphite, an artificial graphite or both are mixed to form a graphite powder, and the graphite powder is mixed with a resin of a high hard carbon content and processed by a mist spray drying process, and finally added or coated with a special resin material after a carburizing heat treatment takes place to prepare a graphite composite of the anode material of the lithium-ion secondary battery and achieve a smaller surface area of an anode graphite composite of the battery and extended cycle life and capacity.

Abstract: A connecting device for curtain wall units is disclosed. The connecting device comprises: a claw arm having a horizontal arm for carrying the curtain wall units; a plurality of clamping plates, each two clamping plates fixed on the horizontal arm to clamp the curtain wall units; and a claw base connected to the claw arm and a supporting structure of the curtain wall units. The weight of curtain wall is supported by the claw arm of the connecting device, and point-supported type clamping of the curtain wall is realized by the clamping plates on the end of the claw arm, which enables the stability and security of the structure of curtain wall. The claw arm is hidden in the space between the curtain walls, and thus the whole appearance of curtain wall is beautified. Furthermore, it is unnecessary to provide through holes on the glass wall units.

Abstract: A safety helmet visor setting mechanism includes a shell having an indent at each side and a long opening behind the indent at one side. An anchored unit fits in the long opening and has two grooves. A hold plate has two push chunks placed in the two grooves respectively. A link bar, fixed in the anchored unit and jostled with the hold plate, can be moved by the drive of the push chunk. A cover, capping the anchored unit, jostles with the link bar and the hold plate for a lockup. A first visor joint, positioned inside the shell in one side, has a bottom end pinned joined with the top end of the link bar, and has a top end provided with a cave. A second visor joint, positioned inside the shell in the other side has a springy slice forming an accommodation space with the shell. A visor has a clasp slice at each side penetrating the caves and the accommodation spaces of both the first visor joint and the second visor joint for assembly.
